I have been going to Lisa for years now and she has never disappointed. I have referred her to many friends and now they're all loyal clients. That's how good she is! She is very talented and wants to make sure that she understands what exactly you want. Oh and when she washes you hair she gives the BEST mini head massages- they make you want to fall asleep right there! Yes, she has a very full schedule but from my experiences, she always makes sure to pencil you in within about two weeks. With payment, she's cash or check only. She has a beautiful salon. It is very mellow and she makes the atmosphere very welcoming. She never tries to push you into buying products. There's always parking too!
shed is a fantastic salon, and a hair cut with lisa will make you a believer. she's a creative and talented stylist who sees the potential in your hair and will bring out your inner hair model. the salon has an open design open and a modern feel, with a relaxed vibe and an easy to get to location.
if you call to get an appointment with her and you cant get in right away, don't fret, shes worth the wait and every penny. an appointment with lisa at shed is an experience not to be missed.
Lisa is fantastic. I have curly hair and she gives me a great cut every time. I first found Lisa after I had gotten the WORST cut of my life, and she did a masterful job trying to repair a bad cut. Her prices are fair, but she is popular, so call ahead.
I went by one day and asked the lone person in there closing up shop what they charge for a hair cut and was told around $60!? and to come back tomorrow, that they take walk-ins, no problem.
I went by the next day, and there were three people there, (there's no receptionist, so it's just a big wide space and chairs, no greeting, no receptionist, nada) and three customers (two over 60, one around 45-50) and one waiting (also +60 and waiting) who started talking to herself , so they offered her some tea. She asked for green, but they gave her chamomile--I suppose to calm her down?
After about 20-30 minutes of sitting there, I was approached by the owner, who told me she's booked out "weeks" in advance and she doesn't take walk ins, but gave me a card and told me to call, and that she'd "refer" me to one of the people she rents a chair to.
WHAT
EVER!
seems like lotsa hype.
(I ended up going to Head in Albany, and paid $15...saved $45 and got a great cut, no wait.
But...I didn't get a cup of chamomile tea.)
I gave it 2 stars just because it seemed like an easy place to go (I live upstairs)...but I'll save $45 and travel 15 minutes, happily.
And...Oh...I live right upstairs TOO--and it has not made me biased.
Check it out!
For you modern people out there come and get your hair did at SHED. Make sure you get your hair done by Lisa aka owner!
So, I might be considered a bit biased since I live right upstairs from Shed. But I love Lisa (the owner) and she is the first hairdresser I have ever had that knew what to do with my hair. Not that my hair is complicated, but Lisa had a vision for it so I let her do what she wanted and it looks terrific! It is $60 for a women's haircut and $45 for a guy's.
I highly recommend Shed and Mishell Erickson. I've been following her from salon to salon over the last 20 years and she really knows how to cut hair and does great color. Plus Mishell is just a great person.
