Rigo and Carlos kicked ass.  I had my doubts starting out but these guys really handled business.  I highly recommend this company.  Thanks Yelp for the recommendation.

On time, clean, professional, and didn't break or scratch a single thing.  They even disassembled by bed and reassembled at the next house.   Wow.  Give them a call.

They did a great job of wrapping and transporting all of our large items.  Nothing was damaged.

Two minor negative points:  A large handprint (which will not come out) was left on a sofa cushion, and they seemed to move slow at times (perhaps on purpose to squeeze in some extra time).  Though, that can be me just being paranoid.

However, despite the former point, they ended up rounding the time down, and i paid what i felt was a fair price.

I would definitely use them again-- highly recommended.

We had a great experience with SF Bay Area Movers during our move from Fremont to Alameda.  I did some research beforehand and felt that SFBAM had the best all-around price for comparable services and very good reviews on Yelp.

What you get is 2 movers for $80/hour.  The rate includes:
    - as many wardrobe boxes as you need (so you don't need to spend time folding up your hanging clothes)
    - packaging materials (e.g. tape, bubble wrap, plastic wrap, moving pads/blankets)
    - even regular boxes (I was told that used boxes would be free, but when the guys showed up they actually had with them new boxes, which we used for no extra charge).  (In full disclosure, we had already purchased a set of 25 boxes from Costco and had boxed all of our small items in the weeks leading up to our move, so if you're requesting 25 boxes for your own move, I'm not sure if SFBAM would give you 25 boxes for free...).
    - if your move is more than 25 miles between each location, then they charge you double time during the drive.  This seems to be standard practice in the industry, and I thought that it was fair.

    Movers:
    - the 2 fellows that came were excellent, very efficient and didn't take any breaks during the entire 5 hour move (from ~10am - 3pm).  They weren't overly friendly, but were courteous, which was exactly the way I wanted the experience to be.
    - most importantly, they were really professional about packaging our larger items securely, like our 42" LCD TV, our bedframe (which they completely dismantled and packaged), sofa, etc.  Everything was handled gingerly and with care; at one point we actually asked the guys NOT to pad/wrap a coffee table since we were thinking about throwing it away after settling in to our new place.  At the end of the move, nothing broke, we didn't find any scratches/dings, and despite moving some heavy objects all the way to the third floor of our new home, our walls were left unscratched.

Again, overall, a wonderful experience in an industry where horror stories are all-too-common.

I'm definitely bookmarking SFBAM for future reference.

    ***

    My recommendation if you're moving:
     - pre-pack all of your stuff before the move so that you can cut down on the moving time.  Just leave your big items for the day-of.
     - buy boxes at Costco; they're really cheap.  A set of 25 boxes will handle a normal 2BR apartment
     - IMO, for a 2BR apartment, if you can stick with using 2 movers, that's probably best, otherwise additional movers may end up slacking for a variety of reasons (not necessarily their fault)
     - If you have expensive items, moving into a new house and are afraid of your walls getting banged up, etc., then it's important to find movers that have insurance.

I cannot tell you how great these guys were to move my 4br house that was stuffed to the gills.  They worked nonstop for eight hours and were extremely courteous and professional the whole way through.

The positive reviews are accurate - these guys did a great job and for a very reasonable price.   I would highly recommend...

Can you find movers on Yelp?  Well yes, you can....and 5 star ones at that!

I called SF Bay Area Movers after I read their reviews on yelp, and I can't say enough good things about this company.  Here is why they get 5 stars from me:
***Arranging the move was easy.  The date I needed about 3 weeks away was open and the nice woman on the phone answered all of my questions including how to get used boxes
***Speaking of used boxes, I was able to get a bunch dropped off a couple weeks prior to the move date.  And they were not so much used boxes as a lot of brand new boxes, plus some used.  Either way, they were free, all in excellent condition and easy to get
***The day of the move, my stuff was packed carefully (like breakables wrapped in a moving blanket, taped and then secured).  Nothing was broken or scratched
***The guys hustled.  They got my place packed up quickly, disassembled things like the dining room table to carefully pack/protect, and then reassembled when we got to my new home.
***The price is great.  2 movers plus the truck plus all of the boxes at $80/hr.  They also hauled away a desk that I didn't want anymore and would have had to pay a lot to get hauled off for an additional $50.  Can't beat that!  And they took back all the boxes and packing trash into the truck for free.
***They do more than just move.  I bought a 5 piece desk set from Costco and I kid you not, it came in 9 huge boxes with ten million screws, dowels, glue etc.  They guys hauled it upstairs for me, and then offered to put it together.  And they did a gorgeous job.  Once they were done building all the pieces, they moved it around and then hauled away all of the cardboard, styrofoam, paper and plastic!

