If you are using wash and fold at your local laundromat, you should stop doing so and start using sfwash. It's basically the same price but there is no lugging. Robo automation of your laundry.
Perhaps one day they will satisfy my laziness completely and actually put my clothes back in the dresser once they're clean.
Also, they are nice and the service runs very smoothly.
This is my first yelp review ever. I eat, drink, and take part in many other SF services. I've lived inte bay area all my life. But my yelp review hisitancy has always been one of consistency. How do I know that the hole-in-the-wall thai place I review doesn't have off nights other 360 days of the year?
SF wash has been consistant, reliable, and down right great! Art is extremely responsive. We get weekly service and ask that our pick up and drop off be within a 30 minute range. For over 4 years, every week, our laundry has been picked up and dropped off mostly within that range.
There have been very rare cases of missing laundry and if I've ever had an issue or needed to change my pick up or drop off day, Art has been extremeley accommodating.
We are able to specify how we want our laundry done and I know that I can count on them week after week. When I price out my time, the cost to send out our laundry is well worth it.
Thank you Art and team for enhancing my life - literally!!
This business is amazing!! I was having a tough week, allergy wise and decided to just clean EVERYTHING, but was too busy at work to deal..
They picked everything up on time, returned it wrapped nicely in paper within complimentary bags... and it was VERY INEXPENSIVE....
I've hauled much less laundry to wash and folds in the mission, and payed much more.
I don't thing I will ever do my own laundry again....
If only it was closer to my house....
Very nice staff, stay open for you if you need. Even returned $10 they found in one of my pockets! How refreshingly honest! Also, 24hr turnaround!
I really don't appreciate the comment written here. This review was from November and no one offered to reclean the items that didn't come out clean at that time.

I want to give more stars... I really do. Let me explain why I'm not...
disclaimer: I only had dry… Read more »
I live at the top of a very large hill. For three weeks, I stood at the top of the hill, old lady cart full of dirty chonies, staring down to the wash'n'fold below. And for three weeks, despite my best intentions, I repeated, "nah, f--k that noise, I am SO not pushing these clothes back up this hill in two hours."
And there you have it, folks. After going to a hair appointment in clothes that I'd normally wear to a wedding, after not being able to find my cat for twenty minutes because she was burrowed in a nearly 30 pound pile of dirties, I caved and scheduled a pick-up with SF Wash. They picked up my clothes Thursday morning, whisked them away, and returned them this morning still warm from the drier. They made magic happen without me leaving the house. Now if only I could find someone to take out the trash...
I had to rate this as "woohoo! as good as it gets" because for me, this is as good as it gets!
My husband and I rent a beautiful place in the city but there is no space for laundry appliances and because our landlord pays the water bill, we are not allowed to get ones. If it were not for the amazing rent control we would have picked up and gone elsewhere for the luxury of having a washer/dryer in the house. But sfwash makes it all bearable! Even better, they really make it very easy from the hour pickup-dropoff window to how amazingly well they sort all the clothes. I opened the cute little paper wrapped cubes and inside, perfectly sorted by clothing and color was our laundry. It smells wonderful too, exactly as if I had done it myself. (i.e. lots of fabric softener!)
sfwash is the best service in San Francisco since the days of Webvan and Kozmo. I am a huge fan!
The people who work here are very kind as well. I must have called 6 times to make sure that they would pick up and that everything was taken care of (it all just sounded too good to be true!) and every time I spoke with the same, patient guy he was continuously very, very nice to me.
Yay sfwash!
Returned after my positive experience to try out the dry cleaning service. They did a good job on some pricey items. Highly recommended (dry cleaning AND laundry delivery). Now if only they did alterations / repairs!

I just got my first order back from the wash and fold delivery service. My clothes came back clean… Read more »
Sadly...I almost never write Yelp reviews. I use Yelp ALL the time but rarely find the time to express my views on a service...until now. I've been using SF Wash to pick up and deliver my laundry since October 2008 and I couldn't be more pleased. I absolutely love them.
