Seema was quite friendly and got the job done efficiently.  She was in a bit of a rush which was a little disappointing. It is a cash only place but that's OK.
Overall, as this is the first Indian place I've been to, I would highly recommend it.  If I go again, I'll get a better grasp of how this place really is.

Cheers!

I usually end up getting my eyebrows done by Viji's Beauty Salon over on S De Anza or by another woman I know in her home, but I prefer to get my eyebrows done here at Seema's because they always do a great job. They truly pay attention to your comments and suggestions about what shape and arch you want. Sure, it's a little more expensive than Viji's, but I'm willing to pay it for a good job every time! :)

Do yourself a favor, and do not go to this place.

I call the day before to make an appointment. The guy on the phone, mind you, was extremely rude. For some reason he could not comprehend the fact that I wanted a haircut, and kept on having to hang up and call me back. Oh and then two hours later he calls me back and tells me that the lady wants more details about my hair for my haircut. I thought it was a little sketchy then, like they've never booked a haircut before.

Anyways I come the next day, and to my utter surprise I'm not even on the schedule, and the same man is sitting up there and I told him how many conversations I had had with them about this one haircut the day before. After a little bit, they take me in. I tell the lady to cut 4 inches, side bangs, and not too many layers. She doesn't wet my hair, doesn't shampoo it, doesn't comb it, and just begins. Half an hour later she tells me shes done (and mind you, hasn't combed it, blow-dried it, or anything) and she ended up cutting 7 inches, gave me no side bangs, and cut my hair uneven. I get VERY angry and she doesn't seem to care, she just moves on to her next customer, which made me even more angry. I was very close to not paying her when I left. And again, they charged a good undeserving $35.

I then go to Valley Fair's hair salon to see if there is anything they can do about my hair.  I walk in and tell the lady that I need my hair fixed ASAP. The first thing she tells me is..."where did you get that haircut? It looks very uneven." I then go to the stylist and the first thing he tells me as well is, "your hair is defintitely lopsided. Its going to take at least an hour to fix, and I'm going to have to cut off more hair." It ended up taking almost two hours to fix the mess she had made, and  I had to pay another $65 so he could fix the disaster that she made.

Do NOT go here, I repeat, do NOT go here.

I was temporarily here for the summer and was looking for a threading place close to home.  Seema's perfectly fit the bill.  It was painless (much less so than my normal joint back in Seattle) and the person who threaded me did a great job with my eyebrows, threading and plucking (no trimming as some frustrating places do)...  I'll definitely be heading back!

I came here to get an underarm wax. I think it was $10 and they did a pretty good job. It smelled kinda funny upon walking in, and the place wasn't very fancy, but the staff was friendly and fast.  It was my first time getting threading done and it was painless. Great experience and I will definitely be going back again.

Had eyebrow ($8) and upper lip ($5) threading done today.

I didn't get the woman's name but she was very fast and very thorough. She let me inspect the work and told me to take my time and to let her know if I wanted anything touched up. She touched me up and we were good.

They lose a star because I called to make an appointment, was prompted to leave a message and did. I didn't hear back from anyone in two days so I also sent an email. No response that way either. I decided to walk-in instead. No one greeted me. They didn't even tell me to sign-in. I saw a sign and did it myself. No one ever came over to check the list or anything. The lady who does the threading had a client and I guess she knew I was there for her because I was watching her work. Then she just signaled me over and didn't even say hello. I expect a little common courtesy and I don't think it's too much to ask. But I didn't get that here.

But my upper lip is hair free and my eyebrows look great, so I'll probably come back and just take the coldness.

I went here today for a full face threading.  Overall, I'm pretty happy with their work, although I've never had threading before so I really didn't know what to expect.  My eyebrows look incredible and no more facial fuzz!  The place isn't exactly the fanciest or cleanest but it is a pretty good deal ($26 for full face).  Like others have noted, no one greeted me at the door but I did see the walk-in sign-up sheet right away.  I could barely understand the woman who did my threading but even with the language barrier, I was in and out in under 30 minutes.

FYI - the hours on their website are outdated.  They're closed on Mondays and I believe they close at 5 p.m. on Sundays.  Not sure about other days.

I've been here twice now, both times very satisfied. I don't think I had the actual 'Seema,' but I had two different women and they both did a great job. The second time I went Friday after work and I did have to wait 5-10 minutes, but that wasn't a big deal. At $8 you can't beat the price!

Also note: They only accept cash (checks for totals over $50)

i used to go to seemas till she cut my upperlip with threading... i have switched to khoobsurat because of that and the fact that the lady who does my eyebrows, forehead. . . made me wait longer so she could finish the people who came AFTER me. very unprofessional & rude.
- desks look dirty as well.

A co-worker of mine has been going here for years.  I have never tried threading but recently got fed up with waxing so wanted to try it.  I thought it went well until I read the comments below.  I didn't notice but some of my eyebrow hairs were just snipped rather than plucked out.  Being a newbie, I didn't know what was considered good or bad.  But I will definitely be trying Evergreen threading & skincare on Quimby (which is actually right next to my house instead of this place that was clear across town).

I have been here a total of about 3 times for threading and waxing (legs/underarms). The first two times I had an okay experience and went back mainly because its inexpensive.

The third time was a crappy experience. First, they have an older man at the counter taking appointments, and he asks details of what you want done and then sorta shouts them out, "underarm waxingggg!!" when I walk in. Call me prudish but I feel uncomfortable with it being an old man and that he shouts out my treatment.
Second, that guy, and a second younger guy, are IN the salon now and just sit around, and when I went there because the waxing rooms were occupied (I had an apptmt, mind) they made me do the underarm wax in the middle of the main hallway/room with a curtain that was temporarily pinned up and kept falling down! It was extremely uncomfortable for me.

