Wow.  I'm review #104.  I didn't know that many people actually reviewed malls.  Maybe I should check the other malls that I've been to.

Anyway, next to Stonestown this was the closest mall to me growing up.

It's changed a lot since the last time I was here.  It looks cleaned up a bit and I liked that they had some kiosks in the center.

Eff this mall and the horse it road in on. The only saving grace is the taro yogurt  and Target.

It scares me that many of the people who shop here presumably have drivers licenses. Their lack of cart maneuverability and poor spacial orientation in general are signs that they should not be behind the wheel of thousands of pounds of car. Oh the parking lot fender benders I've seen!

Anyway if you enjoy being run into by families of stupids and having these same people cut in line you should definitely come here, you'll be quite happy.

I grew up with this mall. And as I grew older, I began to realize that it did, indeed, have its flaws. I mean, it wasn't the best mall in the Bay Area. No, not even close. But ugh, this is my third review update, and I'm still confused about how I really feel about this place. Let's give it a little rundown, shall we?

Parking: Horrible. Very hard to park, even on the weekdays. But if you don't mind a little walking, then there are TONS of spaces near the back. You see, most of the people who shop here are lazy asses. Parking can get especially hard in the Target/Mervyn's wing. Stick near the Macy's entrance and you'll do better.

Structure: One-story mall, so you'll immediately realize that it's actually too small to be considered an actual "mall." I mean, if you didn't stop by any of the stores, then you could pretty much walk around the entire place in about five minutes. Nice and shiny tiles grace the floors of this fine establishment, so it's pretty comfortable walking in this place. Dim lighting that's perfect for zombies.

Stores: Mostly appeals to the younger crowd, like teenagers or young adults. Perfect examples are your "usual" mall stores, like Hollister, Forever 21, Anchor Blue, PacSun, and Charlotte Russe. Going through a severe identity crisis and thinks it can be a little more high class with stores like Macy's, 2b bebe, and I heard they have a Men's Warehouse now. Also trying to expand its crowd with a GameStop, a GNC, and even some uniform place for nurses. WTF? Still comes crashing back down to earth with a store like Against All Odds. And for all you baby mamas, you can take your kids shopping at Crazy 8, The Children's Place, and even a Disney Store! And you can gush all you want at all those cute little puppies and kitties and bunnies over at the Pet Store! Includes a Regis salon with hairdressers who have no idea how to cut side bangs.

Food Court: Recently remodeled, so the crappy food court you once knew is now a new swanky place for fine dining. Choices include Hot Dog on a Stick, Great Steak & Potato Company, Manila Bay Cuisine, Sbarro, Panda Express, Thai Spice, a Mongolian place, and a DQ/Orange Julius. Recently added a Lori's Diner, formerly Betty Boop's and Panera Bread. Nice seats, plenty of tables, refreshing feeling, and even a nice faux fireplace with cushioned chairs.

Other Restaurants: Taco Bell, Burger King, Elephant Bar, Rubio's, Starbucks, McDonald's, and another cafe/restaurant that I forgot the name of. All restaurants are horrible branches of otherwise fine places (except for the Taco Bell and the Burger King).

Crowd: Teenie boppers, grandpas, young moms with their kids, teenie boppers, ghettos, teenie boppers, ghettos.

Something wants me to hate this mall, but I just can't bring myself to do it... I mean, if you took away the usual crowds that go here and the quality of the stores, then it would actually seem like an okay place to shop. I mean, there's a Target! There's actually a decent amount of stores here, and a new food court that looks beautiful. But once you put everything back in--the ghetto people, the lack of good quality in their stores, and the lackadaisical attempt to put any variety in the food court--then it does seem pretty bad.

But for right now, just try to find a good parking spot, walk around the entire mall, and just buy SOMETHING. Just try.

