11 reviews for Senorita's
One of the Business' Favorite Reviews What's This?
Been here a few times for lunch and you get a lot of food for a great price. The space is huge and usually not that crowded for lunch, so it's great for a larger group. Service is good and fast and every time I've gone, everyone got free desserts (which come with the lunch special) even if you don't get a lunch special.
The salsa is very good, which is a must for a mexican restaurant. I usually get beans, rice, and tortillas (just for a simple meal which is a good judge of a restaurant) and they are excellent and you get enough for a meal for a few dollars.
I was really impressed with the food in this place. A friend of mine took me here and I'm not big on Mexican food (besides Taco Bell LOL), but the food here was pretty good. I ordered a Tequila Don Pepe tilapia dinner with rice and black beans.
You can choose to have this dinner with tilapia, salmon or snapper and since they ran out of snapper so I got the tilapia instead. The food was hot and had flavor. Some restaurants, nowadays, forget to add "flavor" to their food. My friend ordered the fish fajita and the food came out on a sizzling griddle and it came with guacamole, salsa and sour cream and flatbread. It looked really good.
Anyways, I also ordered the coconut mojito. Even though the glass was filled with mostly ice, the mojito was still tasty. I then ordered their chocolate fudge dessert and it was soooo good. I wish the dessert was hot but it was still good nonetheless. I highly recommend this restaurant. The restaurant has two floors and they have enough space for large parties upstairs. They also offer free delivery.
It was good food, but not worth the future attempt at parking or navigating our way there. I've had better Mexican good in Bergen county, ironically or not, so perhaps my expectations were higher given the proximity of native ex-pats. Also, if you plan on using coupons, be advised that you can't order off the lunch menu and receive the discount; the coupons are only valid for lunch, however, so it sort of backs you into a bizarre Catch-22. I think a place that offers coupons says something about where your expectations should be.
I really wanted to like, even love this place. I really miss good Mexican food. Let's start with the good things. The house margarita is pretty good. The chips are really good and the salsa has a lot of onions (which I like) and the taste is better than bland.
The service is not great. Everyone employee we talked to was very nice. The service itself was slow and forgetful.
I ordered the salmon fajitas (fishy and boring) and my husband ordered the chicken fajitas (tasteless and boring). Our kids ordered a side of shredded chicken, a side of cheese and corn tortillas. The shredded chicken tasted funky, at best (some type of bb-q sauce that went wrong) and the corn tortillas were very greasy and hard to use as they were so big.
This was our second visit and the first wasn't any better.
One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in NJ. To start the complimentary salsa and chips are amazing! They need to bottle the salsa and sell it separately. They have a great atmosphere, good music and a friendly attentive staff. The drinks, especially the Margaritas, are delicious and a good size! It's a great place to just go and have a couple of drinks with friends. I've had a few of their chicken dishes and I have yet to be disappointed. The rice and beans that compliment the main dish are just right. I am always satisfied when I eat here. I have been going to the restaurant for years and have only good things to say as I have never had a bad experience.
good food and good drinks. The service is a bit slow, specially
for the drinks. Overall nice place.
This place used to get a 3 maybe 3.5.... But after a little redo to the menu/prices Id go for a 4.... good Tex Mex.. Maybe not the best you'll ever have, in fact there are better places you could go if your willing to drive a couple miles! But they have great combos..... Though you won't find a tamale in the place... flour and corn tortillas get cooked in every which way possible try the dos burritos it's pretty dang good. And just like any Mexican place worth a damn you'll love the homemade chips, salsa, and guacomole! Oh and they deliver a rarity for a NJ mexican place.
I have had eaten here before and had a pretty decent meal, but this place has really gone downhill. I had just went to dinner with my GF and it was one of the worst meals we have ever had.The only good point was the chicken tamale in fact it was so good that i got another one.As far as the entree portion i got the chimichanga and my GF got the 3 way combo, she had a hard beef taco, beef burrito and chicken enchilada.I have to tell ya it was bland with no flavor and just all lumped together on the plate. When she went to eat her taco it just fell apart cause it was soaked from the juice of the other items from her plate. Now common sense would tell you to separate the items so this does not happen but then again we're not dealing with the brightest people on earth. My dinner ws ok but the last time i had a chimichanga it had some chese and red sauce smothered on top it after it was fried. This was not happening here, just deep fried and thrown on the plate with some rice and beans. When asked to fix it they did by putting some sauce and cheese on top of it ,but it still lacked flavor,it was a torrtilla stuffed with chicken that's it.I guess what it comes down to is that people just don't really care anymore.
Service was excellent and the food was very good. I ordered the shrimp al a casa which was abundent with jumbo shrimps and lot's of flavour. The chips and salsa were good as was the flan. The restaurant is tastefully decorated as well. My dish was not spicey, so if you are looking for hot food, order something else or tell them to turn up the heat.
The service is just a little slow for me, personally. Also, the dinner menu is kind of expensive. But the food is always yummy! I especially love their 'El Cheapo Luncho' menu. Great dishes for super low cost.
i grew up in tucson, az so i'm a bit snobbish when it comes to mexican food. senorita's definitely offers the best mexican food in the area (i.e. i'm not a big fan of mexicali rose) and the restaurant itself is quite nice. the portions are generous, tasty, and you never have to wait to be seated. it really is one of the best things that's happened to downtown bloomfield.
