13 reviews for Seven's Mediterranean Turkish Grill
One of the Business' Favorite Reviews What's This?
An upscale Mediterranean restaurant where a blind date took me here. Reservations are highly recommended as we arrived late because I left work 1/2 hour later than expected. Thus with our late arrival we lost our table despite of having reservations and my blind date was throughly livid. Eventually the blind date went sour... but that's another story.
The entrées are prepared very well and fresh. This restaurant was extremely pricey for dinner for two as I peeked at the bill which my date paid was I believe it to be almost $200.00. We also had 2 full bottles of Seabiscuit Ranch Chardonnay 2003 of the legendary champion racehorse at the bar while waiting nearly 1/2 hour for a table. http://www.seabiscuitr...
The service is extremely attentive and the decor is very modern and clean. The bar tender is knowledgeable and informative.
I love the hummus here, among the best I've had. They always bring warm bread out and it adds fabulously to the hummus.
My favorite dish here is the Yogurtlu Adana. The Yogurtlu Beyti is also very very good.
Service is always very good, and I've never had to wait to be seated.
I'm definitely a fan.
Let me start off by saying, my last meal on earth will be Turkish food. There are two places in Manhattan where I come to satisfy my cravings for Turkish food and this is one of them. I come here for lunch, dinner and anytime in between, they always seem to be open. I park on the street, load the muni-meter with quarters, because I will be eating for a few hours. I am a French and Italian wine snob, but the Turkish red called selection is just perfect with the grilled meats. I spent about 6 months in Turkey a few years ago and I became addicted to Turkish food. I don't care what you order from the menu, it will be good. Grilled whole dorado, to die for. The classic chicken adana, it will be part of my last meal.
The decoy of this place is a little stale and out dated, but that suits me just fine, it keeps the trendy people away. When I am eating Turkish food, I don't want trendy, I don't want crowded, I don't want loud, I don't want anything to distract me from enjoying every bite.
I can't tell you the price of the food here, because I really don't care, they can charge me double and I will still eat here.
Oh, if I could marry one of the Turkish waitress there and she could cook Turkish food everyday, my life would be complete........ and I would be fat.
Seven's, if I could rate you on your lahmacun and lebni, 4 stars easy. But I made the mistake of ordering your Seven's Special Pride "pide" -- think Turkish pizza -- and it was below average. The description was well above average "a thick dough crust stuffed with turkish sausage, pastrami, mozzarella and ground meat topped with egg." But the result was a greasy mess. Now, the lebni on the other hand -- perfect dipping sauce for the lahmacun, "flat bread topped with ground lamb and chopped vegetables." Sounds not nearly as good -- but one of my favorite UWS go-to delivery dish combos.
We came across this restaurant by accident and what a nice surprise. The food was delicious, no wait at 7 on a Friday night and courteous service. I ordered falafel and hummus (two sides) for my meal and it was perfect. The white sauce was really tasty. My boyfriend had chicken and lamb kebabs that were cooked just perfectly. The chicken was nice and moist.
Eh.
You really don't need more of an description.
The service and the food were : eh. At best, mmhmm.
I wouldn't come back if I had a choice. Reservations were not made, but we were seated immediately anyway. The service was a bit snobby, and the prices were much more than the taste deserved-although I really advise against the salad (but why order salad if you're going to *eat*, right?). The place was nice enough, but it might be too nice than you expect as it is a bit formal.
All in all, there are better places to eat, have fun and squander the money.
Totally solid delivered Turkish food. I'd get it the next time I felt like a kebab.
This place has amazing Turkish food. I eat here at least twice a month and I come from the East Side just to dine here. The Salmon is delicious, the Shish Kebob and Hummus are to fabulous and the service is usually pretty good. They also have a great deal for their lunch specials.
Not that impressed by the food - bland and boring and expensive for what you get. Would not return.
Really good Turkish spot. Go with several people who like to share so you can taste a bit of everything: you'll get the best bang for your buck that way and you seriously do wanna try more than one dish here. The environment's kinda lame, wannabe formal, not laid back like youd expect a turkish place to be... i went there for a reunion, so the event kinda fit the place but I can't imagine who I'd go back with... i guess its a good business lunch spot... or a blind date spot if your that type of person... but hey, if you like turkish food this is the best of it: grilled, juicy, tasty.
I was really in the mood for some kebabs so I ordered take out from this place. I ordered around 7pm on a weeknight, was told about 30 minutes and did not receive my food until almost 8pm. Upon arrival, I was pleased to see that they had given me two pieces of yummy flat bread. The salad included was kinda yucky with a little bit of browning lettuce...no huge deal as that wasn't what I was looking forward to anyway. However, I opened the container for the main entree (1/2 lamb doner and 1/2 chicken kebab) and was disappointed at the amount. There were only 5 pieces of chicken! The amount of lamb was small. Yes, it was enough food for me BUT it was take out and cost me about $20 (for which I was expecting a bigger quantity and quality of food). In conclusion, probably wouldn't order take out from them again...maybe it would be better to eat in?
As an American-Turk who knows delicious traditional Turkish food from the times visiting my grandma and aunts in Turkey, I give this restaurant my full endorsement.
Best Turkish Food.