I used to hang out at this mall when I was in high school and it was over 15 years ago.  I took a visit to this mall over the weekend and boy, it was like walking through San Jose fleet market.  When the heck did they have piles and piles of vendors lined up in the middle of the mall?  It's one thing to have vendors, but when they are all pratically selling the same things?  The mall was packed of people, dark and messy.  Can this mall be any worse than it is now?

The mall is Meh. Most of the stores cater to teeny boppers. The food court is tiny and unexciting. Mall is in a funny layout. There was only a handful of stores I would want to visit. The base stores are Target and Macy's. Only thing different from this mall is probably the Giants Dugout. and maybe Elephant Bar . The Target seems larger than other Targets but going there is as exciting as toast.
Plenty of parking but people are too lazy to park far away so they jam up the parking lot looking for something closer.

I have been going to this mall since I was a kid. I really miss Mervyn's.

I am directing my review towards the kiosk that duplicates car keys at Serramonte Mall called Frames & Keys.

I needed a duplicate key for my car and at first the guy at the kiosk (don't remember his name) he seemed nice and told me he didnt have the key that I wanted and that he needed to order it so I would have return in a couple of days, fine tha'ts what I did. I went back a second time thinking my key was there but Mr. Kiosk man forgot to order my specific key, fine this time I left my number with him. Third time I go to the kiosk and Mr. Kiosk man told me he forgot once again about my key but this time gave me his number so I could check to see when my key arrives (but that was pointless since he never answers his phone). Just out of curiosity I went back a fourth time and of course no key. I just gave up. I guess Mr. Kiosk will duplicate your car keys if you are only Filipino. What a jerk-off.

After all this I got my key done at Lock World in SF with no BS and great service!

This mall has been in my life for 20+ years.

I always see someone I know here, because this is where all the Filipinos come to buy gifts at Macy's, the newest J's at Foot Locker (wuttup Cess!), lingerie at Victoria's Secret, random necessities at Tar-zhay (or Target is fine), or just come to walk around when there's nothing else to do.  And then there's that store with the DJ inside.  See I'm too old for all that.  But I do love me some pepper jack cheese on-a-stick!  Can't leave Serramontsky without it.  Oh, and I also can't leave without picking a cute top from Charlotte Russe, 'cuz I'm passed the skimpy material at Forever 21--thank you very much!

I still subconsciously look for that damn fountain, though.  Too bad they took it away.

Close to my place, has a forever 21 for my hoochie clubbing needs, and there's a target.
I don't see it as a real mall, like stonestown or something, because it lacks enough stores to make it a real mall to me.
It's kinda like a plaza w/some stores thrown together, u prolly won't find much, but target is always cool.

Wow.  I went to this mall a couple of weeks ago, and growing up in Daly City, this was the mall to go to.  But now that I have moved to Sacramento and discovered the awesome malls there and as well as the awesome malls in places I traveled to, this place seems...ehh...idk...miniscule.  You know, the last resort kinda place.  Still though, I'm not hating on it because it WAS a part of my childhood and it still hits close to home.  I'm a bit bummed out that they took out the fountain (that's what gave Serramonte character!!  I remember how I used to throw my coins at the fountain and make a wish!!) but what can you do.

Here's what I like:
1.  The pet store!!!  I've always loved the pet store...and when I went there, the bunnies were so tiny and cute!
2.  How they added Hollister (I wish there was a Hollister in any of the Sacramento malls)
3.  Both Forever 21's (For Love 21 and Forever XXI)
4.  Panda Express
5.  Sanrio Store
6.  Elephant Bar

Serramonte kinda reminds me of the Sunrise Mall in Citrus Heights...the place to go to if you're really desparate (even though there are better malls around), and is full of high schoolers...but then again, Citrus Heights is the Sacramento version of Daly City.

