I have being going to Dr. Albright for more than two years now.
Dr. Albright and her team have excellent professional standards and are also extremely personable. Her manner is gentle and straightforward. She makes all efforts to provide required information to her patients to make an informed choice.
They are also flexible and very understanding with respect to scheduling appointments.
With respect to cost, it ofcourse depends on insurance. I am currently on Delta Dental PPO and my share of payment for last cleaning check-up session was around 27 dollars which I think is pretty reasonable.
Their office is on Telegraph avenue which makes it easily accessible to students at Berkeley, and I have known a lot of my friends who have had similar good experience with Dr. Albright. It was on suggestion of a friend that I visited her first. My friend only had her cleaning done there but I can attest for other dental care as well. I have had relatively painless extractions done here, as well as fillings. Her hygienist Boba is also very skilled and is very attentive to all details.
HIGHLY recommend Dr. Albright and her staff ! -

Dr. Albright is super attentive, and uber sweet and takes time to explain things and calm all fears. I actually looked forward to going to the dentist for a change. Comfortable chairs, headphones and flat screen to watch and listen to pandora to drown out any scary drill sounds. The staff is friendly and professional. They give you a detailed print out of the services to be performed, the cost and whats covered by your insurance and what you will have to pay. They even give you a warm spa quality towel to wipe your face after you are done with your dental work. I love this place!

Dr. Albright is seriously the best! All of her employees are fantastic!!! I seriously hated going to my old dentist because I hated the actual teeth cleaning. I feel bad for forgetting her name, but whoever cleaned my teeth did an amazing job! No pain! No scolding for not flossing (fyi, I am now an avid, daily flosser). Also, in my first visit, I swear they took like 20 X-rays of my teeth. Dr. Albright helped with some of the X-rays since we were trying to get images of my since removed wisdom teeth.
Other than getting a referral to get my wisdom teeth out, Dr. Albright repaired some chipped fillings that I had a few weeks later. She was super gentle and the process was very easy.
I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Albright and her staff. They are amazing! Also, Yurtle the Turtle in the waiting room is so cute! You'll know what I'm talking about when you go in for your appointment. :0) -

I recently moved back to Oakland and was in need of some dental work (chipped tooth). I called Dr. Albright's office and was given an opening the very same day. Upon entering the office, I was greeted with the warmest people. I was then told by a patient that "I would love it." I thought she was going a bit far because really, it's only a dentist's office. Well, she was right! It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Everyone was super nice, attentive, and thoughtful. I look forward to my full checkup in the new year.

Couldn't have felt better leaving the dentist.
All of dr. Alright's staff were super friendly, super helpful.
They have a very relaxing environment and explained everything to me as we went along.
I went in thinking I had a big issue with a tooth when it was merely nothing. Amazingly nice and calm lady.
It's like the Ritz-Carlton of dentists...i should know I used to work there. -

Is this place for real? Maybe I only dreamed I had an incredibly pleasant experience at the dentist. I've been to dentists ranging across the spectrum (once I was berated for asking for more Novocaine in the midst of the dentist arguing with his wife who also worked in the office - ahh!). I've also been to other really good dentists with a lot to love. But Dr. A and her staff are the best I've ever been to.
Having someone all up in your grill sucks no matter what, but these folks did their best to make me feel at ease and keep me well-informed. Not only that, but the information and advice was consistent from Dr. A and her hygienists. I was not given the flossing guilt trip, but an education in why flossing can lead to bone and gum loss. Thank you for appealing to my intelligence and not my baser emotions! -

Dr. Albright and her entire staff are fabulous ~ fun, relaxed, concerned and will always take the time to explain what is happening. Last year was a dental nightmare for me ... four root canals. My root canal dentist (who is also fabulous) looked at Dr. Albright's work and said it was classic ~ he was quite impressed. I am, too. In all honesty, I don't like going to the dentist. I can't say that has changed, but I don't hesitate now when I know or think I have something going on in my mouth, because I am greeted with joy and treated with respect. This office rocks!

Dr. Sharon Albright and her staff maintain a model balance of professional dental care and thoughtful, kind attention at the personal level. In more than two years as a patient, I have always had "five star" procedures, X-rays, and cleanings. From the check-in desk to the patient's chair, the entire office is warm and welcoming. All of the equipment--cameras, computers, tools--are gleaming, new, and effective. Crystal clear explanations of what I have been doing well, and what I need to improve upon, have helped me improve my health overall.
Public transportation and parking are convenient, too.
I thank Dr. Albright for quelling the anxieties of us patients. Just a few moments of genuine conversation go a long way! Recommending her dental care practice is a joy, and I have sent many friends already. -

Dr. Albright and her team are the best. My dad is a retired dentist and I was really nervous to actually have to find a dentist after all these years. Well Dr. A is awesome and very thorough and her staff is very friendly.

