The infamous Mad Sq Park location, clearly the flagship to UWS or Citi Field. Yes, the wait will be 1+ hour in the spring/summer and 30+ mins in the fall/winter. It's not a super friendly line and the people-watching is less entertaining than a Union Sq or a Wash Sq..... deal with it.
Onto the food. Cheeseburgers and fries both tasty. Sundaes and milkshakes are delicious. For $.50 you can add malt to your milkshake which is an obvious sign they know what they're doing. Also, they switch up their custards regularly. Check their website for their custard calendar by location.
4.5 stars!
The cheeseburger was delicious! I think this place has the best beef patties ever! It was so juicy and the juice literally squirts in your mouth once you take a bite. The cheese was also very good. Makes me wonder - if you combine In N Out buns, sauce, fresh tomatoes and lettuce with Shake Shack's beef patties and cheese, would it be the WORLD'S best burger?? Favorite burgers thus far include In N Out, Father's Office, and Shake Shack.
The cheese fries were also good. I don't know how they make their cheese but it's not too sharp like cheddar or too soft tasting like mozzarella. They must've seasoned it or something!
I'm going to start with a disclaimer: I have a natural aversion to things with cult followings (ie, Dave Matthews, Harry Potter... etc.)
That said, this place is seriously the worst, even if you don't mind standing in line (which I actually haven't the last couple of times.)
Here's why: The burgers are not even that good. The meat always comes out tasting really weird, and the Shack Sauce (supposedly the best part) is not even discernible in most cases. Also, the fries just have nothing going for them. Even when they're doused in cheese. Something is wrong with that.
Tourists: Yay! Go to shake shack! Buy a t-shirt!
NYers: Walk a few more blocks to GoodBurger for sumptuous meat and nice thick shakes.
The wait here is Ridiculous. After a night of drinking, the last thing I wanted to do was stand in line for to grab a burger, but since we're from out of town....we had to try this place. We waited 1.5 hours to place our order...and another 20 mins to get our food. Go to the one on Columbus Ave instead. It's an actual restaurant (not a shack in the park) and the line always seems shorter.
Order the Shack Stack. That seems to be the burger worth ordering if you love cheese. It comes with a huge chunk of fried cheese which gushes out after you take a bite.
I did feel like yacking after i ate....but that was because of the hangover....not the food.
As I crept closer to my destination, I peered over the dense brush under a cool canopy of elm and oak. Rain fell light throughout the late afternoon while street lights lit the wet byways of Gotham. Dusk just settled in midtown and I pondered,
"Is there a massive line for dinner?"
"Will I manage to eat and make my evening appointment?"
Well, lo and behold, I really scored when I discovered just only 3 diners in front of me queuing for a delicious burger. Egads! Should have I had bought a lottery ticket as well? No time. I wanted to experience first-hand what others have been raving about.
Moments later after ordering, I was rewarded with one of the finest burgers I've ever eaten. It'a a superlative I rarely accord - none the less, I chose wisely. Simple yet satisfying. The plain Cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato and oh so lip-smacking good sauce.
Supposedly, according to seriouseats dot com, the meat melange is 50:25:25 blend of sirloin, chuck, and brisket. What an interesting choice! Moist, juicy, not too salty and clearly a winner. The french fries are so well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The Shack served heaping amounts and each fry yielded a satisfying crunch.
I even scored front row seating. What a place to people-watch scurrying past the Shack through Madison Square Park. I deducted one star for the possibility of their famously long lines.
When you need a webcam to check there store front, yeah, they're that good.
I work right across the street from this place, but i've boycotted it for over a year because the lines are normally ridiculously long. I've also always felt that for those who are willing to wait about 45 minutes for a cheeseburger...this shack must be seriously overhyped.
Finally, tonight i decided to stop by on the way home (a little before 5pm), when there was no line, and try this famous burger- one bite and i thought this is GLORIOUS- the cheese, chunky meat patty, relish sauce and tomatoes all together are just so melt in your mouth juicy!
Would i wait 45 minutes for a burger? No. But this is certainly a must-try if you want to taste one of NYC's best burgers.
Try stopping by between 3-5pm during low peak hours.