The Serramonte center isn't exactly the preferred mall of choice nor is it high class. Recently, they've undergone some renovations to the food court and added some additional stores, for instance, Forever XXI in addition to the Forever 21 which has been moved and updated. It's still got a pet store in it which makes it one of the few malls with one (I personally hope they get shut down as I don't believe in supporting puppy mills and giving backyard breeders more reason to make a buck at the cost of a living being) and the food choices have gotten a bit better. There is also an elephant bar, a rubios and jamba juice near. I used to frequent the Target in this mall in my earlier college days. It's definitely not the greatest mall for sure, but it will always hold special memories of high school and early college years for me and friends I'm sure.

Note: The decor and appearance could sure use a face lift.

First review

So i go to this mall a lot, every week basically. Its no Westfield in SF or anything. It has only one floor. But here's what is there.

Stores:
A lot of clothing stores for younger people given there are three schools less than a mile away, e.g anchor blue, hollister, pac sun, journeys. Literally at every corner there are jewelry stores which is really annoying to me. The biggest stand out Giants dug out and the pet store. Its main stores being the Macy's and Target which aren't bad, the Target is serramonte's biggest draw.

Food:
The newly remodeled food court, you may not notice the first time but is split on two sides, The Asian and the American side. I personally suggest going for the Quick Grill on the asian side. But you'll see the biggest line at the Panda Express. Also you have the fast food, e.g McDonalds and Burger King. Also the Elephant Bar which is not too great. starbucks and jamba juice  has a nice ambiance going.

Crowd:
Lots of asians, teeny boppers, and teeny bopper gangsters. Old people at the food court, parents at the Target and teens everywhere else. Best not to go there after 2:45 on weekdays if you have problems with it.

But overall this store has everything in my opinion, but i think a bookstore should be in need here. Its a place to do some quick shopping and you might hate this place after so many hours.

But why a 4 because i always see people i know, i know the mall, and i grew up with it.

I have been coming to this mall my entire life.  I even remember playing in the center of the mall, when it was an amazing fountain that went passed the glass ceiling of the mall.  I even worked at 3 different places at this mall for about 3 years of my life.  So I have definitely seen this mall grow to what it is today (+1 star).

There has been many changes to the different stores that have come and go, but the majority have stayed put.  I can tell that they are now trying to appeal to the age group that most frequents the mall, which are high school students.  Something I never liked was how plenty of the younger crowd will just go to this mall to just be there.  Usually it wouldn't bother me, but when I'm trying to get my shopping done and I have a group of teenage boys trying to get my phone number (- 1 star) ... I can get a bit irritable.

I stopped going to mall to avoid the crowds of teenagers just walking around and checking each other out as though it is some sort of club (- 1 star) ... I'll only go here if I really need something that I can't get anywhere else -- or maybe for a bite to eat, since I can just stay at one wing of the mall.

There used to be this great Japanese place called Sushi Sushi in the food court, but they closed and I'm not sure if they've moved anywhere else (- 1 star) ... but for now Quick Grill will have to do (+ 1 star).

Lastly, parking here can be such a hassle with all the terrible teenage drivers being extremely reckless (- 1 star).

How can I hate on this mall? I'm not gonna lie, yeah back in the day I used to bop it like no other, and serramonte was my perferred choice to do it. And don't lie you guys know you did it too! Sure they spruced up the damn place, but it's not like it really helped. There's still the same stores, with the same people. We still got the new generation boppers, and the lolo's and lola's posting it up around the food court. So what?

Yeah, this mall has nothing on Stonestown or SF shopping Centre. But whatever man, this place is close to home and dear to my heart. Too many memories up in this mugg. Besides their Forever 21 is huge, and they have a jamba juice! I don't care if you see everyone and they momma's here I still keep coming back.

Not bad for the area I guess. They have XXI, which is Forever 21's flagship store here. Good selection and as always, CHEAP.

The food court is decent too. There is a Filipino restaurant that I must go back and try. Manila Bay. Something like that.

Oh yeah. And Daiso is just across the parking lot.

This place use to have an arcade. A freakin' arcade. What is it now? I have no freakin' clue... it was like fifteen to twenty years ago... I can't remember such things.

