Garabed is gifted in both technical skills and in the ability to convey those skills to others. Our organization asked him to tutor us in InDesign. He is incredible and I would recommend him with no hesitation whatsoever. He must teach for fun; he gave us an excellent price that seemed deeply discounted because we are a nonprofit. After the session, I couldn't believe he gave us that price - he took so much time to create a customized curriculum, teach each of us, and then follow up and answer questions. He has a knack for explaining complicated issues in a way that is methodical and thorough. And he is very friendly, approachable, easy to talk to, and just generally a delight to be around. You can tell he really believes in sharing skills and in educating others. It's who he is.

I have taken several classes with Garabed at CCTV, where he is known as the guy who can answer any question you have about Photoshop or Final Cut Pro. He does an excellent job of teaching class. As someone who has taught media courses, I know that teaching technology can be a bit like herding cats. You turn your head to answer a question and when you turn back, half the class is already two steps ahead in the wrong direction and the other half has accidentally switched screen focus to Finder or some other program and is thoroughly confused.
Garabed is patient and knowledgeable, but besides that, *he is well prepared.* He comes to class with lesson plans prepared and carefully prepared media files for us to work on so we are all on the same page and in a position to make a quality sample project. He has handouts that are amazingly helpful, and beyond that, he is accessible. He is the nicest guy and encourages everyone to come to his media help sessions.
Also, he is free with his knowledge--he gives away his video compression secrets and settings for free in class, which is crazy since good compression is so hard to find! -

Garabed is awesome! I needed his consulting to learn to use an HD camera for a work project and he trained me so well and patiently. He showed me how to optimize lighting, exposure, and audio. He also taught me about different softwares for converting and editing video, which I knew nothing about before. He's a great teacher and very kind person, and I highly recommend him!

Garabed Setrakian is a great teacher. I took a Final Cut Pro class with him and his learning materials were meticulously made as well as available online for us afterwards to refer to. He put so much thought into our lessons and answered all of our nit-picky questions with thoroughness. He is high energy and very knowledgeable. I will be taking Advanced Final Cut Pro with him in a few weeks, and I can't wait!

Garabed is a great instructor. I have taken a Final Cut Pro course with him and the class was excellent. He is very good at explaining complex processes and at conveying important, basic ideas, too.

Garabed is a competent instructor and very well rounded, his extensive knowledge of Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Final Cut are impressive to say the least. He can answer all your questions from software quirks, to differences between versions of the same product to what you can or can not do with Final Cut Express vs. Pro. If you have anything to do with these softwares, what I just said should resonate very hard with you. If you have the opportunity to take any of his classes, do not hesitate to do so. You will be glad you did.
