Oh my GOD!!!!! Booooo!!! I remember I used to hear every other (thinking back - idiotic pretentious person) go on and on about this stupid play. I wasn't allowed to watch it for a while - apparently it wasn't totally appropriate for children - but when I was finally allowed -- seriously -- what a stupid show -- funny -- fine but seriously -- not worth half of the crap-ollades it gets in DC - you would think it would be a life altering experience the way people talk about that show. Your better off watching that old whoopie goldberg movie -- SOAP I think -- than you are going to this lame show -- i think the element of audience participation is what tickles everyone or just the fact that its at the Kennedy Center - but seriously its the most boring thing in the universe -- there are way better things to do with you time than see this show -- don't fall for the hype -- its sheer boredom!
Sorry, but I don't think the show was by any means stellar. It had its comedic moments but I was surprised that most of the humor was related to everyday happenings of the DC area, which to me just weren't all that amusing.
I will say the Kennedy Center is an amazing place though and would definitely go back for other performances, just not to this specific show.
What a great show!
My cousin took me here during my visit, I did not know what to expect. I loved everything about Shear Madness, it was hilarious, beautifully decorated. I could not stop laughing. I could tell how passionate the actors are about being about of this show.