I've found an almost perfect substitute for my favorite In-N-Out burger in NY!!! What convinced me to check out their burger was the constant comparison to In-N-Out, so I figured it had to be good! I LOVE In-N-Out double double animal style, like you have NO IDEA. That's what I really miss about my life in L.A.....my life is not the same without In-N-Out burgers!!! So just imagine my joy when I finally had the chance to try the NY version of In-N-Out burger!! Shackburger was AWESOME!!! I love the thick juicy patty, almost too much but I'm totally OK with it! The patty tasted flavorful and fatty, but in a good way. So yummy! And guess what, there were only 3 people in line, can you believe it??? It was meant to be my day, it was waiting just for me!!! Here I come!!!
So, why only 4 stars? Because In-N-Out offers a better value in my opinion. At In-N-Out, not only I don't have to wait in crazy line, but also I can even buy the burger from drive-thru and it's a lot cheaper! In-N-Out, In-N-Ooooout. That's what a haaaaaamburger's aaaall about! It says it all, so profound!
This review is about the CUSTARD ONLY
When I do try the actual food, I hope it's as good as the custard.
I haven't had frozen custard since I've been living in New York, which is about 6 months. Friday night I had a fever, and the only cure was frozen custard.
So I dragged my cold but not too cold ass to the Shake Shack to experience the fame. The burger line was lonnnnnng and I'm impatient. But then I saw the B side/line/whatever with only one person in it. Woo hoo! Custardy goodness awaits!
Got a hot fudge sundae. The hot fudge itself was meh, but the actual vanilla custard was sooooooooo good. I'm an ice cream weirdo. I only REALLY like vanilla. And I don't branch out often. And I'm picky about frozen vanilla flavored things. This stuff was excellent. And the portion was enormous. But I finished it. And then my teeth hurt from being so cold. It was worth it. Nom nom nom. Frozen custard places abound in the midwest, but this is among the best I've had. Not THE best, but 2nd or 3rd. Delish.
5:30 pm on a Sunday night still waited 40 mins from the line to my mouth. Been to the upper west location before and was not thrilled. I really tried to give SS a chance to vindicate all of your ratings but i have to say that there is something really horrifically wrong. Not sure if it's my taste buds or i didn't get the payoff everyone else did.
Overly salted, under charred, and the meatless taste the second time around. Only 2 because of not living up to the hype and the long ass wait.
Pros: nice to see trees and stuff
Cons: the wait for no reason at all - just like Ippudo.
My list for burger places for under $10:
1. Burger Joint
3. Licks - Toronto when they were still at one location in the Beaches
5. McHales/Old Town
8. Five Guys/Shake Shack
Ok so this place is about lines whether you're at this location or the UWS one. Deal with it.
If it were raining babies I have no doubt people would still queue up for the joint and dodge/catch the cooing projectiles.
I love the shackburger, the red velvet ice cream and if I could have a pump of the cheese they put on the fries installed in my apartment I'd consider it.
Royale does it better.
We knew we wanted to try Shake Shack out...but after coming from California and having In and Out Burger...it's kind of hard to compare. We stood in line like lemmings and ended up with a box that included a Single Shack Burger, Fries & Hopscotch. Burger was pretty good, meat was tender and not dry, Fries were fries and the Hopscotch was sweet and sweet!
The location was beautiful, especially at dusk when we got there. It was nice sitting underneath the trees and enjoying our afternoon snack. The experience was great and I'm glad we had the opportunity to check it out. I wish that we had a larger appetite, just to say we had the full experience. Until next time though, 3 stars from the girl from California!
Definitely way way way way way overrated. I have had ridiculously good burgers in my lifetime, this was not one of them. I dare you to taste the difference between this and a Wendy's Burger.
The location can not be beat, but the fries and burger are mediocre. The only thing worth standing in line for is their shakes. THOSE are amazing. And watching the obese squirrels fight with dogs. That is fun. But if you see the long line and wonder if it's worth it..it's not. Go to many of manhattans better burger places.
This particular location only has 1080 reviews so far; so it looks like the jury is still out. Allow me to be the deciding voice. The shakes are amazing, the burgers are good, and the fries are terrible.
I had the peanut butter and vanilla shake. My was that good! I could have one of those everyday for the rest of my life and be pretty happy. The burger is smallish which I liked since I could enjoy its taste without be inundated by it. The bun held up and the burger was not cooked the whole way through (a good thing) making for a great sandwich. The fries were crinkled allowing for too much surface area affecting the taste for the worse. They were also overly salted, so they were not particularly enjoyable.
