I've been meaning to write a review for Sexy Silhouettes because of how awesome Sara, the owner and instructor, is and because I had a fabulous time learning how to pole dance.
So, I was seeing this guy, and I thought why not take a pole dancing class and surprise him with a private show? With that in mind, I bought a Groupon, valid for 4 sessions at Sexy Silhouettes; unfortunately, the private show did not happen- dang, he missed out!
Original intentions aside, I am so happy I decided to buy the Groupon. Even though I only took four classes with Sara I learned about 10-15 different spins; not only did I learn them but I learned how to do them properly. Sara gives detailed step by step instructions that even a Klutzy McKlutz, like me, could follow.
Sara is super encouraging and makes learning how to pole dance fun. Also, Sara is a certified Pole Dance Instructor; that means she knows what she's doing; so you don't have to worry about breaking your neck.
Sara also offers other classes- I would check her website for a full list. http://www.sexysilhoue.../. I was actually gifted a strip dancing certificate, so I will be back for sure. Can't wait to see you again, Sara!
Tips: wear comfy clothes- you are going to get a work out. Bring heels, dancing is way more fun with heels on. Don't forget to bring lots of water and a towel- you'll need them. Get on her mailing list- she always has offers to take advantage of.
Lastly, believe in yourself and have fun! -

FUN! Very unique and cool experience. Not the greatest form of exercise but very fun and nice instructor. The class size is kept small and very private, I enjoyed it but felt it was a bit over priced. A fun and unique thing to do at least once : )

Amazing instructor (Sara) and very fun environment. The class moves quick, but it's easy to keep up and if you get lost, they work one on one with you.
This was by far a very different workout from anything else I've experienced and a whole new set of muscles hurt the next day that I didn't know I even had. Can't wait to go back next week! -

Fun but not a real whole body work out. The pole dancing is the most basic fun class. Try the spin/tricks class after u develop some gripping muscles... those spins really need some good grippy hands. The booty class is a work out with some booty bounce instructions, which is really addictive to look in the mirror to do it at random once u learn it. Wear heels after you get the hang of it to look cute, but in the beginning it may just end up bruising yourself more.
p.s. yelp just asked if this is "good for kids"... um... no. -

I tried pole dancing for the first time ever here! I got a Groupon for $35/ 2 classes. I attended the level 1 class, which is a prerequisite for the choreography class. My instructor was none other than Sara, and she was a very thorough and friendly instructor. She led a long stretch and warmup, which I though was excessive until we actually started the pole work! Don't be fooled: pole dancing is not just sexy dancing; it's an intense all over workout! It works your core, your legs, your arms... I was barely walking and couldn't lift my arms the next day! She taught holding techniques, some basic spins, and we were already off the ground and twirling by 35 minutes! The techniques you learn in Level 1 and Level 2 workout classes are directly applied in the choreography class. Next time, I will take the choreo class because it is the more creative and more fun class! Don't expect to be very "sexy" in the level 1 or level 2 pole fitness classes: you'd probably be too concentrated on gripping the pole with all your strength to keep from sliding down!
I had a very good experience, but the only downside is the price. I got the Groupon, which is a steal, but on a normal basis, each class is $35!! I don't think I will continue after these two classes. Also, the lessons don't last the full hour; she starts a few minutes late and ends a few minutes early.
If you are going there for the first time, allow plenty of time to look for the unit! It's actually BEHIND the office buildings and incredibly hard to locate!!! -

I took four classes with Sara via a Groupon deal. Turns out pole dancing is more of a workout than you'd think. I ended up with sore arms and a few bruises but I also had a lot of fun.
Sara is a great teacher and is good at breaking moves down into small steps so even an uncoordinated person like me can follow along.
The atmosphere is very encouraging and fun so you don't feel self-conscious. In the classes I took there were ladies of all different ages, sizes and levels of fitness so don't let anything hold you back if you want to give it a try. -

