7 reviews for Shab's Pita Stroller
Okay had the Falafel stroller, it was very filling, soft moist falafel and fresh. We also shared the mezza platter which contained some loads of green taboulleh. As far as lunch spots go I think I am sold on my first visit.
I will be honest I am fan of figure-friendly and even though they weren't calorie counting sauces and dressings you can't knock there effort in showing the fact sheet. There was a busy lunchtime crowd but we were served fast and very much enjoyed everything we ordered.
2 of us ordered 2 strollers and the mazza platter for 21 dollars, quite a bit to spend on lunch but we rolled out of there with over-stuffed bellies.
Their gyros are yummy and fresh, and their baklava is amazing!
I have yet to try their falafel...I think I'll be getting that the next time I go. My only complaint is that the prices are rather high...
I have to agree with Khalid and Mia. The food is alright, not too many places to get it though. Falafel and Balaklava to die for! I didnt know pistachio could taste so good! The prices are slightly higher than some other restaurants, but its worth it from time to time.
The owner of Shab's and I were talking in there one day and he said how hard it was to keep good help and so forth. It seems like this is mostly a family operation, their son is about 15 years old and he's always there too.
A great lunch spot (particularly for Widener law students). The market has all kinds of great stuff, including Algerian dates which I requested, guava juice (my fav), and all kinds of olive oil.
The menu selection is good; lots of eastern middle eastern food - hummus, baba ghanouj, falafel. I've never had the beef, but I eat their falafel on a weekly basis. The tahini is great, and the hummus is slightly above average.
The sweetest thing though? The cute guy who works the grill. . . good eats + eye candy :) (And I'm sort of hoping he happens to come across this)
Great falafel sandwich and average grape leaves :)
Owners are nice and friendly, half of the place is groceries and the other half restaurant. It was kinda hard once the whole family started talking to me at once :) I guess they don't get to see many brown people.
gyro, taboulleh and baklavah made with love... yum, yum, yum.
costs a little more than I'd like to spend, but it's really, really good.
good alternative to the usual fare especially for the law student. but food was so so and the prices were too high. I blew $9 on a medium container of hummus. please.