Be aware that the lines are long here. On a cool November day, the line took about 30 minutes to get through. Once you give your order, you wait again for your order to be prepared. I actually had to wait in line twice since the credit card machine was down today and I had to fetch money from an ATM. They take credit cards, but obviously not always. Heat lamps are situated all through the seating area, so it is possible to enjoy your sandwich on site in the middle of winter should you choose. Also wine and beer are available for purchase which is, I think, unusual for a fast food stop. Recommend.
Listen up, people:
Nowhere-- I repeat-- NOWHERE is worth waiting in line 45 minutes for a measly hamburger. Not Shake Shack, not Burger Joint, not anywhere.
You aren't supposed to wait up to an hour for a hamburger. That shit's supposed to be "fast food."
If you do decide to spend your entire lunch break, or the better part of a beautiful weekend afternoon, waiting in a gargantuan line for a burger that will only take you 5 minutes to eat, then simply put: you are a moron. I'm sorry to be so blunt, but I wholeheartedly believe that.
If you're one of those people who consider standing in line at the Shake Shack one of those very "New York experiences," then you've got the WRONG idea of what New York is all about. (You might as well scratch Magnolia's Bakery off your list, too.)
All that said, the burgers here aren't bad, but they're no better than ANY OTHER BURGER, YOU CAN GET ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE CITY. And I guarantee you, you will not have to wait anywhere near as long if you go someplace--anyplace!-- else.
I will say this: their custards & concretes are awesome. (They don't call it the "Burger Shack," you know). But you'd be an idiot to wait in long-ass lines for that too.
Simply put, don't believe the hype. Don't feel like you MUST wait 45 minutes in a Shake Shack line b/c it's the "hip" thing to do, or b/c they have the best hamburgers on the planet. B/c you'd be way wrong on both points.
The burgers here are
good but didn't change my life.
The line is too long.
It is sprinkling in NYC but I'm on vacation and ready to have fun even with the weather being against me. Got here about 11:30 am and the wait was not long. We ordered 2 shake burgers, 1 cheeseburger, Arnold Palmer and cheese fries. I wanted to try the frozen custard which everyone is raving about, but it's too darn cold and I'm getting over the flu. I'm crazy enough to sit outside while it's sprinkling but not crazy enough to have a frozen custard... eh? I was in line ordering and decided to pick up a shake shack t-shirt for my brother. The line behind me was getting longer and I felt bad that I was holding up one of the cashiers out of 3 cashiers. I told my cashier that I could pick it up later as I didn't want to hold up the line. He was so sweet!! He told me that he is there to service me and his attention is towards my order. What great service!!
The shake burger is a little like an In and Out burger, but BETTER!! The buns were toasted to perfection and the burger was gooey and oozing with cheese....drooling just thinking about it. The cheese fries were amazing...crinkle cut fries with just the right amount of cheese drizzled on top. This place was in Madison Square Park. Even though I was freezing, I had good food and good company to make this another wonderful mid morning in NYC!!
Oh and another thing...there are so many little squirrels running around. They are not shy in getting close to you when you are giving them food. Very cute!! Overall a great place to hang out and have lunch.
Embarrassingly I had not tried Shake Shack until this past week. No idea why it took so long as I love burgers and heard so many great things about this place.
The cheeseburger was a grease filled mess of goodness! Grilled to perfection with a great bun, tomatoes, cheese and lettuce.
The fries, while a tad bit too salty, were still also very tasty. I finished them all in about 3-5 minutes.
I will be back to try pretty much everything else on the menu soon. I have been craving another burger since I stopped in here for lunch three days ago.
I feel a bit disgusted writing the 1070th review on Shake Shack. Kind of like the disgusted feeling I had when waiting in line for an hour and a half on a random Sunday afternoon.
In line, I kept whining and complaining, not being able to understand why EVERY time I come here, there's a huge frikkn line. I mean, in the end, it's still just a burger right?
It may be because I had to wait a long time in line, and the anticipation packed on. It could be because I was starving by the time I took a bite of this burger. It may also be because I was really just in the mood for a juicy burger. Whatever the case was... the hype is right my friends, it is a DAMN good burger.
Okay, i'm thinking about it now.. and i want one again. sh*t, does this mean i have to wait an hour in line again??? It's okay.. it's worth it :)
I know everyone is probably going to hate on me for a 1-star review of shake shack, but here's why:
$7.00 for a sandwich that's smaller than my palm?! Seriously WTF.
