Service was slow... and forgetful.  I ordered the Grecian pasta (which was pasta, spinach, feta, red onions and olives with a LOT of dried oregano).  It was supposed to have chicken on it - and "the kitchen forgot".

To say it was child friendly is a joke.  Perhaps for older children or if you don't want to worry about your kids making a mess.  There were two high chairs in the place, and no changing areas in the restrooms.  We had a tough time with our 11 month old.

I can't answer for the food here, but they have a decent selection of beers (almost any bar can win me over with Shock Top), an interesting backstory, and from the back deck, one of the best views in Harper's Ferry.   Highly recommended as a place to whet one's whistle during a hard day of touristing.

Disappointing. Really bad, overpriced food. The most unripe tomato in the middle of tomato season.

We went during the John Brown Anniversay. We heard that there was going to be civil war music, which is why we went, but they had a jazz player instead. The service was horrible and slower than molasses in January. The sauce on the pasta was watery and the burger was way overcooked. We paid way to much for what we got!

The burgers are nothing special, but the beer is cold and the view is great.  We liked our server but got the vibe that the owner/manager might be hard to work with/for.

We visited the Secret Six Pub after climbing Maryland Heights to the lookout, and by the time we completed the two hour hike, we were hungry and thirsty.

We visited on a Monday afternoon, and were seated quickly. It appeared that we were one of only a handful of patrons at the time, and our orignal order for drinks and french fries came quickly.

The view is fantastic, overlooking part of the lower town and the B&O railroad depot, where trains still constantly roll. The Secret Six has an great outdoor deck which offers a fantastic view of the same.

The service slowed down a little, and we couldnt figure out why. However, you must try the peach cobbler with ice cream. Delicious.

Overall, a place to stop in after walking around the historic town.

Went to the Secret Six on a super hot, busy Saturday after hiking the Maryland Heights. The service, contrary to most other posts here, was actually quite prompt. The local beers on tap are cheap, and delicious, try the Potomac Ale. Seating out on the back porch is ample and offers nice views of passing trains and climbers on the rocks. I ended up just eating the Greek salad which wasn't bad despite being smothered in feta cheese. All in all, a nice place to pass the hours on a hot afternoon!

She Said..." never coming back to this place. first of all, the only reason we went here was because there wasnt much of a choice after walking around town. there was a couple hole in the wall ice cream shops and a bbq trailor. so we went to the place that looked the best. the food was not good at all, i had the pesto pasta and it was like soup with noodles in it and my bf got the chicken alfredo and it was the same thing...soupy noodles. oh yeah, and last time i checked, french fries didnt come on top of salads, but at this palce thats how it works. I guess they arent the cleanest people. and the people...wow they stare at you the whole time...not the servers the people eating there. its like if u arent from that town you shouldnt be there. the people sitting around us honestly stared at us the whole entire time...i think they were witches. All in all, we should have just tried the hole in the wall ice cream shop."

He Said..."Well while we waited for our food, I checked out the reviews on yelp on my phone..we were scared that the wait was going to be long...not the case. While we were still eating our salads they brought our cup o noodles...I mean pasta. Yea there were two weird girls that were looking at us the whole time..I don't know what that was about. For 50 bucks I'd rather of gone to the ice cream shop that served cheesburgers served by the local middle school students."

Its a sandwhich shop - no more, no less.  I wouldn't think of ordering the pastas.  Both my dad and I got sandwhiches and they were above and beyond your basic ham and cheese.  The ham was thrown ont he griddle adding excellent flavor.  The fries were clearly the frozen variety and the chips and salsa we ordered clearly came from BJ's or Sams.  But if you go in knowing what they have, you won't be disappointed.  The service was prompt and friendly.

Get the cobbler.  yum.

Secret Six is named after the 6 people who privately funded the American abolitionist John Brown.

It's a rustic little restaurant with a great view of the Potomac, a fireplace, lots of black and whites from the 1800's, and a couple of wooden chess sets. They serve traditional american fare, nothing too fancy, but definitely a couple steps  up from that BBQ trailer in the back. The food was so-so.  It's one of the few places in the area that's actually open past sunset.

I'll echo the previous reviewers sentiments of service being pretty darned slow.  We waited at the door for seating for about 15 minutes before the hostess even acknowledged we were standing there.  In the meantime, the family that was waiting before us walked out after someone seated at a table explained that they waited an hour for their food to come.  We didn't wait THAT long, probably because we came in a little later and the customers started to thin out.  The food wasn't bad though, although high priced, as the case with all the restaurants we cased out in Harpers Ferry.  It's definitely a tourist trap.  On a positive note, try out the crab puffs as an appetizer.  They were yummy.

The food is surprisingly modern for being out in a pub in a small town. Roasted salmon with almond flakes on salad.... Good American grub. And after a long day of hiking uphill, it's nice to have a good restaurant, with a view of the hill you just climbed, to rest one's aching legs. The service is slow.

'The service is slow' statement by fellow Yelper Mikkela is the understatement of the year.  I went there the day after Christmas with my parent's, sister and 4 month old.  I think my baby turned 5 months while we were waiting.
I think they underestimated the crowds for the day after Christmas, every table was filled and they had two servers (the sweatpant wearing owner and a bartender/food runner).  All the patrons were very patient, mostly tourists, but we waited an hour for sandwiches!  Here's what I don't understand, if you throw a bowl of chips or pretzels on the table, or take something off of the bill, we would probably be happy.  Or at least acknowledge that it's going to be a wait for food b/c you have one chef in the back.  But, they choose to walk around ignoring the death stares of the patrons like everything is hunky dory and asking if we want more to drink.  I'm about to chew my arm off lady!
The food when it came was fine, but I was so hungry, I'm not sure that I'm entirely objective.
It has a bar and a good selection of beer, nice tavern atmosphere.  Come here for beers, they don't have to make them!
