Alright, I guess I'll chime in too since I also attended a wedding here [surprise surprise].

It's a pretty nice and well-hidden venue. I had NO idea such a nice location existed in Laguna Beach...!

No, really, I don't get out all that often :P

Anyway, I really didn't think anything else besides lumbar yards alike existed along the 133 near Laguna. But now I know better. The venue was really cool - the ceremony was upstairs and outdoors, and had a cool Hawaiian feel to it. It was probably the fake [or was it real?] bamboo and rock speakers playing "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz the whole time before and after the ceremony. Anyway, it reminded me a bit of Iao Valley park in Maui.
The reception was held downstairs and indoors where there was a nice blend of simple mixed with frou-frou. The lighting was pretty cool. And there was plenty of room to dance. Nice monitors and speakers as well. Okay, getting to nerdy now...

And yea, the bathrooms are kinda weird. Another issue, besides the see-thru glass partitions, is the fact that the doors swing inward and outward in such a small space. I hit a dude opening the door :O Good thing he didn't hit me back because he looked pretty buff. I even thought it was clear because I looked through the frosted glass and thought I saw nobody standing there. What a surprise. Other than that, it's awkward using the bathroom and trying not to wonder if the other guy can really see you or not. Ugh...

All in all, a pretty cool place.

I just attended a wedding at [seven-degrees], and it was absolutely beautiful!!

The venue is very modern and the lighting was just amazing! The staff were all very helpful -- there were people there helping with the bar, the sound, the lighting, and a wedding coordinator.

My only big problem with the venue was the BATHROOMS.

Get this: THE PARTITIONS ARE GLASS. It's obscured glass, but it's still glass, people. YOU CAN SEE RIGHT THROUGH IT.

This means that, if you're peeing next to someone else, you can see their every move. You can't exactly make out their faces or see the cellulite on their thighs, but you can see them readjusting their pantyhose and everything else.

I didn't pee all night except the one time that there was NO ONE else in the bathroom.

Hopefully, they will see this review and do something about those partitions!! WORST IDEA EVER!!!! That just cost you a star, [seven-degrees]!!

Other than that, it was a beautiful venue, and I wish I could afford to get married there.

I came here for the club last night which was a Saturday night.  This place has some SERIOUS potential.  The venue is beautiful.  I see from reviews that a lot of weddings are held here and I can see why.  Gorgeous.  I could see this place taking off just because of the venue, it's like a hidden gem :).  It's spacious, you can walk around, and it has beautiful scenery.

Club wise though, bad music.   We requested dance music and he told us he had a playlist.  A playlist of trance?  Seriously?   The room where you dance in is huge and it was COMPLETELY empty.  Everyone was outside at the time.  OK So if I'm a DJ and my room is completely empty and the people that come up want me to play something I'm gonna want to keep them there!  Right?  Nope.  Homedude told us no.  It was almost as if it were a pride thing like it was a blow to his DJ skills which is not the case.  Part of being a good DJ is understanding what people want.  So we walked out and left the room empty.  We attempted to go back into the room and when we got drunk enough we went in there and danced but it was still scarce and the music was still bad.  Dude what is wrong with playing hip hop in the OC?  Why is it that this place and Sutra all skip the hip hop that will make you get down on the dance floor?  I am not partial to hip hop, I love a lot of other stuff too, but hip hop is sure to get you to dance. (IE:  "Everybody in the club gettin tipsy").  They can always start with this and throw some trance in there later.  I am not alone in my dislike toward the music, as the dance room was big and awesome...but empty.  Everyone was outside!  I should add that there are a ton of beautiful places to go if you don't like the music.  There's a spot upstairs with chairs and it was very nice.

Drinks were priced well and the bartenders were really nice.  We kept going back to this really nice lady outside.  The staff (besides the DJ and his friends) were really pleasant and not rude at all.