This place was always covered with Filipinos... ever since I first came here when I was a kid... but I still never felt at home, despite me being part Flip myself. I don't like the layout. They killed the awesome giant fountain and put something else in its place. I guess it's a fountain... not really, though... more like a manmade pond or something.

But yeah, this place is ghetto. I thought Stonestown was bad with the little boppers hanging out... shit. This place has two Gamestops... two... and both really don't have anything. The only good place to go to in this mall is FYE... but personally I'd rather go to Virgin or Amoeba or go online because I wouldn't be able to find smaller rock bands in this place.

I use to like going here when I was a kid... but ever since they took out the arcade and fountain, all it is to me is a crowded parking lot with a food court, crappy shops, and overpriced restaurants.

this has got to be the worst mall around San Francisco.  other than the Target, all the other shops pretty much suck.  And trust me, if the Target wasnt there, I would never come.  Even the Macy's there is crappy.  All the stores are on the lower end of the shopping mall spectrum.

I just came here again the other day to shop for clothes to wear for my photoshoots and just because I haven't really been here for a while . This mall isn't actually that bad . It's a great place to shop for clothes you would wear for photoshoots . I like this mall because it has a Target , Spencer's , Hot Topic , Daiso , Naturalizer , and For Love 21 . Although , I think this mall is a better place to go for food compared to clothing .

It's interesting to have a perspective of this place in several stages of life..

Ok so it's not the best mall in the world... and this is probably just nostalgia speaking but... this mall helped raise me...

My parents are divorced, and when I was younger, my dad didn't really know how to entertain me at times, I didn't live with him so my friends in the area were limited, and I was his only child it's was all very new to him... So he would take me to the mall... to people watch and spoil me with toys from KB (no longer there). He would take me to O'Farrells (then Toons, now it's like Daiso or something) and I would eat Ice Cream and play video games and look at myself in the funhouse mirrors.
In my Tween years, my friends and I would get dropped off by one of our parents and spend the day in Hot Topic and Clare's and various other "Cool Spots", then in High School my friends and I would take the bus, or sometimes walk/skate/shopping cart ride up here to reek havoc with the sales people I'm sure.
@ 16 or so I got my very first job here... and a few years later I again worked here. In total I had 3 jobs @ Serramonte.. and although retail isn't my thing... I learned a lot and gained alot of friends from these employment ventures!
I haven't been here in over a year...and the last time I went in, it was like walking into the past in so many ways I can't count.
They've spiffed it up since I was little, adding a pond with Koi and Turtles...and stores have come and go... but Serramonte is definitely a staple to visit when I go back to SSF/DC area.
Maybe when I'm old I'll be in that weird group of old people who walk in the mall on Sundays before it opens...

By far the most ANNOYING mall on Earth. I swear, the teeny boppers there annoy the living hell out of me. Like, can't they go somewhere else and loiter there instead of annoying people who actually shop there?? They all dress like clones. It's easy to spot them. For girls: superlong dyed hair, oversized earrings, cellphones hanging from their necks, colorful clothing (mostly plaid or checkered), skinny jeans, Vans = check. For guys: oversized/baggy jeans, tall tees that reach their knees, and Nike Air forces. I agree with what the other person said: if you HAVE to buy something there, go before 3pm or before school gets out or else you'll have to bear with the annoying buzz from the boppers. Ew.

Another thing that annoys me is that when you want to grab something to eat at the food court, you first have to go through that kiosk that sells lotions (the name of the damn thing escapes me). "Can I ask you something?" "Do you want to try this new lotion?" Blah blah blah I just want to freakin eat dammit.

It's like the only place where extremely old people and extremely young people chill at.

The only place I love at this mall: Jamba Juice. Thank goodness they opened a branch there!

I only go to this mall for my main reason, forever21. It's so big! Yet the mall is filled with teeny boppers who crowd the way hugging and just talking in big groups! How can you get around them when you're in a rush? Easy, exercise then try to push them out of the way... K so I like it yet not in love with it. Packed on black Friday. I want a nicer food court!

