If you are getting married in San Francisco/Napa/Sonoma/Carmel (or anywhere this woman will travel), do not give it a second thought. Pick up your phone now and book Sarah Hyde. She is The Best. Like the reviewer before me, I too am a makeup junkie and do a pretty darn good job on my own makeup. More often then not, I end up redoing it after having it professionally done because it's never quite exactly how I wanted it. Sarah did my hair and makeup for my wedding last month, and it was *exactly* how I wanted it. Actually, it was way better than whatever it was I thought I wanted. She has tricks and and an eye for color and shading and detail that, in my experience, no one else has. When she was done, I looked like the bride I always wanted to be.
And she comes with an amazing team of incredibly talented and professional assistants who will dote on your mom and bridesmaids too. I had six bridesmaids, my mom, and MIL all getting their hair and makeup done, and the morning ran perfectly smoothly. This fabulous team somehow even made time at the end of the afternoon to fit in two impromptu services for other family members.
While her assistants worked seemingly effortlessly away on all these women, Sarah focused on just my mom and me (somehow, without me having to say a word, she knew this was what I wanted) and timed it perfectly so she had a big chunk of time to devote solely to me. She also made sure there was nothing to distract her OR me while she was working her magic, which I so appreciated. Her calm, cool (but also very sweet) demeanor is *exactly* what I needed in those hours before the big event. She anticipates what's important to you, the bride, and firmly yet discreetly makes sure everyone works around that. I would have wanted her there just for the company! I think Sarah would make a fantastic psychologist, but luckily for us brides, she chose to become a (phenomenal) makeup artist. Do yourself a huge favor and book her for your wedding. -

Incredible! Sarah did my hair and makeup for my wedding this Feb. I am not a fan of makeup, but loved the natural look that Sarah created. Have never received so many compliments. The trial beforehand really put me at ease. I would highly, highly recommend Sarah!

I LOVE makeup. I love products. And on my wedding day I wasn't willing to settle on makeup and hair. I made the absolute best decision booking Sarah Hyde. Raina is the best makeup artist I have met. Not only is she fabulous at her job but she is also cool. I met Misty for the first time that day and loved her and her talent as well. And Antonio crushed it with hair. My entire bridal party and mom's were glowing. The whole morning ran smoothly, ahead of schedule and the SHE artists were all calm and relaxed. If you want to look your best on your wedding day book this team fast!

Planning a destination wedding can be a challenge when booking makeup and hair especially since you can't meet for a trial run. I sent her two photos of myself, a few photos of brides that I thought looked great and a quick conversation before she started...and AMAZING WORK was produced. I have never felt so beautiful and yet still looked like myself. I have had my makup done several times as a bridesmaids in others weddings and they didn't even compare to the level of work Sarah produced.
I have a TON of hair and its shoulder length and without a style idea even in mind; Sarah proposed a stylish, trendy, bridal look.
I would recommend Sarah 1000 times over, she was prompt, professional and increadibly talented! -

One of my best friends, who's about to get married, says that weddings make you crazy. You start thinking about and doing things that no sane person would ever do! Like, for example, driving twice, for an hour and a half, to get your hair trial done. Or, you know, spending hours looking up hairstyles on the internet and making your stylist redo your hair when the curls don't look quite right, even though to pretty much every other person in the world it would look great.
Ugh.
Thankfully, Sarah deals with this stuff like a pro. Our first trial took an hour longer than expected, and I still wasn't happy with my hair (and kind of panicking, because after dropping a bunch of money for a trial you really don't want to start the stylist search all over! Aaahhh!) . We agreed that I would come in for a secondary trial, at no further charge(!) so that we could be sure to get my hair right!
Thankfully, the second time was great (and she even took the time to redo my foundation to resolve some issues we had the first time around), and at the wedding it was absolutely perfect. She did my mom's makeup as well, and my mom looked lovely. She doesn't wear makeup very often, and it made me so happy to see that Sarah did her makeup just right, not overdone at all, and made her look so beautiful.
Everyone else whose hair/makeup she did was very happy as well, even my mother in law who I think may never have had her hair or makeup done in her life before.
And, additionally, she brought in a professional lamp because the room where we got ready was kind of dark. All in all, I felt like she really went out of her way to really make things work. She was even willing to accommodate me when it was looking like one of the hair appointments wouldn't happen, and not charge me for it, although it was on really late notice. Luckily we found someone else to take the spot.
In short, Sarah is a great stylist, a great makeup artist, and really goes out of her way, beyond what you would expect, to make sure that you are satisfied with her job. I would hire her again in a heartbeat. -