This is the main room which has a row of pedicure seats and the cash counter at one end and chairs in the waiting area. A section of it is curtained off separated by the wall on one side and a curtain on another. Which is okay except the curtain goes halfway across and has to be pinned up to the other half.

I had to change into a mini gown that allowed better access to underarms, and twice during the waxing the curtain fell down and the waxing assistant had to come and pin it up again. She apologized, but then I asked again if I can be moved to a room, and said I was willing to wait. The manageress asked her to continue there though.
This is no spa atmosphere.

I am NOT going back there again.

I mean really for the price I guess you can't complain too much... or can you?
Let me preface this by saying I am not a threading virgin... I was seeing Bebe Skin care queen in SF for the time I lived there and loved her... (mental note: Yelp Bebe skin care queen.) OK back to the show... I'd read a couple of reviews that this didn't hurt and I was like huh? threading hurts.. It's just a fact of being beautiful... well I went the first time and had Seema herself and she did a really good job (not as great as Bebe but ya know). Then i went two other times and didn't have Seema and it wasn't so good. One girl i think might have taken a little skin and the eyebrow wasn't as clean as even when Seema did it. The last time I went it didn't hurt at all. I was so surprised and she even used the scissors at the end to trim the brows out... when I got home I noticed little hair stubs and realized why it was virtually painless... The lady didn't pull out the hair by the root she only cut it at the skin level and THAT'S why it didn't hurt. Within a week my eyebrows looked like they belonged to a 7th grader... ummm ok a 3rd grader because 7th graders are already getting their eyebrows done at that age. I need to find a new threader in the San Jo area... any suggestions?

Went here for the first time a few weeks ago.  The service is good and they're really fast... the price for eyebrow threading is cheap (eyebrow and upper lip for $13).  And the woman who did my eyebrows gave them a really great shape... now I can really tell when I'm surprised, confused, or angry. :)

I got a hair cut plus highlights from this place and I absolutely loved the highlights. The staff was really nice and the prices were comparable to any other hair salon. I waited less than 5 minutes. I'm definitely going to come back here for a hair cut/highlights!

For those of you who think threading is less painful than waxing, I think you're crazy!  However, this was my first time threading and I was very happy with the results - fast, affordable, & nice shape.  I walked in (11:30 on a wkday) and was promptly seen although there was a steady stream of people traffic.  I can see how you'd likely have to wait awhile on a weekend.

Horrible place to get eyebrows, they don't even get all the spots, i had a really horrible experience, and it wasn't just once, it was several times.

Eyebrows are the most important part of a woman's face, which can totally change the way you look, but Seema's place was not that great, and my eyebrows were messed up for a long time, it's not worth it at all, and she's rude. sorry to say.

edit: since i found deepa last year, i haven't been going here anymore. deepa does a better job and is more thorough in my opinion. i stopped coming here after a super painful brazilian wax (read open wound). never again!
----------------

I go here regularly for lip/eyebrow threading. Seema does a good job, although sometimes she is a bit rushed and leaves little hairs on my eyebrows. If she does this to you too, just ask her to clean it up. I wish she would just be more thorough. It's very cheap though, as Margo stated.

After years of bad experiences & skin reactions from waxing, I finally found a place near by that does threading. Let me tell you ladies (or men), threading is the way to go! Seema is great at threading! Ohhh, that satisfying pain of hair getting ripped off your face, I lav it! She's great at shaping my weird shaped eyebrows and does it quickly so I can get in & out. One star off because it's not exactly the cleanest salon, but hey for $13, what do you expect?

I decided to go to Seema based on the reviews on Yelp. I've experienced threading before - and the experience can be uncomfortable, but I didn't experience any problems while she was threading me. The only thing was that I wasn't quite sure about her cues when she wanted me to shift or turn my head, so I actually bumped her with my arm while she was shaping my eyebrows. No harm done - she did a fine job. The price is great and the location is very convenient for me. Although Krystal N. comments that it's not the cleanest salon - there are places far worse than here. I will be back.

One of my college mates tipped me off to Seema and she's very good at shaping brows. It only takes about 10 minutes to get in and out, and she always takes me for walk-ins when i'm in the area. I did get a bikini wax here and it wasnt that great. Just go for the threading.

I have been to Seema's for eyebrow threading a couple of times now.
For the price it offers, the treading is very good. Seema does a good job but i agree she is abit rushed. Once this other girl (forgot her name!) did my eyebrows and she did an amazing job too. She was pretty patient and thorough.

I would recommend to go elsewhere for waxing. It is painful and a bit messy the way they do it.

Perhaps it's a bit harsh for me to rate this place ONE star, considering I never received any services here, but it was because I walked in, smiled, and waited for 15 MINUTES with no acknowledgement of my presence whatsoever.  WTF?!!!!!!!!!!!  Are you sure you want any business?!!!

If you are looking for a place to get threading, Seema does a great job and is reasonably priced. I've been able to make same day appointments easily and she is very quick and efficient. Only $26 do get your whole face threaded.

I went to Seema yesterday and got a Brazilian bikini wax. I called at lunch and was able to get an appointment for after work the same day. Seema was very nice and professional making me feel comfortable right away. They don't use the blue wax but put the regular wax in a disposable cup so it is only used for you. I don't think it was as painful as the blue wax and Seema was very fast. I am happy with the results.

the first time i came to seema's was because deepa was closed. since then i've stucked here for threading my brows. the enviroment is so much cleaner and alot more organized. the wait has also been shorter too. here the girls do a thorough job. my brows are pretty thin, but somehow they manage to get them looking darker, defined, and super clean! i never have to draw them in. i've always left happy and never had to ask them to reclean any of the strays left behind. they do it right the first time around. for the same price i'd rather be here!