This mall is appalling.

Maaaybe their Forever XXI is decent, but it's so overcrowded and filled with boppers that it's really not worth it. there are other Forever locations in the bay that can be visited.

I used to think this place was the one mall to get shoes from.. but no omg...just...im annoyed thinking about this mall to even bother to explain.

Parking SUCKS. The mall's waay too overcrowded and the streets are annoying. The stop signs dont allow anyone to actually get into the street. (There are two... streets right next to each other. the STOP sign on the left for some reason always gets their car out first so the STOP sign on the right doesnt move out any cars. I know I'm confusing huh...)

And...The worst thing ever: THEY HAVE A PET STORE from which PRECIOUS BABY KITTENS AND PUPPIES ARE SOLD.
I'm SO mad! It's like, borderline legal/illegal... I dont know what the rules are anymore.

As a yorkie owner, I was personally offended to see TWO of these precious babies sitting in cold cages under a florescent light. They looked MISERABLE. I'm in tears right now thinking about them. SO FUCKING SAD. If i had the money I'd break in and steal all these animals and find loving homes for them and use my buckets of money to pay off the lawyer/court fees for the felonies I'd committed on behalf of these babies. But I can't... and so I yelp.

I'd rather shop at tanforan.

This place sucks.  The stores suck.  The people suck.  The food court sucks.  Suck, suck, and more suck.  I had written a long review explaining the suck in great detail...but it described it so vividly that I don't feel it was appropriate for some of the faint at heart.  So I have removed the inappropriate section of the review of suck and instead of new details of the suck, I am going to write this about the suck:

Suck suckity suck suck and more suck for suck.  It sucks, has sucked, and will always suck.  He, she, we think it sucks and it sucks, that sucks, this sucks, does suck, is suck, and flat out sucks. Suck.

I like the Asian themed decoration and the recent upgrades. Macy's is the cornerstone and the Target Store seems to be the busiest. You have your usual stores geared towards teenagers in-between. Among the aforementioned stores, the Giant's Dugout and Hat Club are the ones I frequent the most. However, the Elephant Bar Restaurant was a nice addition.

Saying that, it is what it is. You get what you pay for. Take it or leave it. Like every other mall, it has some positives and negatives. But it will suffice none the less.

And one more thing: it has plenty of parking spaces, you just have to know where.

You fooled me when i was 11, but not now. im too grown up for your, lets put couches in the mall and take out the old fountain, tactic. at least the old fountain had some character. now youre just a mall that tries to change with the time and changes every zombie in the city whos sucked into coming here.

Ah the Serramonte Center right off the 280 hwy, you have to race off the freeway and be sure you know which way to turn into the mall.  Now this place gets packed quick.  All the Filipinos love to shop their paychecks away.  That is about 80% of this mall, Filipinos.  The stores are ok, but not very huge.  I do give props to their forever 21, it is pretty big outside of the SF one.  So in the end I won't really go to this mall unless they have something that I want and they have.

Besides that, you can probably catch me there.

I'll keep this short  ...

As if the overly populated mall of wannabe gangsters couldn't get any worse - the stores now decided to hire these walking wastes of placentas too ... really? wow. Try asking them a question about the product or service they're giving and you'll most likely get one of the following responses:

"I don't know."
"uhh."
or they just walk away and pretend they didn't hear you.

Nothing to do here but window shopping or go to Targets.  Stare at the pinoys.   The food count is always full but have to eat at Targets  or Macdonald's.

How come whenever I come here I feel like I'm gonna run into a relative?  Especially when passing by the Food Court where all the Pilipino Titos and Titas, Lolos and Lolas chill... In that area, I look straight ahead and try to not make eye contact with anybody.

Not that I'm trying to be anti-social... I just don't want this type of compulsory conversation to take place:

Pilipino Auntie: "Ssssst!  Ay Banessa!  Wat ahre u doeng hear? Where es Daddy?"