Sarah Hyde did the make-up and hair for my bridal party this past weekend. OUTSTANDING!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
She was so professional, punctual, completely reliable and did an oustanding job. She arrived at my house at 8:00 AM and worked for at least five straight hours on myself, my mother and my four bridesmaids. She and her assistant brought the highest quality of products and made us all look so beauitful. We all had such different types of hair and a variety of preferences and she combined her creativity with our style. It was also over 100 degrees when I was taking my pictures and my make-up did not run and my hair did not go flat from the balls of sweat around my hairline. My husband said that he had never seen me look radient. Sarah Hyde made me feel so glamourous for my wedding and I could not be more grateful.
One last comment, my wedding was on my mom's 69th birthday and her make-up skills took ten years off of her face...it made me so happy to see her feel so beautiful. -

I have had hair and make up done a bizillion times and found Sarah Hyde to be among the very best. Each of us four bridesmaids, the mother of the bride, and the bride herself loved what she did for us. Rather than trying to apply a single look to the whole wedding party, she brought out the best features in each of us. She used excellent quality products (Laura Mercier, Chanel, MAC) and somehow made us look great both close up and far away/for pictures--I didn't feel like I was wearing a make-up mask yet it lasted all night.
The best part of working with Sarah was that she is such a genuine, lovely person (and easy on the eyes!) who helped maintain calm in a room with five women preparing for a wedding where things could easily get hectic (I suppose the bottomless champagne helped too....). She also does amazing hair, but for this gig, she teamed with Kathleena Gorga, who did all of our hair (see my review).
$600 for the bride and $200 for the bridesmaids--not inexpensive but worth it to feel special for the big day and to have perfect pictures for life. -

Sarah was amazing. My hair and makeup was beautiful! My mom, and bridesmaids all were happy and looked wonderful. Sarah is also a very calm and caring person so the wedding day went smooth. She is great! Book her now!

Sarah is completely amazing!!!!! I was introduced to her by my wedding planner and couldn't be more pleased with the end result. I went in for my trial appointment in September (my wedding wasn't until July, but she is so good that you have to book early!!). I didn't see Sarah again until my wedding. She remembered everything (she took pictures and detailed notes) and was such a pleasure to work with on my wedding day.
We had hair and makeup done for my entire bridal party, flower girls, my mom and myself. In the end, it was 15 people. Sarah brought an amazing team of professionals with her. Everyone (and I really mean it!) looked stunning. I have been a bridesmaid so many times where the hair and makeup is just awful. This was a welcomed change....all of my girls loved the way they looked.
As for me, I have never felt more beautiful. She knew just what to do, kept me calm the whole time she worked on me and in the end made me look the best I have ever looked. I would recommend her to everyone....she is so easy to work with and has such talent.
Thank you Sarah and team for making my wedding so special. I will always look back at pictures and remember what a joy you were to work with on that day. -

Sarah was wonderful at my dear friend's wedding. I was a bridesmaid, and she did a fantastic job on our makeup, and I received so many compliments on my hair. Both withstood very warm temperatures and an evening of dancing! She was fun, engaging, and professional. I would really recommend her for your wedding or special event!

The last time I felt truly glamourous was when Sarah did my makeup for a wedding. The catch is, I wasn't the bride...or even in the wedding party...I was a mere attendee with a problem: my ex was going to be there. I had to look my best. Sarah delivers 100% because she knows color better than any makeup artist I have ever worked with. She understands, without words, what look the client is after.
She broke me of the Red Lipstick Habit and turned me onto softer colors, less aging, that I never would have expected. She sees your face as a kind of canvas, and because she has background as a painter, she has an exceptional eye for detail and contour.
Twelve years since the wedding, I was lucky enough to locate Sarah again, at http://sarahhyde.com for a makeup lesson to update my look. Oh, and did I mention she does hair too? You must contact Sarah. She is truly an artist. -

Sarah Hyde is a fabulous make and hair professional, and I can not imagine having had anyone else there on my special day!! Sarah did a great job and kept us all on schedule. I felt confident to go forward with ease after how good I looked at our prior wedding makeup and hair trial. The great news is I actually looked even better on my wedding day. I was able to relax knowing I was going to look fabulous (if I must say so myself!). i had this complicated idea of pearls woven in my hair and she did the most amazing hairstyle that wove them in to it. Seriously, it was just what I had imagined and it was sophisticated and subtle, and truly a work of art.
Anyway, there was so much going on around with guests, bridesmaids, and in my case an 11 year old daughter who wanted center stage and had a tantrum while Sarah was doing my hair and makeup. Sarah handled it all with aplomb. Sarah is a seasoned makeup and hair artist that I can personally attest is graceful under pressure. Just what a gal needs when she is making the biggest commitment of her entire life.
All my interactions from beginning to end with this sunny, funny, and wonderful person are a pleasure to recommend to you. You really don't need to search any further, Sarah is the go to gal for you!!! If there were a six star rating I would be giving it to Sarah Hyde. -