The staff that I have met when picking up or delivering my clothes are all extremely friendly. The services that they provide are perfect...extremely accommodating and customizable. I love that I am able to explain which clothes that I need to hang dry, dry clean, etc. and they handle all of my crazy "girl" laundering needs perfectly. I'm even able to choose which types of soap and softeners that I prefer. On several occasions, I have been able to contact them with short notice to change my laundry pickup time and they have responded immediately to confirm that they received my request and that it will be no problem to make the switch.
The thing that led to this review...I realized after my laundry had been picked up on Monday morning that I left my MUNI bus pass in the back pocket of my jeans. OH NO! It's the beginning of the month and going all month without a bus pass sounds extremely less than ideal. I emailed them to explain the mishap...and I was beyond excited today when I opened my delivered laundry to see my MUNI bus pass neatly taped to my laundry. They pulled it out before it even went in the washer! Amazing customer service, right?!
Anyway, I know this is a long review but well deserved. If you are like me...crazy busy schedule...the closest laundry mat is always over-crowded and doesn't seem to clean your clothes right...this is definitely the service for you! When you think about it, the extra money that you spend towards their services is well worth the time saved lugging all of your heavy laundry up and down your streets. Just make the call...it's life-changing really!
I can honestly say this service has changed my life. For over two years I've lived in a building with no laundry in a very busy neighborhood. There is no laundromat that is walking distance and I also don't have a parking spot. So the point is, if I want to do laundry, I need to carry it down stairs, go get my car, pick it up, drive to a laundromat, find parking, carry laundry there, wash/dry clothes, carry back to car, drive home, find parking, carry landry home and up stairs.
It literally drives me CRAZY.
So for a while now I've been lugging my laundry to a dry cleaners/wash&fold about 4 blocks away and paying a ton of money for Marina rates. Plus if I brought a lot of stuff that was heavy, I would have to drive there and find parking, perpetuating the pain in ass that is my problem.
Needless to say, when my neighbor told me about SF Wash I thought it was too good to be true. Well it is, but it's actually true. They already have a key to my building, so they pick up my laundry outside my apt. door every other week, and drop it back outside my apt. door 24 hours later. The first time I set it up, was like almost 7pm the night before while stuck at work, 5 minutes online filling out the info, and I got a call immediately from someone there to confirm everything. It was that easy.
Tomorrow will be my 3rd time using this service and I am already a HUGE fan and will refer this to all my friends! I wish I had thought of this service myself! Thank you!
I started out giving them a less than stellar review due to an issue that took some time to resolve, but resolve it they did. The second time around was a perfect experience (I even sent pillows !) When I've used them I've made it a point to send everything in my apartment, save the clothes on my back. 24 hours later, everything is returned neatly folded. This is the ultimate way to pamper yourself and, when you consider the time and effort involved in washing 30lbs + of laundry, it's very reasonable.
SF Wash is FANTASTIC. Not only is their service great and reasonably priced, but they've actually saved me more than once when I've forgotten to put in an order before 8pm. One time I didn't put the order in on time, and they actually PICKED UP AND RETURNED THE CLOTHES THE SAME DAY. Because they are awesome.
I also like to have a lot of things separated out and hung up to dry, and they've never confused my order or made a mistake. Great attention to detail, and who can resist fresh, clean-smelling laundry nicely folded in brown paper?
Bonus points for the eco-friendly detergent and dry cleaning options, too.
I used SF Wash to dry clean my work clothes (suits, shirts, etc.). When I arrived, I was met by a very unfriendly guy, who stuffed my clothes with very little care into a large canvas bag. Apparently, the clothes are then farmed out to some other company to clean. He told me they would be ready by Monday. When I hadn't picked them up a few days later (they aren't open in the mornings, so it's a bit difficult to pick up during the week), I got an angry and rude message telling me I needed to pick them up right away. The guy was equally rude when I picked them up. By the way, they claim to have a free delivery service. But guess what? They charge more for each item when you have them delivered (not so free after all). There's got to be a better green dry cleaner out there!