Me: "Oh, hi Auntie." (In my head - "Dammit,  She saw me!!!!!!!")

Me: "Oh...He's at home." (Because you know - me and my Dad usually ALWAYS go EVERYWHERE with each other - ?!)

Pilipino Auntie: "Do U heb boyprend?  Ahre u mehrr-id?"

Me: "No...not married, Auntie."

Pilipino Auntie: "Ohhhhhhh - u arh too ohld now. Your Mammy sed bepore U went trabbeling by your-selp. See was so wohrried!  Stahp trabbeling!  Go to dee Pilip-pins ahnd merry a dohctohr!  Mebbe I ahsk - I heb neppew whoo is still sing-gehl.  See is twaynte-pibe years old!"

Me: "But Auntie...I'm 30."

Pilipino Auntie: ...

Pilipino Auntie: "Okey - sey 'hi' na lamang to your Doddy den, ha? Byee!"

*SIGH*

As a kid my mom would drag me and my brother to Serramonte what seemed like every weekend to try on new slacks or sweaters or whatever ridiculous costumes my mom thought we looked "smart" in. I grew to detest it. Well, I popped in recently, more for a trip down memory lane than for any practical shopping purposes.

First off, it's cold as shit in there. I mean like hat and gloves cold. Besides that, what I found was really not that much different from what I had remembered as a child save for a few updates like cell phone kiosks, Hot Topic and the sickly sweet smell of Victoria's Secret perfume samples. But mostly, decidedly un-glammy and un-boutiquey suburbian chains like Lane Bryant, Foot Locker and Mervyn's. Which is fine, just boring as hell.

The food court is a sad affair as well. They've got the stuff you would expect to find at any mall, Sbarros, Hot Dog on a Stick, Panda Express and a couple of pathetic steam table joints thrown in there to jazz things up. The crowning glory, however, is the Orange Julius. I remember BEGGING my mom to get us these things and years later the memory of its creamy frothy goodness compelled me purchase one so that I could taste its sweet ambrosia yet again.  What I got instead tasted like little more than a creamsicle thrown into a blender with some ice cubes. AND a small was $2.95. Oranges aren't that expensive so I surmise that Julius prices must be skyrocketing.

Anyway, a pretty disappointing outing. I don't know what I was expecting. To reclaim a snippet of my happy carefree childhood? To taste what it was like to be eight years old again? I never really liked it in the first place and you know what they say about first impressions. I don't mean to hate on malls. They certainly serve a purpose but if I want to be depressed while shopping I'll try on a Speedo.

You can stop laughing now. It's not THAT funny...jerks.

This is a place where doing a PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTT will elicit many heads looking in as many directions as possible looking for the person that PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTT'd and then going on their merry way when they realize that it wasn't one THEIR friends trying to get their attention, or the mom that PSSSSSSSSSSSSST'd their kid, and then whomped them on the head for gallivanting at the mall for too long.  Try it.  Seriously.  It's one of the funniest things.  Ever.

This place is a camp ground for older Filipinos to sit around and shoot the shit with their friends, as well.  It's actually quite cute.

I guess for a neighborhood this mall is A-OK.  I couldn't believe no one's done a review.

The Target here is "eh" so-so.  It's packed, a mad house, super crazy and really stressful to shop here.  Too bad Montgomery Wards wasn't this busy, they probably wouldn't have gone out of business.  Then again, we wouldn't have two Target's across the freeway from each other if Wards was still around.  I really despise coming to this Target, craziness aside, they are usually out of stock on things and the clerks aren't very nice.  They are much nicer at Colma Target.

The Macy's is seriously lacking in selection of merchandise; it's quite paltry and I'm not even comparing it to Union Square.  If you absolutely have to go, go here, but if you can go a couple of extra miles, try Stonestown or Hillsdale.  They do have a huge MAC counter, but it's always deluged with girls getting ready for their quincineras or proms.