This is a fun thing to do w/ your girlfriends. We did the level 1 class both before and after they switched things up. The 1st class was hard but fun. I left w/ a new respect for those girls that can climb a pole! But after going back and doing the NEW format....i was dissappointed. The warm up itself HURT...not my muscles but my bones. She has you stretching out on hardwood floors w/ no type of mat. OUCH! My toes, feet, and knees were bruised just from that. When we moved on to the poles I remembered why i was sore from the first class. The new format was so hard tho, even Sara herself was struggling. Needless to say it kinda took the fun out of it for me. I'm not gonna do the last classes on my Groupon. I'm still waiting for the bruising to go away =/

This place is fantastic! Sara is warm and welcoming and a hard worker. Went with a group of girlfriends with Groupons and we all loved it. I work out almost every day, but this was definitely a different workout because muscles hurt the next day that I didn't know I even had! My only wish is that the studio was bigger! The intimate setting is awesome, but it can be tricky to book a class.

I've been on Sara's mailing list for what seems like forever, and after Sexy Silhouettes had the Groupon offer, I couldn't resist finally trying her classes. I was hooked 10 minutes into class. The atmosphere is non-judgemental, all the girls in the class were new like me so it didn't feel awkward, and the music and routine were completely tasteful. I had an amazing time and can't wait for tomorrow for my next class. I'm hoping to move up one level after tomorrow. My husband is already saying he wants to buy me a pole so I can practice at home and perfect my routine :-)

Wow what fun me and the girls had! Sara was awesome, she really taught us how to feel sexy. This by far has been one of the most interesting fun class that I have taken and now I think I'm hooked. It really is a good workout. This is such a fun way to let loose and show off some moves. I can't wait till my next class with Sara.

My friend and I took the Intro to Pole class. We were nervous and shy, but Sara made us feel so comfortable. She is a great instructor, easy to learn from her. I like the fact that the class is maxed out at 5, it makes me less self conscious. It's 2 days after our first class and I'm sore. I'm already addicted! I can't wait to go back.

I absolutely LOVE Pole Dancing and Sexy Silhouettes by Sara! I am very thankful that I found Sara and that she put Sexy Silhouettes on Groupon where I could not only refuse such a great deal but try something that I have always been carouse about. Sara makes you feel very comfortable, at home and puts you at ease which diminishes any awkwardness that you might have coming into a class like this.
Not only do you feel sexy and a boost of self confidence, you get a full body workout making you stronger and leaner. You will defiantly feel sore in places that you never knew you had muscles.
Sara instructions are easy to understand and she teaches at your speed and level. She makes sure you have the right form and positioning so that you're routine is flawless and sexy!! As you advance she challenges your skills and makes the class fun and exciting. I have to warn you.... Pole dancing can be addictive, because I know I am addicted!! -

I purchased the $9 deal on Buy With Me for myself and my best friend Christine. It was raining like crazy on the evening we booked so we lucked out and got Sara all to ourselves. We were nervous at first but Sara was so sweet that we relaxed immediately. She's a great instructor and didn't tell us that we looked like drunk hippos trying to dance sexily around the pole. She was encouraging and patient with our attempts at twirling and pirouetting. It's true, you DO feel sexy and empowered after taking a class with her. Her small private studio is in the back of the Denny's mall. The ambiance is chill and the lights turned down low made us feel more comfortable as our imperfections and facial expressions were less noticeable. When Sara dances and instructs, she looks so sexy. When I (attempted to) copy her, I was akward and clumsy but she was cheering us on all the way. 3 days out and I'm still sore! It's a fun way to get my lazy-ass to work out and I have such fun doing it! It's mos def something that I can stick to. I've purchased the unlimited monthly package which is a huge savings. I can't wait to go back! Thanks Sara!

I've always wanted to try out pole dancing classes and after doing some research online I found Sexy Silhouettes by Sara. I came in for a class with a girlfriend last night and tried out their Level 1: Flirting Class and I'm so glad I finally gave it a try! Located behind the Denny's on Miramar Road, this class is a hidden gem. Sara is a wonderful and patient teacher who will definitely bring out the inner diva in you. Class starts out with stretching then moves onto step sequences and lastly pole routines. It may look easy, but it isn't! However, Sara makes sure everyone in class is learning the steps and doesn't mind going over the steps individually if needed. Very professional and clean classroom, windows are covered and door is securely locked during class. She offers lap dancing classes, pole tricks classes and there is even a membership option for those who are interested. Give pole dancing classes a try... you know you want to ; )
