Friendly staff, they do a good job with grooming. I can at least trust them with my dogs which is more than I can say for a most places.

I took my little 4 lb shih tzu/maltese here and asked for an inch cut all around. And it took all day and when i picked him up, they also made me pay before they brought him out and i also tipped. When they brought him out i didnt even recognize him. he was practically shaved all over but his ears were untouched and long to the ground. basically he looked like JOE DIRT. (thats not the kind of cut youre supposed to give a shih tzu)
I've taken my Pomeranian here 5-6 times to be groomed. They do a decent job, but it really depends on what groomer is working that day. I've never had a bad experience (knock on wood) and my Pom always looks good.
Keep in mind I don't have them cut my Poms hair, so I can't really rate them on haircuts. In fact, they advised against this as most owners don't like how it looks plus their heavy coats shield them from the heat/cold (which I also heard from a dog trainer, so at least I know they are giving accurate info).
Pros:
Easy to get an appointment
$40 for a bath, good brush, sanitary trim, nails, secrete glands (which in itself is worth $40)
They do a decent job (much better than large chains like PetSmart)
Staff is very friendly and seem to be pet lovers
Cons:
They keep your dog there almost the entire day (which I guess can be pro). All dogs must be there at 9am (11am on Sunday). I usually pick him up around 3-4pm.
Inconsistent with grooming (depends on the groomer) - one time they didn't cut all the large mats out of his coat - one time he came back damp - one time they shaved half his butt hairs off
Overall, they do a good job and the staff is friendly. MUCH better than the PetSmart anyday.

There are only two groomers I will use at Shampoo Chez. One is Will -- he does a very thorough and consistent job. The other person is a Russian woman, but I can't recall her name at the moment.
I had a bad experience with a young woman at Shampoo Chez that groomed our dog a few months ago. Like a previous reviewer, this person returned our dog shaved down to the skin (for no good reason). This, after we had discussed and agreed on an appropriate length. In retrospect, I should have known because she was asking some strange questions and making comments about how hard it would be to "only" take off a 1/2 inch of hair (there was no good reason she couldn't do this).
All in all, I think this place does a good job and the prices are competitive. They have also done a good job with the self-service dog wash.
The Facts:
I would never ever set foot in this grooming salon under the current ownership of Cheryl Harden.
Dropped off my greyhound to be washed, dried, and nails trimmed.
Received my greyhound two and half hours later with three severely cut back nails (to the quick) and one of them was a bleeder and bled unknown to me in the car and again profusely at home.
Called the owner to ask why I was not notified that her quicks had been cut into. Owner reveals she has no idea what I'm talking about and that her groomer didn't do it. So...I just took her to the groomer and three of my dog's nails are cut to the quick AND the dewclaw was bleeding and her groomer had nothing to do with it?
Owner weakly "apologizes" and adds 'I don't know what you want me to do about it'. I replied I would respectfully like my $40 back. She staunchly refused with an ugly attitude and mentioned that she has been in the business for 14 yrs yada yada yada. When I mentioned she would be getting a vet bill if I needed to take my dog in she informed me that she would not pay any amount of it and that she wanted to personally have the veterinarian call her and other crap. She eventually refunded me half.
If you want good customer service, a friendly smile, and a professional who seems to really care about your dog...keep looking.

Shampoo Chez is a no-frills, not fancy pet grooming place in Campbell, but they know what they're doing. I have a Persian who hates to be groomed. More than once he has come back from expensive groomers with cuts or sedated (!). Shampoo Chez gets him cut quickly and painlessly and he looks good when they're finished. If you have a hard to groom cat, this is a good place to go. They're also easy to get an appointment with, which is nice.
I have to give Paris a bath. Trust me my bathtub isn't going to work out so well (that's another review) I took Paris in and it was so nice to get him washed and clean and ready for company. He definately doesn't like it but, he puts up with me :) so does the staff!
I've been in search of a groomer and decided to try this place since it received good reviews. BAD idea. I took my 9 month old maltese there for a "trim" and was comforted when the groomer asked me what I had in mind for a trim. We agreed on 1/2 an inch. I should've known when she warned me that as this is his first time to the groomers it may not turn out perfect. I should've known... The told me he'd be ready by 4pm, I dropped him off at 10am but did not receive any calls by 4pm. I called them and they said he'd be ready in 30 min. I picked him up and my poor baby was shaved with BALD spots!! WTH???? On top of that it cost me $75 (I even tipped), I should've known when they made me pay before even bringing my poor baby out... If you've had a good experience here, be truly thankful.

We bring our Standard Poodle to Victoria and she comes back happy and beautiful every time. It's the best clip she's had at any groomer in the south bay.
I have a Maine Coon cat , and she's a larger gal and can't always care for her luxuriously thick fur coat the way she should, so I bring her here to be groomed. The groomer does a good job, gives her a nice little pedicure, too, and everyone comes out alive, which is good, b/c Kashani HATES being groomed (loves how she looks and feels after, though).
Being a pet groomer is a thankless business.
You've got busy people who think their animals are children, and their children want to bite, scratch, and claw you. And that's before they hit the water. Who would go into this business voluntarily?
Fortuntely, the parents of those wonderful fuzzy children have a pet grooming salon with a large heart who DID decide to go into this business. And they do a wonderful job to boot.
Can you say skunk? Yup, my dog thought that skunks were wonderful, and tried to meet them every chance she got. The people at Shampoo Chez gave her the best possible de-skunking bath possible, and got deep cleaning done also.
One of our cats got sick on the way to the store, so they kindly said our cat didn't look well and suggested we cancel the appointment for another day, and no extra charge thankyouverymuch.
The people here really try their best. They have days of being overwhelmed, being bit and dealing with moms and dads who think their precious bundle of fur is the most important item to hit the grooming salon. I've occasionally had my little buddies returned not up to par, but a quiet word before my next drop off makes things right again. They do their best and try hard, and frankly, no one's perfect so I'm satisfied.
Their prices are resonable to slighly lower than competing grooming salons. In the few years I've used them, they've had slight price increases. Considering our standard of living increased 8% in one year alone, I think these people are being moderate in their increases.
Remember these groomers do a good job, remind them of a deep cleaning if necessary (they will do it well) and most of all, buy a little something from their shop to keep them in business, and yes, TIP WELL. Your little lovejoy just bit the person who made them clean enough to enter your home again.
