This is the 2nd best racing bar in the in Country next to Siebkens in Elkhart Lake WI. The food is excellent! Get the Prime rib large or small (warning large is LARGE). If you can go for Vintage racecar weekend this is good place to watch the reenactment race with drink before settling in for a good dinner. Also check out all the cool old vintage cars that will be parked at the hotel! Also a nice place to stay for the weekend.

The historical racing fans will find a treasure trove of artifacts on the wall behind the bar.  Me?  I ordered the NY Strip steak and tried not to take forever eating it.

We had a large group of close to 20 people and the staff did a great job rearranging the tables for us on short notice.  The service was quick and attentive given the natural chaos of a group this size mixed with some (ok, a lot of) alcohol.

Before you leave, ask the bartender to show you the "finger" and the story behind it.  Not for the squeamish!

I was on  vacation in the Finger Lakes region with my boyfriend and his parents and were told to check out Seneca Lodge. It's located right next to the Watkins Glen State Park.  Upon entering, the first thing you notice is the high wooden beams and beams as part of the walls. There was a nice deck wrapped around the restaurant as well. But honestly, from the looks of it, I didn't think much of it. I thought it was just going to be like another Cracker Barrell.

We were seated promptly and our waitress told us that she was the 3rd generation in her family to has worked at the Lodge. All entrees came with salad bar (nothing special about the salad bar).   I ordered the special that night: Scallop and Shrimp Scampi. The scallops were pretty large sea scallops and my pasta was delicious. I was delighfully surprised. But I guess that's why you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.  They served wine and cheese from the local vineyards and creameries.

In addition to the restaurant, they also had a pretty busy bar in the back. Granted, Celtics vs Lakers was on...but the bar was pretty crowded. But then again, in that area, there's really not much to do except eat and drink:)
