What's better than one fluffy, happy Westie ???

Lots of fluffy, happy Westies.

Which is why we head to the SF Bay Westie Club's 'Spring Fling' almost every year. This year was no different...as soon as we drive into the park, our dog starts sniffing the air, and almost going crazy in her little seatbelt. It's like she KNOWS what's in store.

We park and are practically dragged over to the Circle Area where there are tons of Westies and owners cavorting all around. Lots of barking, yipping, and ours who is literally SCREAMING trying to get into the Lure area where she chases a little fuzzy 'squirrel' on a zippy automated little wire line.

Unfortunately (fortunately?) for her this year, we arrived right when the SF Bay club was hosting their annual meeting so there was no Lure activity. Because she's uncontrollable until she gets into the pen, we put her in and she runs around til she practically passes out, trying to find the 'squirrel' and wondering why it's not moving.

Fun all around though, the photos are priceless. And seeing a gaggle of Westies in a little fenced enclosure chasing a yo-yo was even more priceless. Especially when you wonder 'which one is mine??'. I wouldn't be surprised if at least one or two Westies have gone home with the wrong owners in the many years this event has been hosted.

Got a Westie? Then bookmark that Web Address above, because they have this every Spring. And they have their Black and White Ball in November for both Scotties and Westies. Super cute. We try to attend both, but sometimes just make it to one event per year.

If you have extra $$ burning a hole in your pocket, you can also donate to the club's Rescue organization, which is fabulous for caring for unwanted Westies (I know...is there such a thing??).

Hurrah for Westies.
