I grew up skiing on this mountain. It's small, but most of the skiers are good, so it's an affordable and fun place to ski.

Shawnee Peak is a decent mid sized mountain. It has nice views from the trails, is pretty close to Portland and is uncrowded. My experience with the snowboarding school was acceptable. If you don't live in Southern Maine there isn't any point in going, (this keeps the crowds down).