While I hope I never move again because "movin' aint fun", if I do, I'll be calling SF Bay Area Movers.

My family moved in June, then again in September.  In June we moved 2/3 of our stuff to a storage unit and the rest to an apartment temporarily (sold one home, moved out, moved into an apartment temporarily) until home construction was complete.  For our move in June we hired Go Pro Movers (3 guys).  Had a pretty good experience, but when it was time to move again in September they were unavailable.

I called SF Bay Area Movers because of the yelp reviews.

The scheduling part was very easy.  Left initial message with Claudia, and got a return call within the hour.  We discussed the scope of my project, and I described how much work I thought was involved.  She wanted to have someone come out and quote, but agreed to do the job based on my description (I knew how many boxes, how much furniture, etc.).  I ask for 6 guys on an hourly rate.  Claudia was awesome the entire time.  She answered ALL my questions, helped me understand their procedures, and was overall excellent.

On moving day, my husband had a team of 3 guys at the apartment to pack everything and bring to our new home.  Meanwhile, I was at the new home with the other team of 3 guys unpacking 2 PODS (storage units).

We also had the guys help us with taking everything out of boxes.

Overall, I would say this is a pretty good company.  Comparing the two companies that we used, with similar services, I would say that the guys from Go Pro Movers were more professional.  A couple of the SF Bay Area Movers guys were going through our stuff in a way that I felt was inappropriate.  For instance, one of the guys found some international money in a box he was helping me unpack.  When he picked up the money he walked around with it showing it to the other guys, and speaking with them about it in Spanish.  I also walked in on two of the guys holding my stuff and posing taking pictures of each other.

Between the crew that my husband had, and the crew that I had, we both agreed that we each had 1 guy who really kicked butt, and 1 guy who was a little less motivated, and 1 guy who was totally useless.

I felt that the Go Pro moving team of 3 guys hustled the entire time and worked hard to get everything done as quickly as possible.  With this crew, there were lots of times where it was just me and Rigo, and I would have to ask where everybody went.

If I have to move again, I would call Go Pro Movers; these guys as a team were just OK.

BTW--nothing was broken, and I've only noticed some minor issues with furniture and walls.  I would say about what I expect after a move.

    2 stars = "experienced better"
    3 stars = "A-OK"

2 stars because I've experienced better.

Based on the good reviews, my wife decided to view the website and give this company a call to ask for an estimate for our move. She called three times and all three times left messages on Claudia's voice mail, with no response what so ever. Based on the previous reviews my wife gave the company the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe they're closed (even though their website states they are open 7 days a week) or maybe they're really busy.

Based on the fact that they couldn't even respond to any of the three voice mail messages, I would not recommend this company.

PS: this company may want to update the phone numbers listed on the website because the 866 number doesn't work and it's apparent that Claudia doesn't know how to return a call.

Excellent service at a very reasonable price.

They were there on time, were very careful about wrapping everything, and they very carefully maneuvered heavy furniture and treasured antiques down a very difficult stairway without even the slightest scratch.  And all this within the minimun time charge.

    Could not ask for better.

    One word: AWESOME!!!

From the minute I called and setup the move with Claudia, I could tell this was going to be a smooth move indeed.  Not to mention that the previous yelp reviews helped in my decision to choose SF Bay Area Movers aka Rigo's Trucking...

Rigo and his crew were very thorough and efficient from beginning to end... with no damages whatsoever, they were that GOOD!! My family had so much stuff that Rigo said it was the first time he'd ever moved 2 homes in 1 day.. LOL!!  Overall my family was very pleased with Rigo and his crew and I most definitely recommend them for your moving needs.. Trust me you will not be disappointed...

I was pleased in every way with the service this company provided.

They gave me a firm quote that was very reasonable. Moved all the furniture in our 4000 sq ft home to our new home 35 miles away.

The front office customer service by Marisella was top notch. She is a cheerful and willing problem solver and should receive much credit for our choice to use this company. She answered every question promptly, calling me back when needed.

They were the losest quote for the job yet I know the highest priced company could not have done a better job. Not one item was damaged, including marble tops to very old furniture. They were careful and respectful.