The Ritz Camera is good.  The sales people were nice and very helpful.

I often try to find baby things at the Mervyns there and I am NEVER lucky.

The nail place is a bit dirty.  I hate walking around bare footed when I'm there.  This is my EMERGENCY only pedi place.

***MORE TO COME****

All in all, this mall is a bit on the ghetto side, but it'll do in a pinch.

There are a few things I like to do in this mall.

1.  Go to Target.
2.  Go to Longs.
3.  Picture Stacy and Clinton from "What Not to Wear" looking over all the shoppers sadly, shaking their heads, and calling it a day.  (I once counted half a dozen different shoppers who were wearing flannel pajama pants.)

Throw on your rattiest weekend clothes (or just head out in your pajama pants), hit the Target and Longs, buy what you need, and head on home.

Serra-Manila! WOOT! Yes it is ghetto, and yes it is super ghetto at times but compared to Eastridge I would rather still spend my time here than there. I think it has more to do with the people who shop there, reminds me of being in the Philippines and I miss the Philippines. There is not much else for me to really say about the mall.....but they should really think about getting a cinnabon (or do they already have one?).

I do have some nostalgia for the establishment. I remember the last time I was at this mall. I had called my supervisor to meet me for food and drinks at Elephant Bar....and then I handed him my resignation. Funny thing is - he told me he was quitting too. LMAO Great minds think alike!
;D
BTW - I don't know why there are two listings for this place.

First off, the difference between real thugs and the average urban California kid needs to be acknowledged. Hip hop has high influence in the area on the kids and they represent that but these are not the type to mess with you (you might find that across the bay at Southland or Bayfair). For safety you're covered because the mall's got a little security force including a mini DC police station near the Callan side which brings me to another issue: parking. It's a mall and people visit malls. Expect a crowd especially on weekends and the evenings. If you didn't know, you could drive another minute around the side facing 280 and to the back where you can easily find parking near Macy's or the food court, at least that's what I've seen.

Notes: forget the Panda Express! Visit Quick Grille next door for fresh made teriyaki chicken (I'd ask for extra sauce), get to Daiso for cheap stuff (cheaper than Target for a lot of items), if you don't mind searching there's a Ross nearby with some good buys, most seats and benches are comfortable, the bathrooms are clean or get cleaned up quickly, the Macy's needs some fixing up and reorganizing.

The mall's safe, there is parking, it's DC (filipinos are everywhere!), have a seat or watch the turtles. Enjoy!

You only go to Serramonte if you know what you need to get -- not if you want to shop.  This mall has the worst customer service ever; therefore don't expect to get any help from any store whatsoever.  Let's look at some examples.

1) Giants Dugout -- we asked for a jacket size in one of the high displays, but rather than assisting us to get the size we needed, the workers said they didn't have it and ignored us when we wanted to see one.

2) MAC counter inside Macys -- I knew more than their salespeople and I don't know too much about makeup.  MAC usually has really good and knowledgable salespeople, but I guess this one just didn't have the high standards as the others.

3) Gamestop -- Looked for a Wii awhile back and the guy behind the counter snapped at us.  I'm sure you get that question all the time, but please be pleasant about it -- it's your job!

I have to say, the mall get some points for the effort in remodeling the place (RIP center court water fountain), but it still looks cheap.

Furthermore, the parking lots are dangerous.  Lots of crazy driver (almost got ran over by a security guard -- she wasn't apologetic, no joke) and you may get hit in the face from trash (DC is windy and people don't know how to throw away garbage)

Its so weird because you can drive to Hillsdales or Stonestowns and see a WORLD of difference in customer service.  Its unfortunate this place is so bad...its probably because people here are customed to getting bad service. Very unfortunate.

Cheaper clothing stores here. But men's clothes never come cheap so it doesn't apply to me. I really only come here for Target nowadays (which is much nicer than the older one a few blocks away). That's the only reason why I'm giving this mall my stamp of approval.

JONASAPPROVED!