I'll update this review with details of what I've had done here when I have more time. For now:
I've been going to Sharon for a couple of years now. She's professional, attentive, thorough, and everything you would want in a dentist. I always ask tons of questions, and she's always happy to explain. She always asks if I'm doing ok if my face is showing any expressions of discomfort. She's also personable and sweet. Finally, scheduling and billing is easy - I especially appreciate the great work Joanne does.
I initially heard about Dr. Albright through a friend and have sent other friends her way since. I also get great treatment from UCSF for orthodontic work. I feel lucky to have such good dental care! -

I have been going to Dr Albright for several years now and I am very impressed with her and her staff. She has modern equipment, is very knowledgeable and does not push treatments that you do not need. I will continue to use her as long as I live in the bay area.

Dr. Albright is kind, patient, and knowledgeable. She takes the time to explain what she is doing. Her bedside manner is extremely warm. Her assistants are great, too. Boba in particular is a stickler for good dental hygiene and I always leave the office vowing not to let her down next time.

When I first started going to this dentist, I would have easily given it 5 stars. Very friendly service. But after a few visits, I started to notice that every time I went in Dr. Albright would recommend additional preventative treatments. I happily agreed at first but after the 4th visit, I started to get suspicious. Especially when the dental hygienist saw nothing each time and Dr. Albright was the one who always found something. I visited a new dentist recently who gave me a clean bill on my teeth and didn't "push" additional treatments that were likely not necessary.

They were always very friendly, although the wait could be long (I'd try to get an appointment first thing in the morning or right after lunch to cut down on wait time). I'm sad my dental insurance has changed and now I have to find a new dentist. I would highly recommend them.

Honestly, there are dentists, and there is SHARON ALBRIGHT. I joined Yelp just to review her. I've been going to her for 3 years now and it's like no other dental office experience. She and her staff are so thorough and professional -- it's like they went to extra years of medical school. You really feel that you're in the hands of an expert. They explain everything extremely well (I always want to know what's going on) and in a way that motivates you to be more diligent about flossing, not just the normal disinterested, rote browbeating you get at most dentists. She gave me fillings in a way that didn't need novacaine, and they look and feel great.
TRUE STORY: when my Mom came to visit and lost a crown, not only did they get her in a last-minute emergency appointment that required the office to stay open late, but Dr. Albright diagnosed the underlying problem that 4 other dentists had missed, gave Mom copies of the x-ray to show to her regular dentist back home and WROTE THE DENTIST A LETTER explaining exactly what needed to be done on her next visit. It was the next level! And for all that, Mom walked out without paying a dime -- they'd just bill her dental insurance and follow-up with her if she needed to pay anything remaining.
I am moving to DC but I would consider coming back to SF twice a year just to go to Dr. Albright!!! -

All my life I have hated going to the dentist. I brush obsessively, floss occasionally, and avoided dentists for years at a time--until I came to Dr. Albright. She and her staff are friendly, patient, gentle and all around fantastic! They found a cavity and got me in immediately afterwards--no appointment necessary. I can't say that I'm ever going to look forward to getting my teeth examined but I no longer dread it!

My first visit to Dr. Albright office, and they sent the insurance paperwork well in advance. No parking hassles, no waiting. I appreciated how much time they took getting to know me and my history.
My exam and cleaning went very well, each step explained and I was asked several times if I was doing okay (dental phobia)...
I spoke to Dr. Albright about a procedure that I thought about, and she asked why I wanted the procedure done. Really! In the end I decided that I really didn't need to do the procedure. I should mention that it would have been an expensive treatment. I really appreciated the conservative approach.
My entire experience was seamless and stress free! -

I never really thought it was possible to love a dentist but I LOVE Dr. Albright and her staff! She is the most thorough, cost-conscious, considerate, and jovial dentist I have ever been to (and I've been to many across the nation)!
Starting from my phone contact with her office, Akeesa at the front desk was EXCEEDINGLY pleasant and worked really hard to fit me in during my tight timeline, even after I missed an appt without notice. They sent the paperwork by mail well in advance and were ready to roll with my file when I arrived.
Dr. Albright did the most thorough dental exam I've ever gotten, doing like 30 x-rays on her fancy 10% radiation x-ray machine. She was excited to explain that an x-ray exam this thorough would last me five years and best of all cost me NOTHING with my insurance!
I've never had a dentist treat me with so much respect, taking her time to go through every detail of my exam and x-ray results with me and answering all my questions as if I was the only patient she had that day. I felt really valued when she explained the problem areas using the medical technical terminology and then explaining it more thoroughly instead of just patronizingly dumbing it down to what SHE THOUGHT I should know/do.
I also LOVE that she's a woman of color and has women of all ages working in her office. All her fabulous staff members made sure I was informed and comfortable for the whole painless, seamless experience.
LOVE Dr. Albright!! I'll never see another dentist again!! -

Dr. Albright and her staff are awesome. They are willing to work with your budget and timing so as to get the most out of your insurance. This is the first dentist--and I've had many because I moved a lot--who has taken me seriously when I said my metabolism caused me to go through the numbing agents quickly. She is intuitive about my insecurities and sensitivities, and skilled at reading body language. I mean, both her and her staff know what I want and what I'm about to say before I say it. Maybe she should rename her practice "Dr. Sharon Albright, D.D.S., Psychic Dentist." Her work is consistently careful and well executed. She's not overly chatty or pushy, but not standoffish. What a wonderful balance! Dr. Albright even came in on a day she didn't usually come in to finish some work on my teeth. I am no longer afraid of dentists!