My father owns a HUGE safe, which tightly fitted into a closet 30 years ago. It weighs over 1,000 lbs. We failed to point it out at the time of the estimate. Rigo, said he would find a way to get it out and move it. It was VERY challenging and included risk to flooring, both wood and tile. They succeeded in spite of challenges, didn't mar flooring or woodwork, and asked a very small price for the hour it required to move.

I HIGHLY recommend these guys. They have a can-do attitude, they are polite and willing, and the price was fair.

I cannot say enough but you get the point, so I'll stop here.

Oh Yelp, how I love thee, let me count the ways.  You led me to good food, you helped me find my hair dresser... then you introduced me to my moving company.

I was fearful.  I'm a out-of-the-closet control freak.  These are my shoes.  There are many like them, but these are mine.  If it's labeled "Fragile" you damn well better treat it like it's your mama's.

I was impressed from start to finish.  Rigo and his #2 arrived 10 minutes early.  They get EXTRA bonus points for this, as every pizza, chinese, and fed-ex delivery guy has gotten lost in our apartment complex.  Not my movers; they showed up at 9:50.

They were clean, efficient, and polite.  They asked questions when furniture looked wobbly (my cheap Target stuff), wrapped each large item in a blanket or saran wrap as was appropriate, and loaded it all in the truck.  My boyfriend slipped them a little cash "por Cervesas" and their pace stayed nice and quick as they loaded each heap of boxes.

We tootled across town to the new location and they showed up ready to rock.  Each box was put in the room to which I had labeled it (In both Spanish and English because I'm a nerd).  Book cases and heavy furniture were put on the walls where I wanted them.

Not a single item broken, not a single scratch, not a single wine glass shattered.

I happily handed over my Visa; this was the best money I spent in a LONG time.  I would recommend them to anyone and would use them again in a heartbeat.

As others have said the scheduling, communication and estimate process is very smooth, so I won't add anything on that.  I will say that their rates are very competitive and came in considerably less than a large corporate competitor I've had experience with.

Everything went well, my only critical points would be that I believe Rigo underestimated the amount of stuff we had and it was a bit much for 2 guys to handle.  Rigo did show up for a while to help load, but then went off I assume to another move.  However a couple of our items did sustain some slight damage/marks and the move went pretty late (6pm or so).  Both I'd say due to the fact that 2 guys just weren't enough, and as it got later the guys started to rush the job a bit and I think were just plain exhausted.  On our previous move we had 3 guys from cor-o-van and at the time we had less stuff  than now.

The two guys really busted their asses and I certainly got my money's worth as I negotiated a flat rate with Rigo before hand.  My only advice would be to be realistic about the amount of stuff you have and maybe ask for a 3rd mover if need be.  Our 3 bedroom house with major appliances really should have had 3 people.

I think you'll definitely get more personal service and a better value with these guys than with a big corporate company.  I would use them again, but this time I'll pay a little more and get that 3rd person!

I spoke to Claudia right before Christmas and she happily set up our move right after Christmas.  She explained everything.

2 movers to move, blankets provided for, tape, etc.  Anything extra we would be notified.

On the day of the move, we received a courtesy call 20 minutes before our appointment time.

On time, Rigo and his associate arrived and introduced themselves.  They were very professional, and a few hours later our move successful.

I would definitely recommend them, and use them again for our next move.  All of our furniture was handled with care.  My wife and I can't say more.  Thanks again Rigo.

I did quite a bit of research on moving companies before finally deciding to go with SF Bay Area Movers.  I cannot begin to express how impressed I am with the high level of service, proficiency, and professionalism that they display all around.  Our scheduled move date was a few days before Christmas - but this was no problem for them.

First, both Claudia and Rigo came to my home to assess our belongings and to provide me with a quote; they usually give hourly quotes, but I requested a flat rate so that I could compare it with the other quotes I obtained.  They came in the lowest, but because of how awesome they were to work with, we tipped them the difference between one of the higher quotes we received.  To us, it isn't about getting the cheapest - it's about the quality of work provided.  It's obvious that Rigo and his company like what they do; it shows.

Rigo came personally a few days before moving to drop off boxes we would need.  They included used boxes as well as wardrobe boxes in our rate.  This was a plus, as other companies I talked with would not provide boxes.  He and his crew were on time on moving day, worked hard and fast, and put everything exactly where it was supposed to go.  We were so impressed with everything they did.

I am so glad we decided to go with this company and will definitely use them again the next time we have to move.  I will also be highly recommending them to any of our bay area friends and family.

    These guys are awesome.

