September's is a great American gourmet restaurant at the Streets of Indian Lake. It is Hendersonville's only gourmet or real culinary style restaurant. In their second year now I believe they are really hitting their stride is both service and food quality.
The food, in my opinion, can be hit or miss. They have some spectacularly tasty and unique offerings, like the Scallop Martini, which is asian slaw with a honey asian sauce topped with by far the richest and most tender scallops I've had in my life... served in a large martini glass with wasabi and a pimento formed in the shape of an olive. I also enjoyed the pork chops, the monkfish, and the chocolate cake ball. On the other hand I've had a couple of entrees that were very average.
They have a very large wine selection. They have two patio areas and frequently have a guitarist or other performer in the evenings. The front patio has a lounge type feel that is very relaxed.
Dress at September's is very unusual. It is an upscale restaurant, but most of the diners are wearing very casual clothing thanks to it being located in the center of an outdoor shopping mall.
I think the perception of high prices has dogged September's success, but I was there last night and they had a selection of some great-sounding entrees, especially sandwiches, for $14 or less. I had the single cut pork chops and gourmet mac and cheese for $14.
September's is my favorite place to eat in the greater Nashville area! The Polynesian strip is delicious. The mac and cheese with jalapeno is ridiculous good. They have this pepper jelly vinagrette dressing that I have never had anywhere else that is just delicious. We always have great service. And the owner's could not be nicer people. If you are looking for a great place for dinner north of Nashville, then this is the place. Nice outside dining areas also. Extra bonus - it is in the new Indian Lakes mall complex where there is an all digital movie theater right across the street. Perfect place for dinner and a movie! LOVE THIS PLACE!
Glad to see the Hendersonville get a finer restaurant, too bad that the food isn't that fine. The food isn't bad, it's just overpriced. Hamburgers are great, mac and cheese was awesome, and the pecan pie cheesecake was great. However, just not sure it's worth 50 for burgers and dessert.