Was it good? Yes. Did it change my life? No. Hell f'ing no.
Honestly the $2.00 burgers at 5-guys and In-n-Out are WAY better. I think this was just a smart guys attempt to steal money from the money throwing former i-bankers in NYC. And it worked brilliantly.
Ugh, I'm still reeling at how small my burger was - it's shameful to waste a GIGANTIC bag on a little poo-pellet sized sandwich.
I actually left here and went to Mamoun's and Kati Roll for a real filler. I suggest you do the same.
So for some reason, everyone seems to compare Shake Shack to In-N-Out. They are both awesome burgers, but they are not comparable! These are burgers (for lack of a better analogy) that are in different weight classes! No one in their right mind compares Manny Pacquiao (5'6" 130lbs) to Wladimir Klitschko (6'6" 240lbs). They are both the best in their respective weight classes - competing against each other just doesn't make any sense! I see two key differences:
1. Price: A Shake Shack meal will run you ~50% more than a comparable In-N-Out meal.
Double ShackBurger ($7.25) + French Fries ($2.75) + Fountain Soda ($2.00) = $12.00
Double-Double ($4.40) + French Fries ($2.00) + ($1.50) = $7.90
2. Competition: In-N-Out is a fast-food burger chain (150+ locations on the West Coast) competing against the likes of McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, Jack-in-the-Box, and Carl's Jr. On the other hand, Shake Shack is a boutique burger "chain" (2.5 locations in New York City) competing against the likes of Burger Joint, Corner Bistro, Bill's Bar and Burger, JG Melon. I'm not sure anyone asks "Hey, should we go to McD's or Shake Shack?"
Both burgers are awesome in their right, and I love both burgers (and both have great shakes too). But while I'm stuck here in NYC, Shake Shack will satisfy my burger craving just fine.
My love for shake shack has always been there from the beginning. The warm buttery buns and juicy beef patties covered in cheese keep me coming back for more. When I'm away for too long, it calls me back for another rendezvous. The lines can be ridiculous at times, but it's totally worth the wait to be reunited with that special burger.
Oh, and the frozen custard is pretty damn good too. :)
Pretty good, but not near worthy of the praise it gets. I never went here even though I used to live only a few blocks away, but decided to give it a shot when I was working down the block. There was a line, but it was only 10-15 minutes and I can deal with that. I decided on a double shack burger with fries, and thankfully I remembered to ask for pickles, lettuce, tomato, and onions on the side. The staff was very friendly, but the whole buzzer for when you're order is ready thing confused me. Not that it isn't convenient, but I would've rathered that they had some big fat obnoxious guy at the window screaming out peoples orders. That would've been fantastic, but I digress.
The burger was pretty small for a double cheeseburger (and for the price) at first glance, but it ended up being pretty filling. The burger was good, could've been juicier, better spiced, and had more flavor. The fries, however, were leigitimately great (nice and crispy). The onions were diced nice and small which was good, but it would've been better if they had cook them up. The pickles were pretty good, but two tiny slices wasn't what I had in mind. The shack sauce wasn't all that special for a special sauce, either. Overall, this was a solid burger, which I did like; but for the acclaim and borderline-religious rants that this place gets here, I expected a hell of a lot more.
This place tries to take the all-American burger, clean it up with overhyped "organic" crap and the like, and then serve it to Manhattanites. While I appreciate the effort, I ain't impressed. The best burgers are not made by "restauranteurs"; they're made by a pissed off guy who knows what he's doing and a grill. If this place changes the way you feel about burgers, you've never had a real burger in your life.
This is one of the best burgers in NYC. Yes, there is always a line but it is worth every minute. I particularly like this location in the park because whats better than eating a burger in the park.
The burgers are always fresh and the buns are always incredibly soft. I always get the cheese fries. They have this cheese sauce that is to die for. None of that nacho cheese processed business. This stuff is the real thing.
Every once in a while they will have their salted caramel on the custard menu. Believe me when I say that this is the best custard they have. When they don't have the salted caramel, I get the concrete with toffee, chocolate chunks, and caramel.
One last this, check the shack cam on the website to make sure there isn't too long of a line before you go. This certainly comes in handy:)
One of the best burgers for its value in NYC.
I have only been in Summer so I cannot attest to the other seasons' lines. You know, it's all touristy and whatnot so you have to wait approx 45 min -18 hours before anything gets actually eaten.