My first time using professional movers, and I picked this company because of it's good reviews.  They came and went to work right away.  I had a 3 man crew.  Rigo wrapped everything in blankets and shrink wrap, while the other two loaded the stuff into the truck.  Their pace was incredible.

It took 5 hours for my 2 bedroom apartment, which was about what I expected.  But after watching how fast these guys were working, I can't imagine anyone matching that time.  These guys worked feverishly the entire 5 hours, with no breaks.  Nothing damaged, and no marks on the walls.

I'm never moving myself again.  Next time I move, I'm calling Rigo... without a doubt.  I was so pleased I tipped them $70 for a total of $570.  Worth every penny.

The whole process was very smooth and stress-free. Claudia scheduled the move for us and gave the quote and also an estimate of how much time the move would take. Their rates are very reasonable.

On the day of the move, they arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently. They wrapped up the futon frame/mattress and electronics, bed frames and mattresses in blankets, taping everything securely.

They are very professional and would definitely use them again for our next move.

I've never used a moving company before, and I was intimidated with the idea of people touching my stuff, but, when I sprained my ankle a week before my big move, I needed to call someone good.  So I called up SF Bay Area Movers.  I called and got the answering machine.  But, I called back bright and early the next day, and got their wonderful receptionist.  She was lovely, and very understanding of my sprained ankle.  She asked what heavy objects I've got, and I told her, one 55 gallon fishtank, one table, one small refrigerator, and the other accumulated stuff, that I hadn't been able to stuff into boxes yet.

They came by right on time, Rigo and Dominc, giving me a call just beforehand.  They came in, helped me pack the debris that had been left over from me getting the stuff out from before.  I worked on getting the fish out of the fishtank, and they moved it carefully after I'd taken the majority of the water out.  They got everything loaded into the boxes, and were VERY quick, and very professional, asking questions about the, admittedly, bizzare commands I had.  (Leave the futon, don't take that, I don't know what to do with that...) They even suggested things that I hadn't thought of, (like my refrigerator could just be shrinkwrapped, and then put on the truck, and didn't need to be 100% cleaned out!)Then, after a quick lunch and an hour drive, they helped me put everything in my tiny little new bedroom.  They stacked it all up carefully, only dropping one thing that was a little delicate.

All in all, would I use these guys again?  Of course!!  They were incredibly quick, professional, but friendly enough to really put me at ease.  I really liked dealing with them!

We used this firm for a recent move from San Leandro to Roseville (about 120 miles). Rigo and his assistant Darwin were our movers and you won't find a couple of  harder working and conscientious movers. We had lots of heavy stuff to be carried down stairs from a second floor condo and it all arrived safely in Roseville the same afternoon with zero damage. It was a flat rate move for a very reasonable fee which was actually much less than the competitors we got bids from. We're totally satisfied with the service we got from this company and would recommend them to anyone without reservation.

Our first time moving in 20 years and we were a little concerned with finding a company that wouldn't rip us off and who would offer fair rates. After comparing different companies in the area and reading yelp reviews we chose SF Bay Movers.

The guys arrived 15 minutes early and ready to work.  Two of them were able to get all of our heavy furniture down a flight of outdoor stairs from our apartment building to our new house.  They worked very hard and were super careful with our stuff, and moved everything we asked them to take with ease.  They were done within 3 hours and charged us less than $300.  They were very polite, hard-working, and made sure they placed everything in the correct rooms while unloading. Great company, worth every penny.

I was a little bit cautious about the 5-star rating for this mover because I was not sure the review was written by their personal friends or not. However, I will have to say that I made such a good decision to give these guys a try! My previous move from Fremont to San Ramon using Hercules Van Line was a nightmare! They asked me to sign waiver before starting the job, refused to unload the car if I don't pay them in full by cash at destination. And most importantly, damage a lot of my furniture and caused deep scratches on the hardwood floor of my new house which eventually cost me $1900 to fix. The total cost was $1600 and it was a rip off!

However, Rigo and his cousins are no bullshitters! They don't let you sign any waiver before starting the job. They don't bother me to initial the time table like Hercules Van Line did. They don't charge me any extra for the appliances and piano. I gave them a five star because these guys are just GOOD!!!

    1. when I called their office on Thursday, Claudia was very friendly and schedule the move for that Sunday at 9am
    2. On Sunday, we ran late and didn't arrive our house until 9:30am. Because of the bad cell phone reception in my neighborhood, I missed Claudia's call telling me the crew was there already. It was 9:03am she called! They are just that ON TIME! Even though we didn't pick up her call, the crew didn't leave and waited for us. First big thumb!