Excellent service. On-time pickup, clothes come packed folded nicely, and usually don't require any ironing!
Can schedule online or on the phone. Would highly recommend it to anyone not having the time to wash or the facilities in their units to wash/dry!
You know, sometimes I wish I had a wife. You know: the old-fashioned, probably-never-existed kind, who would hand me my coffee in the morning, vacuum the house all day, and greet me with a highball in the evening. I'd blithely go off to work, knowing my home was humming along like a well-oiled machine.
Alas, I have no wife, and my tastes run more toward husbands anyway. But SF Wash makes me feel like I have a wife, at least insofar as they whisk up to my door at 6:30 in the am, relieve me of my stinky socks, and show up again the next day, gracefully plopping beautifully-folded laundry, wrapped in cheerful blue paper, at my door. On the fourth floor.
Do they hand me a pipe? No. Do they massage my aching shoulders? Not so far. But boy, am I happy not to have to hang out at the wash n' fold for hours on end. I'm not sure if I can afford to do this with any regularity, but when life gets crazy, there is one chore that I know I won't have to do.
I LOVE THIS SERVICE!!!
These guys are always friendly, timely, and extremely responsive. If you hate doing laundry like me, and don't mind paying for wash and fold, then there's absolutely no reason not to use these guys!
To be all eBay about it: "A+++ WOULD RECOMMEND"
I love, love, love Blue Water Laundry. My relationship with them has just begun, and I have to admit it was a little rocky at first. But, like many relationships, it was well worth the initial work.
When I first submitted my order for laundry, I somehow missed the final wee, tiny, itty bitty "submit" off the bottom of the page. Then next morning at 6 am, PICK UP TIME, I was up, dressed and waiting on the steps, laundry bundled and ready to go. And waiting, and waiting. I began to have a nasty suspicion. Finally, being smart, but a little slow, I checked my online profile at https://www.bluewaterl... - sure enough, no order!
The next time, a Wednesday, late afternoon, I put in another order, this time vowing to commit and submit to the clean, alas, I was too late for a Thursday pick up with Friday delivery. I knew the clothes were all dirty, but I might need them over the weekend anyway. So, I opted for Monday pick up with Tuesday delivery instead.
Monday finds me ready and waiting, once again. Alas! Some foul error has come to pass and there is no nice person at the door come the appointed time. This could have been enough to sour me on the whole service. However, one call set things straight. I spoke to Art, who was apologetic, never defensive and incredibly helpful. He promised to come by for my laundry within 45 minutes. About 20 minutes later, there he was, on my doorstep ready and willing to take the wash.
Come Tuesday morning and Art, all helpful, is at the door with my clean clothes all wrapped in blue paper and nicely labeled.
The only thing that could make this service better is if they would come over and put the clothes away for me.
The details, you ask? A little over $30 for a big bag of laundry (bag provided). That's two weeks of laundry for me. They separate the colors and allow you to choose your (eco-friendly) detergent, bleach and softener.
They also do dry cleaning. I'll keep you posted.
Art and his crew are speedy, professional, and they've never shrunk a pair of my pants!
Seriously, we've been using this service for at least 5 months (maybe even longer), and it's hands-down our favorite luxury.
sfwash is even eco-conscious and will let you select detergents that are friendlier for our environment.
We've really enjoyed the convenience, friendliness, and professional service they deliver.
It has been proven by decades of government sponsored scientific research that your clothing smells sweeter and fits better when it's washed, fluffed and folded by someone else.
I'm so happy I found this place! At $31 per huge bag of clothes, done to my specifications, this is a luxury I can afford on a regular basis. Even though I have a rarely-used laundromat right across the street, this is one chore I would rather leave to someone else. I love Blue Water Laundry!
We just moved and had to cancel our SF Wash after about a year of good reliable service. They were always responsive, and quick to adapt to our changing needs. We were on the bi-weekly laundry plan and would frequently get confused as to whether or not it was our week to put the laundry out. They were always accommodating and would pick up the next day if we missed. They never messed up any of our clothes and the price was really a bit cheaper than going to the laundry mat - if you put any value on your time that is. I highly recommend their service. Well worth every penny!
