1 review for Sequoia Inn
This is probably the best motel I have ever or will ever stay in. I just moved to California from Rockville, MD so I'm rather tight-budgeted at the moment. When I booked a $350/week motel I was pretty nervous about what I might find. I went back and fourth and back and fourth on whether to bring a sleeping bag to put over the bed "just in case" (I ended up ditchin that idea as I looked at the four bags I was going to have to haul through the airport by myself already).
When I got to the motel, my heart sank. Nasty nasty looking exterior. Buuuut when I opened my room I just about ran downstairs and hugged the manager. What a cute little room! Everything is very clean, the paint and decorations are lively and I'm even writing this review on my FREE Wi-Fi. Granted, its on a stretch of El Camino Real that's rather run down and half abandoned; but I haven't seen one crazy person or crackhead on the block the whole time.
Also, the location is perfect for a pedestrian. Its about 5 blocks (looong blocks though) to Caltrain, and within a block of the motel are a Pasta Pomodoro, a sushi restaurant, a laundry mat (next door) an awesome little corner/liquor store, a Starbucks and a few other things that didn't particularly interest me. If you walk down to Caltrain there's a ton of cool stuff in the city center. Much more than I expected from such a suburban city.
Save your money and stay at the Sequoia Inn.
