Love the steak sandwich, spicy and warms you up after hiking on a cold day. I get it almost every time even though I try to tell myself to switch it up.
I also recommend the cookies, fresh baked and delicious.
The star of the show however, is the Hummus Pizza (appetizer) with black mission figs. It is killer! -

My favorite breakfast place in Sedona!
The service is some of the best I have ever experienced. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, very inviting.
The Sedona Sunrise is a delicious cocktail to get the day started right.
I always end up ordering the classic quiche...ham, egg and swiss cheese. It is amazing! They also have a quiche of the day that changes frequently. The Chef's Scramble is also very good.
Go to Secret Garden to have a beautiful breakfast and get the day started right! -

Located near one of the many entrances of Talquepaque Village http://www.yelp.com/bi..., my girlfriends and I were about ready to collapse from too much sun exposure and heat, so we couldn't resist this cute patio cafe with lots of lush greenery in the what otherwise was dry cactus and rock land.
Yep sitting in the patio surrounded by trickling water from the miniature fountains and the lush greenery was truly like basking in a temporary oasis before we braved the road again. We got various sandwiches and ice teas. Pretty standard food, not something so extraordinary that I'm dying to get back to the area again to have again. Service was genuine and courteous.
Most likely just a 3 star, but when you're parched and dying from the heat, this place will be like a godsend! Thus, 3.5 stars from me.Listed in: Phoenix / Sedona

The service here is wonderful. Our waitress (I think her name was Shannon) was so nice and pleasant to talk to. She made some great suggestions for our meal and everything came out very quickly. The restaurant is cute and there is seating both inside and outside. This is the perfect little stop for refreshments while shopping.

We needed a little breakfast spot before our drive home and this place delivered. I had the Quiche Lorraine, which was very nice. My wife had the french toast and enjoyed it. They have only a few items on the breakfast menu. It's probably best to excel at a few dishes than to have a diverse selection of "just OK" items. The indoor seating areas can seem a little cramped, especially if you pick the corner table. Service was prompt, attentive, and friendly.

We made a quick stop into Secret Garden on our road trip through Sedona. The yelp photos immediately grabbed our interest and attention. A relaxing outdoor brunch is exactly what was needed. Then we read some negative Yelp reviews and almost nixed this place. But we still gave it a shot based on the patio pics.
We had a great experience. The staff was really nice and the food was great. Good coffee too. I couldn't find any negatives and I really looked. If you're passing through Sedona I suggest you hit this place. A little hard to find but that explains their name. -

I am giving five stars for excellent service and food. We had a large crowd of 9 with four children and a dog for lunch. They seated us promptly and everyone was so welcoming. It was Thanksgiving weekend, and we loved the turkey salad croissant! It was wonderful. Great patio. They are dog friendly on the patio, too. Prices for lunch range around $11 to $20 an entree. They also carry local beers.

Our order was short and sweet, and so shall our review be:
Cute spot located just inside the entryway at Tlaquepaque. Husband jonesing for a coffee (and not just any ol' coffee, he's somewhat of a "snob" on this matter) before heading back to our lodging. Popped in here about an hour before they were set to close for the day. We were enthusiastically greeted by the manager (owner?). H said, "Ooh, look, lemon bars!" Bought one of those as well along with an iced Kona coffee (only comes in one size, though was plentiful). Sat outside on their patio to take in the gorgeous view.
Coffee- Held its' own on H's standards list. Same for lemon bar.
This'll be a stop for us in Sedona. Thanks. -

The restaurant was highly recommended by an employee of another local business and the couldn't have been more right! My wife and I went and both ordered the hummus pizza. It was great!! A great combination of flavors that filled us up. The service was friendly and quick to take care of us. We are going to be here for a week and will probably stop again!