A fun experience, perfect for a nice afternoon in the park.
Team frozen custard!
If not for the stupid line, I think I will come here more often. This legendary burger place is comparable to West Coast In N Out Burger. Similar size, similar secret sauce and equal hype. I have to say something in that patty is addictive. It is so juicy, flavorful and fresh. The meat doesn't taste frozen or ground. The sauce makes it all the better.
The size is medium and you could get a side of fries or their creamy rich shake to go with. Both will put you into food coma and perfect to walk around the park afterwards.
shake shack has thought me: never pay more than $5 for a cheeseburger. partner that with a frozen custard(choc, peanut butter, bananas) and you'll be a happy man. last summer the lines were long. today was mercifully not. happy al fresco diners all around exclaiming content in a babel of tongues. for me too, madison park has become a destination.
The Shake Stack burger is AMAZING! I'm not really sure if I actually liked the burger, because I was in love with the fried portobello mushroom filled with cheese that is served on top. It was so good! I'm craving it right now and I can't wait until I can have another one.
The cheese fries and the lemonade were also good. The lemonade wasn't too sweet or sour. Just perfect.
I highly recommend you go out and try either the 'shroom burger or the Shake Stack burger! Well worth the long lines. You won't be disappointed :)
I think I'd like to rate it 3.5 stars, but I'm totally not willing to give it 4. I can't say I agree with the NY adage that the longer the wait, the better the food. I know it's not that New Yorkers don't have better burgers in town, and I definitely won't say that this place is ALL hype, BUT I still definitely think that the hype is a major factor in why it continues to be popular.
We both got shack burgers (although considering my disappointment now I wished I had gotten the Shack Stack). The meat was pretty nicely seasoned, the bun was soft (although I'm pretty sure it was a standard Martin's potato bun), and the toppings were fresh. The shack sauce wasn't quite plentiful or flavorful enough. It was a pretty good burger. Better than In-N-Out? Yes, definitely. But meritorious of over 1,000 five star yelp reviews? I don't agree. The best burger I've ever paid for? Definitely not. The fries looked like the frozen Ore-Ida crinkle cuts I can buy at any random grocery store in the U.S....but while they weren't mind blowing, they weren't as bad as they looked-crisp and nicely salted. Their Shackmeister Ale wasn't half bad, either.
We waited about 15 minutes on a nice Friday afternoon around 2:00. Had I waited longer than 30 minutes for Shake Shack's burger...I'd have been sort of upset.
I don't have much to add, but I am just so happy to have finally experienced Le Shake Shack recently and now all I can think about is going back everyday.
Also, if you speak French, mad good grounds to pick up a honey. I'm always hearing French 'round these parts. They love their frites.
i know this place has 1041 reviews already so anyone reading this should already understand / soon comprehend the awesomeness. I used to live right by this place and it was my favorite swing-by. The line is ridiculously long, I know, but the secret is to be prepared! Snack early and then come to shake shack for a late dinner at 9pm! You don't even need to stalk the Shack Cam. This is when the true dedicated fans are separated from the casual ones! (Oh, it's also a small wait when it's raining too. Technique: Hold burger with one hand, umbrella in other. Munch appropriately.)
My favorites are the Shack Burger and the Shroom Burger. The Shack burger is just plain delicious and the Shroom Burger definitely wins creativity points. Where else can you get a mushroom burger fried to perfection with melted cheese oozing out from its sweet center? The shakes and custard are pretty decent (I really liked a seasonal flavor called Bee my Honey for Valentines day) but the burgers definitely take the spotlight. 5 Guys and In-and-out are solid contenders, but Shake Shack still reigns supreme. The cute park atmosphere is especially nice when its nice out too!
What a lovely place to have a quick bite to eat. Situated in a scenic park with sculptures and a fountain, the Shake Shack makes having a burger something special.
I got the Shackburger, with cheese, lettuce, tomato, Shack sauce. Fresh, clean taste, like you made it yourself. But much better!
The Vanilla Malt shake was so thick, the straw was a mindf**k. But when it finally reached my mouth, I was in milkshake heaven.
Can't wait for my next visit!
In LA, people RAAAAAVE about In-N-Out. I (sorta) used to be one of those people....until a Shake Shack burger hit my lips and I was a changed woman.
I went to see one of my best friends in NY and before I got there, she would not shut upppppp about Shake Shack. I think every other conversation leading up to my arrival revolved around this damn Shake Shack. So, I tried it (the burger). And died.