    2. after we arrived, the crew started working with no nonsense. 2 hours later, all the big heavy stuff such as piano, frig, projection tv, entertainment center, computer desk, washer/dryer are all well wrapped and in the truck. my two cal-king mattress and box spring were perfectly wrapped and WOW! They are that good!

    3. During the entire move, they didn't take any break. They worked 9 hours straight to move all my stuff from San Ramon to Santa Clara and also set the furniture up for me. No damage on my house hold stuff and houses! Believe it or not!

    4. Claudia waived the double driving time for me. At the end of the move, I still paid them 11 hours ( 8 hours of moving, 1.5hours x2 of driving) of labor at $80/hour rate because they simply deserved it.
Rigo, another helper and his son were soaking sweaty after they completed the job. There is no need to penny pinch these people when they did such a great job helping us move. I also tip Rigo $60, the helper $40 since he switched the job with Rigo's cousin at noon and Rigo's son $20. So the total move cost me $1000. Totally worth it.

Before they took off, I told Rigo that they will definitely get my business again next time. He gave me a receipt and the total balance shows NO extra hidden fees what so ever.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with their service. If they can't be 5-star, no one can!

Great experience with our move from the East Bay to SF. Claudia was super on the phone and with returning calls. The quote was simple: $100/hr. for 3 guys and a truck.. no gimmicks, no extra charges.
The movers came right on time and 6 hours later had everything moved and set up.
They carefully handled all the furniture and appliances and there were no dings on walls at the old place or the new one.
WIll use their professional services again!

The movers showed up right on time, I even got a call 10 minutes before their arrival letting me know that they would be there as scheduled. They worked fast, and none of my furniture or belongings were damaged! They were very good about letting me know about start and stop times for billing purposes and even made me inspect the van after they were done to make sure they did not leave anything behind.
I would have given them 5 stars, however I was not informed about the additional hour they charge for driving (I guess it's a law). Other than that one point, I was very happy with this company.

TOP NOTCH!  SF Bay Area Movers did an outstanding job.  As others have yelped, they call 15 min. prior to arrival for both the estimate and the actual move.  They were on time, courteous, careful to keep my carpet clean and very conscientious about not hitting walls or ceilings.

I would definitely recommend Rigo and his team.  They are honest and hardworking people........hopefully I won't be moving again soon.

I used SF Bay Area Movers back in December and they advised me the job would take 8 hrs and it took 5! They were VERY professional and flexible to work with me on some items.  I am moving again for the final time (last location was temporary) and they are doing my move again this Saturday! Rigo was point person on this and he and the crew did a fantastic job! Definite 5 star!!

I spoke with Claudia on the phone and via e-mail, and she was very helpful in answering all my questions and communicating with me before the move.  On the day of the move, Rigo and his associate were both very professional and efficient.  They were careful with all of my belongings and worked quickly.  It was nice not to have to worry about the move at all; they made it very stress-free!  I would highly recommend them to others and would happily hire them again in the future.

we just moved from a one level condo on the second floor to a 3 story townhome and this company was AMAZING!
Claudia communicated with us from the very first day we called to get a quote, right up to the SUNDAY before we moved. She confirmed every last detail. She replied to every email INSTANTLY.
When we first called to get a quote, her and Riggo came out to look at our place and gave us a FLAT RATE fee including everything (packing material, mileage costs). No hidden fees. Flat Fee was regardless of how much time it took to move.
Riggo and Julio came exactly on time (even 10 minutes earlier). They came in matching attire and a company labels truck. They worked quickly, efficiently and VERY carefully (taking care to read my labels on the boxes and wrapping all my furniture for safe transport). They took apart our bed and reassembled it in the new place.
Very good communication between the movers. They put every box and every bag in whichever room it was supposed to go into. They even moved my couch a few times back and forth until I decided where  it looked best!
Overall it was a WONDERFUL experiences in what could be a very difficult time in ones' life. Very professional
I will definitely use them again for any future moving needs. Will not even consider another company!

We could not have been happier with our move.  Rigo and his associate were great, very professional.  They were quick and careful, taped all of our boxes and wrapped all furniture in blankets to protect it.  Great price and so efficient - even in 90 degree weather!  We will be using them again for our next move.

had them back to help me move all the stuff back into my house.  they even helped me windex all the glass and put the little pads on my furniture.   one good thing to note - the three times that i have scheduled appointments with them - they always showed up exactly on time!  and i saw the other yelpers note that they didn't take a break.   this last move ended up being a 6 hr move.