OK so we just got back from Vegas last weekend and the DJ in the Guess store at Ceasars is better than this and better than Sutra.  Seriously.  The Guess Store.

There was a guy that worked there named Spencer that was very nice and was really trying to make everyone happy (I think he worked there).  It is because of him that I might give this place another try in the future because maybe it will get better, considering the potential is there.  This place is hard to rate....

Venue - 5 stars
Decor - 5 stars
Bathrooms - 5 stars
Employees (besides DJ) 5 Stars
DJ - 1 Star  (but that's a big deal!)

I guess I will go with 3 all together....  If you're gonna get married there it's probably a 5.

Seven Degrees was the venue for O.C. Weekly's Artopia event. I was amazed by the venue. It has several levels to it inside and outside. This venue has great space and great lighting. The bathroom was unique as the walls are semi transparent. I do wish they had more stalls in the bathroom. This place is very modern and architectural.

A great place for Art & Music events.  It has a lounge/club/gallery/mansion feel to it.  Something you typically find in the Hollywood/L.A. Hills.  It has a very nice patio area...though it's fake.  The event we attended had several food and beverage setups.  It also had an area for dancing, a fashion show, art displays and outdoor smoking areas.   I read that they have weddings there....that would be pretty amazing!  I would definitely go back to any event at this place.

Yes, I also attended a wedding here. Someone had canceled and so my friends were able to grab a date at Seven Degrees in February.  Since it was during the off season, Seven Degrees gave my friends a huge discount on the venue price which included a wedding coordinator.

Free parking outside although we took one of the last spots because there are other shops around Seven Degrees.  It's a bit too modern for me, but if you're into that type of art and structural building, than you may like this place.

Ceremony was held outside in the far back end of Seven Degrees with the hill and stairway backdrop.  We couldn't see the bride and groom exchange their vows since the guest sat on a higher ledge and the bridge/groom were in a sucken room below.  Yes, it doesn't help that the bridge and groom are short too.

Reception was in a spacious hall/exhibition room.  Food was buffet style and quite tasty.  Not at all your typical prom food.  Service was great and alcohol was free flowing.   There were even small tv's everywhere so everyone can see the slideshow the wedding party put together.  Only thing was, I hated the drab warehouse style gray floors and that you had to walk outside in the freezing cold to the restrooms.

The main walkway to enter/exit is covered in a bright red carpet and there was fake snow swirling towards the end of the night which was also gorgeous.

Very eye-catchy. Hip and fun. The architecture is amazing, and the main room is enormous and very decorative friendly. The upstairs patio is gorgeous and has a beautiful garden path. Great place to hold an event.

I attended a wedding here on a Saturday afternoon in April.  It's a very modern and trendy setting.  It's the most unwedding-like ceremony I've ever been to.  The speeches were kept short and to the point and it had an intimate feel to it.  It almost felt like a get together between good friends, except I didn't know most of the people there but I felt that way anyway.  I guess the only complaint I have is that there wasn't enough food but that has more to do with the catering than the venue I guess....

Based on my wedding experiences, if you want to make people happy at your wedding, MAKE SURE you have plenty of food and alcohol.  That's all I ever remember from the weddings I've attended except my Brother's wedding of course.

it seems this is the place to be on your wedding day... considering the other reviews here are for weddings as well. what does that say about the art?
In any case, it is perfect for weddings. I attended one there for about 750 guests and the size and layout couldn't have been better suited. Parking was free and available on the street just outside; the ceremony was on the roof level, tented due to the wind factor but allowing just enough sunlight to still feel beachy and outdoors; and the reception was on the second level in what seemed to be the exhibition space.
The venue came with its own staff for the event and they were extra attentive and very good. The food, which I assume came from the venue's own kitchen (though I don't know for sure), was interesting and different and pretty good as well.
Plus, everything was very sleek and pretty... which is what you want on your big day, right?
Only con with this joint... I'm from LA and that drive to the outer edge of the OC is painful... especially coming home from an open bar.