We arrived at 10:30 and wanted lunch. We ordered coffee and waited for the 11 am lunch to begin. The server was awesome and kept filling up our coffee and checking in with us. 5 stars for her.
She put our order in early and I assumed we would get our food shortly after 11. Our food arrived at 11:40. I noticed other couples who arrived after us were seated and finished their lunch by 11:30. Whatever. Hopefully the food will be awesome like I remembered it from past visits.
I split the garden burger, and it was completely flavorless and forgetful. In fact, it might be one of the least memorable garden burgers I've ever eaten. It was fresh (we think this is why our order took forever-we think they had to actually mix and create them) it was just not good and it fell apart. The corn chowder was just okay as well-little flavor. The only thing my party liked was the caprese panini.
So, awesome patio, awesome waitress, just sub-par food and a long wait. It's too bad, because I remember it being excellent. Maybe I need to go for breakfast. -

What a gem of a restaurant!
I'll get our dissapointment out of the way first... we arrived at 11:07 and breakfast ended at 11. All morning we had been craving the Grand Marnier french toast that my friend had eaten on a previous visit.
Regardless, the staff was great. We were promptly greeted, and sat at a table inside. I thought it looked great outside, and they were very nice about moving us.
The Passion Fruit Iced Tea was delicous. Our waiter was great about refills, and our glasses were never more than 1/3 empty.
He shared all of the daily specials, and made suggestions. My spinach salad was one of the best salads I've ever eaten! Peppered bacon, eggs, avocado, feta, red wine vinaigrette. My friend had a steak sandwich that was seasoned to perfection.
Laid back, casual atmosphere. Not pretentious, and a great value for the price. Staff was friendly, food was clearly prepared with love and thoughtfulness.
I will without a doubt be back every time I visit Sedona. Hopefully next time I'll make it for breakfast! -

We discovered the Secret garden towards the end of our Sedona vacation.
It is seriously good food. Unassuming, fresh and reasonably priced.
The B,L T and A was delicious and came with a wonderful cole slaw. I'm always on the search for a nice cole slaw. Their's has a hint of vinegar, just creamy enough, fresh, with perfect crunch without a bunch of superfluous things to try to make it original or fancy. The hummous dish was perfect, wholesome and nicely balanced. Spinach salad was satisfying. Outdoor seating. Excellent service. We would have eaten all of our meals here if we had discovered it earlier. -
Review from Jamie J.
In the most scenic village in, and around, Sedona, this little cafe holds its own.
I might be biased because I love the movie so much, but the decor and feel of the place is just so soothing. For my afternoon goute, I decided to indulge in a latte and a piece of their bread pudding.
The latte was good! I'd come back for another.
The bread pudding was interesting; not in a bad way. It was just different. It is sort of a block topped with whiskey cream. A little tart on the cream for me and not sweet enough on the pudding. If this was an representation of their other goodies, I would say go ahead and try a couple - you might be surprised.
If you are stopping to shop in Tlaqupaque, you must stop in for du cafe et un goute! Service is friendly and welcoming and their vibe is overindulgent and simplistic at once (possible?).
Not so secret anymore! -

The Secret Garden Cafe is amazing! We went for lunch and could not have enjoyed the experience any more than we did.
The turkey salad croissant had cranberries and was perfectly light. The hummus with pita points was absolutely perfect. They had a new spinach and fresh berry salad with a balsamic reduction and they should really add it to the menu.
To top it off, the lemon bar is perfectly tart and has a great thick texture.
Shannon was our server and she was absolutely delightful. The misters kept it nice and cool and the entire lunch was just a dream! -

We just randomly stumbled upon this place when we needed a breakfast spot in Sedona one morning.
The menu isn't extensive but the french toast my wife got and the basic eggs and potatoes and bacon that I got was really, really good. They have some really, really good choices and it's worth stopping by here for breakfast. -
Review from Kat S.
Every single breakfast item on their menu contained meat. Usually, I have no problem substituting the "side of bacon" for something like potatoes or fruit or avocado. At this place, it seemed to be a pretty big issue. The waitress must have never been asked to substitute the meat before and had no idea what she could offer me, I suggested maybe avocado (as I ordered a brekky burrito). She came back 8 minutes later saying that would cost $1 extra. Seriously?! The burrito was already $11! So I asked her what I could substitute for free. She was still utterly clueless about this, "Uhm...well...maybe tomatoes?" Fine, fine. The burrito came with pico but I was hungry and thought extra tomatoes would be okay. The extra tomatoes were not in the burrito, it was three slices laid out on the side.
Word of advice: anywhere at Tlaquepaque is WAY more expensive than its worth. -

