I have been craving my annual dosing of Sees since the hubby brought home a box of Sees Candy....Nuts and Chews. Ewweee... Me thinks not!
The service was awesome, the chocolates amazing... The guy working there was great...so patient while people just stare at the treats trying to decide!
Plus Christmas Chocolate Santas and bags of balls...chocolate balls, that is...half off... -

Oh, Sees's! I love how even if I go in for a 17 cent candy, you still give me a free sample! When I lived abroad for a few years, my folks had to send me three things:tortillas from Costco, graham cracker crumbs (for making cheesecake...no one else seems to know what a graham cracker is), and a steady supply of See's pineapple truffles.
I'm pretty happy with all of their bon bons and truffles, but the pineapple and the blueberry truffles are sinfully good. How good is this See's Candy? Good enough that I brought over individual boxes of See's, as a favour with California charm for all the guests at my Scottish wedding... but don't tell Customs. -

So after heading down to Valley Brew for a friends B-day we stopped here for a small treat while wandering around Stockton. The ladies who staffed it were very polite and nice. I got a few chocolates and preceded to down them because I hadn't had any breakfast and it was 2 in the afternoon.
I was also surprised after never having bought chocolates by themselves before how cheap they were. About 7 cost me 3.50.
Cute store and fabulous chocolates. Mmmm. -

See is a old family tradition for me. It's the only place my Mom goes to get chocolate for me for special occasions.
It is a company policy for See's to give a free sample to everyone who steps in their door.
I AM SERIOUS.
Because I work nearby and visit often, they are soo cool they know my favorite chocolate and offer it to me as my sample as I enter.
How's that for customer service?!
This is hands down the best See's in Stockton. It's a boutique store and many people in the hood and far beyond frequent it. I heard at one point back in the 70s or 80s corporate almost closed it but the neighborhood fought to keep it. Thank God it worked!
The service is exceptional and the Manager, Jenn is absolutely a gem. -

If I'm not mistaken, Stockton technically is the home to the very first See's Candies store. It was founded here eons ago before moving to a larger city. Regardless of its origins, this is a traditional favorite for me.
I LOVE See's Candies!!! My family used to get a one or two-pound box around the holidays...and us kids would kindly stick our fingers in the bottom of each candy to see what kind it was. If we liked it, we ate it...but, if we didn't, we discretely placed the altered candy back in the box.!!! LOL
