Better than the competition (La Caretta) and they deliver.
Since the only Cuban food I' make is Picadillo (it's freaking awesome), we order take-out from Sergio's about once a month.  I can't help it, the BF is Cuban and I know that Vaca Frita and Ropa Vieja takes a long time to make.
I especially love the Friday special, Ox Tails.  It's very similar to how my mom makes them, except it's not with soy sauce like the Asian way.  I only wish that they make Arroz con Pollo more often, it's always sold out and that's really my favorite Cuban food.

They may not have the best Cuban food in the area, but I find myself going back here quite often.  The restaurant has a homestyle feel to it and I've always had a really friendly waitstaff.  Some of the dishes I've had could benefit from a bit more seasoning (vaca frita, churrasco), but that could just be my own taste preference.  I love to come here on the weekends and pick up some coffee or cafe con leche and empanadas from the side window.  I think their beef and chicken empanadas are really tasty.  The food is relatively inexpensive overall so I think it's definitely worth a try for lunch or dinner.

Good place to grab some Lunch, it can be a quick lunch depending on the wait, it is usually about 10 to 15 minutes although it has been greatly reduced with their expanded outdoor area. The menu is basic and the quality is acceptable for an inexpensive business lunch or gathering. Breakfast outside is comfortable and allows you to take in the beautiful Miami mornings. Nothing sticks out of the menu but overall good quality and value.

Try it for a casual, relaxed experience that will not break your bank account.

I think it's a small chain of 2 or 3 locations.  Not sure what the other one's are set up like, but this one has outdoor seating.  Perfect for almost any night in Miami.  I had the Bistec de Pollo.  Cuban sandwhich made w/chicken.  Good stuff.  I would come again.

sergios is a good place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. ive been here about a million times for breakfast. my favorite is the two eggs any style, cuban toast and cafe con leche for about $3, but you can also get steak and eggs with fries, or even pancakes ... everything is pretty good here. sergio's also has great sandwiches like pan con lechon. (pork sandwich) really really good and its only $5. i had this for lunch yesterday and a side of congri (rice and beans for $2.50)... its true, it might not be the healthiest food ever but whatever. cuban food is not that healthy... (cubans invented pork fat..), you should know this before going to ANY cuban restaurant.

NO piccadillo, my high school cafeteria made better medianoches, and they forgot to give me the sauce for my fried yucca, which I didn't realize till I got home with my take-out. Blech.

Where's the good cubano sandwich? No one wants to go to Versailles anymore, but this was a cold-on-the-inside, hot-on-the-outside joke of a cuban sandwich. One pickle. No mustard.  I came away thinking, as I often do in Miami, that the safest bet would have been to order the burger.

I wasn't really too thrilled about this place.  I have had better of everything here at some other location in Miami.  I did like the service though and the food was good so this place is good but by no means the best Cuban around.

I actually like the one in Kendall Town & Country. The other ones that I have been to weren't that great. This is a Cuban diner that is open even after a hurricane hits. Steak sandwich, chicken sandwich, vaca frita, and the breakfast is nice. Try it out if you are in the area (inexpensive too).

Like with any and all Cuban restaurants, it is tough naming one as the best. However, this one is one of the most convenient since it is open 24 hours on Fridays and Saturdays. And on top of that, this place has a sport-casual feel, almost as if it was meant to be a sports bar. It has a fun vibe although I don't think they succeeded that well in a way that Joe's Crab Shack or Hooter's did.

The fajitas here? They're not Mexican fajitas. Remember that this is a Cuban restaurant. Fajitas are just fajita steak, cooked Cuban style. The one I make at home is much better though so I can't really recommend it.

I've heard many times that the sandwiches here are good, but I wasn't impressed with the pan con bistec. Maybe someone else would be. However, the pan lechon (pork sandwich) is really good.

That being said, the pork seems to be good here. The masas de puerco (pork chunks) were tasty - there were several pieces, but I'm concerned about the consistency. One of the pieces was dried out, while the others were just about right. But comparing with other Cuban restaurants, the chunks are much bigger, so I think the chunks would tend to be less dried out here than many other Cuban places.

Another thing to try here is their tortilla espanola (especially the one with plantains). The tortilla (here it is called an omelette, but it is really a frittata, which is a pan-sized egg dish popular for Spanish tapas) is huge, yummy, and a great deal. It's a great choice if you want something breakfasty although I don't think it's the best breakfast in town. I probably wouldn't mind coming back with friends to share on this huge tortillas and have some drinks while chatting ourselves away. But really, I like the lunch/dinner a lot more than the breakfast.

I also come by here for the coffee, since they have a convenient and comfy coffee and al fresco area even though it fronts the street on one side and the parking lot on another.

And the prices, most dishes in the menu are below $10. On Sundays in the daytime, this place is packed.