This is a great service. You sign up online... YAHHH... Then put the laundry out for pickup (in your apartment hallway) before going to bed and it's gone when you get up. and the next day it's back at your door when you return home. Laundered shirts, Dry Cleaning, and wash and fold... You pick the pick up day, you pick the detergent, you and you set the instructions for your clothing. How much better could it be. Well if they have a service to put it away for me that might be better, but for now it's pretty cool. Thanks Art!!!
Decent, just a trifle pricey. For me, it's not the Wash that's awesome. I'm fine with Washing everything myself. No problem. It's the darned Folding that gets me down.
My only real problem I've had was when I handed them my laundry and there was a rather nice sweater that had snuck in there somewhere, and they shrunk it. If I'd been doing it myself, I would have noticed and taken it out. Meh. Use caution.
They also called me once and said that they wouldn't be able to make their promised delivery time, and asked if it was okay to change it (NO, I have a train to catch in the morning thank you), and grumpily settled on catching a late train (since I needed my clothes)... only to have the guy show up at the normally scheduled time after all. O....kay, whatever.
With work, visitors, and such, I ended up with a huge mountain of laundry. Time was of the essence, so I caved and called SFWash. Wait, there's a 5% discount if I hit 40 pounds? No way that'll happen... sure, I don't have a scale in the apartment, but if I can lug the laundry bags down the stairs, surely they most only total... 30lbs together, right?
Nope. I got 60lbs of laundry back, and at $1.10/lb, that's a lot of dough... SF Wash may be great for the every-so-often-do-my-wash-please-please-pretty-ple ase moment, but I can't afford for it to be an every-other-week thing! I will say, though, that everything came back fresh smelling (using 7th Generation detergent) and folded in pretty blue paper.
I just moved to the suburbs and it pains me that SF Wash does not have a location in Alameda. I guess I'll have to do my own laundry ... but it sure won't be folded as nice.
This is a super laundry service. Competitively priced, responsive to questions and needs ... and 24 hour turnaround for all wash & fold, laundry, and dry clean!
What an indulgence - it made my life so much easier!
**Update*** They've since gotten much better about pick up and drop off reliability. And they now offer green dry cleaning services.
Blue Water Laundry will pick up your dirty clothes, and then drop them off to you at your home, work... where ever! You have NO idea how much time this saves! Unfortunately the service isn'tt totally reliable, but if you're willing to play phone tag and maybe not get your laundry back by when you had originally requested, you're good. They are environmentally friendly and also employ Tenderloin residents, here's their article in Daily Candy: http://www.dailycandy....
Blue Water Laundry has become my latest guilty pleasure. I hate doing laundry. Just thinking about it ruins my day! However, this service not only picks up the laundry from your door, but also delivers it back to you the following day! Talk about service.
The owner, Jeff, is an absolutely awesome wonderful person to talk to (even when I just wake up!). Blue Water has never failed me on reliability. I think they've worked out all their kinks and are now even more superb!
Their environmentally friendly stance along with Tenderloin resident employees abates any guilt I may feel from never having to do my laundry again!
What would I do without Art and his flock of helpful laundry people?
With three kids and a gajillion loads of laundry a week, this is the best spent money EVER to keep mommy sane. Being on their weekly service route makes it even more magical...it's like little laundry fairies steal my nasty bags and return the next day with little presents of tidy laundry. Bless those fairies.
Don't think twice...try them.
How can you NOT like a wash service that comes to your front door, picks up all your laundry, washes it, folds it, wraps it up in neat little packages and delivers right back to your front door? Genius!!
DELIVERY: I tried SF Wash in order to compare their service with SF Green Clean. (SF Wash offers green dry cleaning as well).. Hands down, SF Wash was MUCH more organized. I literally signed up Sunday night at 8pm and they were at my door 12 hours later to pick up my laundry and dry cleaning. My items were returned to me 48 hours later, within the 1 hour time frame we scheduled.. BRAVO!! (SF Green clean blew the first pickup, blew the second pickup and then showed up after I'd already given up.)
