Dear Shark's Cove,

Your disgusting, stupid buffalo bites made me sick. Therefore, I hate you.

Not so fondly,
Marina

PS. Your waitresses and service suck too.

Shark's Cove is the best place at the pier to go watch games and drink beer, but I don't think there is any reason to come here otherwise (unless you want to play pool, which whenever i have gone are always covered up so call ahead if it's a game day to see if you can actually play). There are a lot of TVs at different angles so no matter where you are sitting you can easily see the games. They have Sam Adams Seasonal on tap and cheese fries, and I've never had a problem with their service (smile...it really helps getting someone to help you). It's bar food so don't go in to get food unless you've been drinking a lot first, because there are tons of other yummier places. During football season they cover up the pool tables and turn them into regular tables so there is even more seating.  I personally like Shark's Cove more than the Underground for watching games, but I can't really pinpoint why. If you're a Steelers fan (i'm not) then this bar can be your home away from home during football season.

When it gets dark and you're tired of taking in the scenery, this is a decent place to pop in and unwind some more with some alcohol and pool which go great together.

It does it's job as a sports bar with plenty of TV's for you to catch whatever happens to be hot at the moment.

I took away one star because my friend Mark doesn't work here anymore. That makes me sad.
Always had a good time here, strong drinks, good sports, and good pool tables.

Was here on Monday night.  Place did not seem that crowded.  Plenty of TVs to watch the football game.  This place has the SLOWEST service ever.  Food was average.  My Cajun Chicken sandwich was suppose to be blackened but really was only grilled.  Also we had the clams as an appetizer.  They were tasty, but not enough were given to us and they were served to us on paper plates...wtf.  I hope there are better offerings in the area.

This place is very chill. I did like the guy to girl ratio. Big drawback, it was pretty busy, but there was only ONE bartender!!! Seriously people, one should never have to wait that long to get the bartenders attention and then the dude takes forever to make/pour the effin drinks. Whatevs. My buddies and I played some pool and foosball, had a few drinks (reg. prices) and then went over to Underground.

Good place to have a pitcher and relax..

The place isn't packed, and I usually just jump to the bar.  Beer selection is okay, mixed drinks are so-so.

I personally like the Manhattan Beach location better (albeit, it not having pool tables like Hermosa),  especially for the times when you want to watch multiple games at once.  Prices are on the high side for a sports bar.   Probably a fun place to be when UCLA and USC fans are throwing punches for their games.

This is the first bar I ever went to when I moved to Hermosa Beach.  The bartenders here have always been really kind, and it is the best sports bar around.  The food is good if you stick to the basics, burgers, chicken fingers, buffalo wings, appetizers.  When you start to get fancy with your orders, you will watch the quality drop.
Normally I stick to dive bars, but when there is a good game on, or a few good games (like March Madness) then I head here because they have a KAGILLION televisions.  The place is never crowded (except super bowl, etc) and there is pool if you feel like, some ghetto electronic darts and tons of sitting space.  When I don't feel like dealing with the crowds then I head here and I am never dissapointed.

Shark's cove is the perfect pit stop between The Shore, Underground, UCC and the various spots on the pier during the mini pubcrawls my friends and I always end up on since we have ADD and can't handle staying in one spot all night. We usually pop in for a round or two then continue on our quest to hit over 10 bars in one night....

The food here isn't that great, but it's easy to get drinks from the bar or the waitresses and it's never really too crowded. I'm not much of a pool player, but I've played here a few times and in my opinion it's a bit expensive but hell... what do I know about what playing pool is supposed to cost? So maybe it's cheap in comparison to other places.

Mini Paper Plates!  Unbelievable?!!??  Yes, the nachos were great but they would have tasted so much better on a real plate.  I mean come on, can't you get some dishware at a restaurant supply store?  Is really gonna break the bank?  Anyway, this place is pretty big and has lots of seating.  It's a good place to catch a big game on one of their several tv screens.  The service is decent and friendly.

Lots of pool tables and beer (I like both of those). Only 4 stars because the pool is a little pricey...but you won't find a better spot to play pool on full size tables for miles.

Cleanest women's room in a long time.

I know nothing else of this place other than there is no cover charge and it appeared to have lots of pool tables.

good place for pool and sports but it strikes me as a bit more neglected than its counterpart to the north.
