Because this "company" has two place on Yelp, I was obligated to paste my wife's truncated review with my comments in brackets.

The other name they have is "S" Vanlines where this review is also posted
http://www.yelp.com/bi...

To preclude this, I'd like to say that if yelp offered negative numbers, I'd offer up a "negative five" as my rating for this joke of a moving company.

Noelle wrote....

After reading such glowing praise on Yelp, I must say I was greatly disappointed....

The team assigned to our move four men, only two of whom spoke English....

[This was a great hindrance because whenever I asked for a box to be placed in a specific room......."Duuhhh...."...that was the expression I got from them]

....My husband ran down and picked up coffee and donuts....

[...which they proceeded to stage on our antique travel-trunk which belonged to Noelle's great grandmother who was a Hollywood actress.  I had to bring out a card table and because of the aforementioned language barrier, they STILL used the trunk as their personal locker/bar table.]

"Itziq" [if that's his real name] looked over our apartment and small yard and assured us that everything would fit in the [25 foot] truck.

[Lie - we told them that we had a three bedroom apartment with a lot of stuff - the office grossly mis-judged the size of truck to send, and it wasn't even their truck! They RENTED!]

As the move began, we noticed an excessive use of packing tape...

[Because of this, I now am the proud owner of a three foot in diameter ball of spent tape and shrink wrap they left in my driveway.  mind you I had to compact it down to that size because it was strewn across 20 feet of the driveway and garage.  We were told they'd use blankets.  My impression was that they'd move the units into the truck, then drape them with blankets.  Nope - they "entombed" pretty much everything with tape, shrink wrap, blankets and then more tape to hold the blankets onto said items.  Additionally, they insisted on tearing all the wires out of the back of my entertainment components and then putting the stack into a box. They did this with many items and then charged me for the time AND materials.  What should have been a 5 hour move was 9 and a half - and we paid]

...a set of original Danish modern units I inherited from my grandparents...the tape stripped the finish off.

[I have been pulling tape off of things in my new home for a full couple weeks because of the excessive use packing material]

They...ran tape across the tops of [open topped milk] crates loaded with books...ruined the [rice paper] dust cover of an art book...

To add insult to injury, they implied that our move was taking too long, and then informed us that they would be unable to carry all of our belongings.

[See aforementioned LIE.  They were booked for TWO moves that day and their rush job took it's toll on many of our belongings.  They all but threw boxes around my garage, ignoring the writing on the boxes which indicated "FRAGILE" and "THIS SIDE UP"]

Even with the assistance of two friends, we wound up making a second trip...

[You think that for services not rendered we'd get a discount, right?  WRONG.  our estimate was $735.00 - our actual GOUGED price?  $1,735.00.  Because of them we are in a financial "spot" now.]

When they arrived at our new address, I was rushed through the final paperwork, and pressured into giving the team a $200 tip...

If I were present, this tip would not have been paid and I would have called his office personally, and given them the Doctor Cox treatment from the TV show, "Scrubs" - ohhhh trust me, I can do it, too]

....the movers left a gouge in the wall on the stair case, and another on in the ceiling of the master bedroom........

[...and there were many damaged items, as was mentioned by my wife - they handled EVERY-thing as flippantly as trash.  They shouldn't be moving furniture, no, they should be working in the BAGGAGE department at SFO - they'd fit right in...]

....they denied the "cash bonus"  we were told about ...[could be] false advertising or out-and-out fraud....[pick one]

[The cash bonus we speak of is why we chose this company, in addition to their low-ball and dishonest and misleading estimate.   Apparently, the company offers a cash bonus for what they call a "perfect move" - naturally, this would attract our business because it speaks volumes about the track record.  I'm beginning to think that each of the positive reviews listed here are SHILLS hired by "S" movers, or employees themselves trying to make themselves look good.]

We [have filed] a claim...

[In closing, they put the "SHAM" in Shamrock.  They low ball a price, hire shifty personnel, bait and switch, and display a flagrant disregard for your belongings.  Hire Mayflower or North American- spend the money - don't get screwed like we did.]