ISSUE: Both times I've used the SF Wash laundry service, my clothes have been returned damp. I did ask for drip dry... but one would assume they would return dry. I called and the proprieter was very apologetic and the clothes were less damp the next time.
Still, I will use this service. Its SO awesome to have your laundry done for you and to have your dry cleaning picked up and dropped off.
Update: Art emailed me and said he did call me. I didn't get that message, but I trust him more than I trust ATT Wireless, so don't let that part of my review factor into your decision-making.

Okay, I've only dropped off, but so far one star and I only dropped off half my load of stuff. "Green" is posted, but no evidence of what that means, or how their dry cleaning is green. Then I lost a little hope when the woman who took my clothes rubbed my Armani suit down with the filthy rubber glove on that she had just been wearing to take out the garbage. So -- we'll see at pickup I guess, but I'm a little nervous.
SF Wash is a lifesaver when the mountain of laundry is reaching Everestian proportions. I took one star away because they melted a pair of "quick wik" leggings that I'd been laundering with no special care (including several times with them) for years. They weren't willing to replace them because the instructions said to dry flat. Even though "the customer is always right", I couldn't really argue with that. It did make me wonder, though, exactly how hot their driers are.
They pick it up, they drop it off! They fold it and wrap it up like a present in bright blue paper! I would give 10 stars if I could. Love, love, love blue water.
very nice. recently just gotten sick from the flu, and had tons of laundry to do. I HATE doing laundry, everything about it, so I had to figure something out. This service actually comes out to your house, picks up your laundry, and brings it back to you the next day! Its a godsend! not as expensive as I thought, but would pay any price for anyone to wash my clothes. I put my clothes out in garbage bags and they returned it in reusable nylon bags (nice), they wrapped everything in blue paper and separated accordingly for easy organizing (very nice), and when i paid the deliverer (dont know his name, but very nice), they accepted atm! sweet! sfwash rocks my socks.
SF Wash saves me and everyone around me from the misery of folding laundry. That alone is worth 5 stars in my opinion, but it couldn't be an easier setup. I met the driver for the first delivery and gave him a key to drop off the clean clothes in my hallway. 24 hours later, I had a bag of cleaned and nicely folded laundry sitting in a courtesy draw string bag outside my door. SUCCESS!
What would I do without this service ??? I place my order at 11pm Monday , they PICK UP at the time requested (Tuesday 7:30 -8) 30 min window !!! and the next day (NEXT DAY !) both my dry cleaning and wash and returned at the same time perfectly washed (i get to choose the detergent & softener from their list!) and its very well priced . AMAZING.
I'm in love! Not only do they pick up and deliver for free (with a $25 minimum) but you get to choose the detergent, bleach (or no bleach), and softener you want from their extensive list and then when they drop it off (you can give them a key to your front gate) everything is separated into shirts, linens, underwear, etc. and it's all wrapped it pretty blue paper! It's like Christmas every time they visit me! You can call and have an order picked up the next day or you can have them come regularly every week, 10 days, or 2 weeks. I may never touch a washing machine again.
SFWash - what can I say? They have made my life so much easier. I used to save up loads of laundry to do and now I send it off every two weeks and it gets done perfectly. The cost is about the same when you add it up but I think they do a better job than I do myself. Absolutely love this service, company, and people. Try it, you'll like it...
good palce, good price, godo servide
i really am so happy to have found these guys. they pick up my laundry - always on time - and drop it off the next day all clean and folded and sorted into neat little packages. they even gave me the bags used to transport it back and forth. just today i gave them my key to get on their weekly route...even less of a hassle for me and i get a discount for it! you can book right online, but if you do decide to call they are very friendly and accommodating. and the delivery woman is super sweet. they also use your choice of products, including environmentally friendly ones and they save your preferences. the price is great considering the time and energy saved!