I can't believe that all of the years I lived in NYC and I never came to Shake Shack... After hearing about the long lines, I guess I was really turned off and just never went down there to try it. Well I finally was lucky enough to try the goodness that is Shake Shack on my recent trip back home. Boy oh boy was I pleased!!!
The burgers are amazing. Juicy, fresh, GREAT toppings. It's a bit messy, but all good burgers should be at least a little messy. And the cheese fries? OMG.. Delicious! And all for very little $$$. I didn't get a milkshake this time around. I'll reserve my 5th star for when I try the shakes.
If you are in NY, you MUST TRY SHAKE SHACK.
We've passed the SS several times but never had the time to wait in line so we made a special trip today to do so. The line looked REALLY long but only took 30 minutes to get thru.
I thought the food was great! The bun on the burger was excellent (as was the burger itself) and I usually don't like crinkle fries but I thought these were really good. The Chocolate shake was awesome as well and REALLY chocolately.
I didn't think the price was too bad (compared to other NYC prices), we had two burgers (one double and one single), 1 order of fries, a soda and a shake and it came to $21. If I can only spend $10 eating out in NYC I am a happy girl.
Everyone that worked here was really nice and polite which I've found to be a rarity here so it was definitely REFRESHING.
Don't be intimidated by the line, it looks longer than it really took.
In the words of Maeby, MARRY ME.
Where Upper West Side Shake Shack lacked, Flatiron Shake Shack delivered. My Shack Burger this time around was everything I was craving in a burger, and the fries.. my goodness, the fries were crisp and wonderful. Yeah, I know, I know. Two locations doesn't mean two different menus and recipes, but I'm telling ya, there's something about that Flatiron site that gives it its edge.
Dinner after a 2-hour trek was awesome up until my friend pointed out the little mouse emerging for food of its own. Origins of the little creature remain unknown, but you can bet that ball of fur was nothing short of cute. For that I judge no more.
The first time I went to Shake Shack was during my lunch break on the first day of a new job. I got downpoured on while waiting for my order and then I had to hide out in the train station, just me and my semi soggy food.
So even though my fries became wimpy and my Shroom burger looked half decent, I still absolutely LOVED it - especially that first bite of cheese ooze you get with the Shroom Burger. Delicious! But gone so fast. No wonder most people get two. One is good for me most of the time, but I hate how fast I eat those burgers!
The price is kind of a lot for a little burger, but once you know that you like it and are a good sport about it, the price doesn't seem that bad. The only downside is that I get hit with that heavy fast food coma but who cares? That's Shake Shizzle for ya.
And then after you chow down, go look at cute dogs at the Madison Square Park dog run!
As if they needed any more hype. But they totally deserve it.
I just moved here less than a year ago so my "life-long search" for the best burger in NYC is short-lived. Nonetheless, I am thoroughly convinced that Shake Shack has the tastiest burger that has ever grazed my taste buds. And this is coming from a girl who comes from the land of In-N-Out burgers.
I've had my lion's share of fancy gourmet $20 burgers and I do love me some kobe beef between buns with melted roquefort. But while most of these gourmet burgers mask the true flavor of the meat by adding bells and whistles, Shake Shack serves up a simple, tasty backyard-bbq-type burger. No frills. Just super duper tasty beef. And momma likes.
And their frozen vanilla custard deserves 3 stars on its own. It's like licking a cloud on a cold winter day while adorable puppies dance around you. I'm not even sure what that really means but it's that out-of-this-world. Good news is they have a separate line (B-Line, they call it) just for the non-burger orders.
Otherwise, yes, the line is ridonkulous. I've waited almost 2 hours once but I have no job so my time is not money. If the line is ever that long again, it might just be faster for me to venture over to their upperwest side location. And I'll do it, ye hear!
Stopped here for lunch last Sunday since the line wasn't crazy long for once.
I honestly don't get the hype. The shack burger was good, but not amazing, merely a little above average. A glorified in-n-out burger, and inferior to 5 guys. Fries were very average too. Maybe I'm missing something here? At least it is in Madison Sq. Park, so you have a nice spot to eat your food.
I waited in line and i can honestly say for nothing. i had a hotdog, that might be my issue, next time ill go for the burger.
its small its outdoors and in a park which is nice, but if you wait in line go for the burger it seems i made the mistake