This place has slipped in service and quality from past visits over the last couple of years, My wife and I loved it during past visits. This weekend I ordered the Chef Scramble and the bacon was soggy and undercooked and the eggs were not the same as in the past. New cook perhaps? Believe it or not they ran out of coffee after one cup, The male waiter ignored us for most of the meal,
The patio is still beautiful. -

Really friendly wait-staff here. Eggs and bacon were very good. Coffee from Hawaii was outstanding. I would definitely eat here again. Nice outdoor area, too.

Stopped in the Secret Garden Cafe for some lunch on our way out of town. The staff is very friendly and provided blankets for everyone since it was so cold both inside and out.
I was pleasantly surprised with my salad-it was a very large salad with a lot of different veggies, chicken and fresh organic ingredients.
My mom had the chicken salad sandwich and she said it was the best chicken salad she had ever had--they make their own homemade chicken salad with cranberries---delicious.
If you are in Tlaquepaque I would definitely check out the Secret Garden Cafe.Listed in: Sedona, AZ

Compton, CA
Worst service I've ever experienced.
Food quality is mediocre at best, But when considering the price range I would downgrade it to less than mediocre.
Waited 10-15 minutes after being seated for the server to approach our table. In the meantime--no water, no "Hi, I'll be right with you", no acknowledgment of any sort, nada... When the server finally came to the table she took our order and we never saw her again. Not once. Not a single refill of water or tea. Not a single, "How is everything?", not a single plate cleared. Waited 15-20 minutes for a check that never came. We had to track down the server just to pay.
Owner came by and asked how everything was. We politely expressed disappointment in the service. Owner claimed they "never" get complaints about service, but received several about our server that day and apologized. But she immediately rendered the apology useless by rambling on and on, using an off-put demeanor, with a list of useless, completely BS excuses for the awful service. Which she followed up by asking us to come back and give her restaurant another chance.
But she gave us no reason to come back. Didn't offer a return coupon, didn't discount or comp anything, didn't offer a free dessert, not even a free drink. Not that we expected any. But any of these are common sense practices when you're running a restaurant and provide horrendous service. Instead, we were rewarded with extra charges on our credit card for food we never ordered or received. Which took the server at least another 10 minutes to clear up.
Maybe the owner figured we were tourists, not Phoenix locals who visit Sedona about 12-20 weekends a year, and simply did not care. Bad move. Even if we were tourists, bad move lady--there's this thing called the internet... -

Very good breakfast, excellent ambience. Ate outside in the lush garden where the tables & chairs are kept very clean. They have small 'No cell-phone' cards at each table and they even enforced it when one person decided to make loud calls.
Breakfast was on the pricey side, although my dish was the Economizer and priced very reasonably. I chose it because of its contents, not the price. The food was cooked well and seemed to be quality items. Wait staff was very friendly.
Overall a very enjoyable experience, we would definitely return. -

This was my family's last meal in Sedona before heading home. Very disappointing. Arrived for breakfast mid week--nobody but us, a group of 6 adults. Had to stand at the counter for at least 10 min before the staff standing behind the counter finished their conversation about personal stuff acknowledged we even existed. Once seated, the order was taken promptly but the food came out rather slow and unfortunately not memorable--the only exception being the chocolate cake.
Beautiful locale in Tlaquepaque but there are some serious problems with how the restaurant runs, at least in the morning. -
Review from Joel L.
Odd.
They serve breakfast til 11, so if you show up at 11:15, you get no breakfast. Curious...why would you be willing serve a turkey sandwich for $10 but not a breakfast consisting mainly of eggs for the same price 15 mins after breakfast? Total lack of business sense.
Good, strong coffee though. We went to the brewery for lunch. At least serve breakfast til 11:30 when the brewery opens. Or all day. Hell, you're a CAFE with muffins in the pastry case. You're sending the wrong message. The BLT did look delicious. -

What a great little cafe! The menu did not look too intriguing, but I am so glad we ate here. I think everything is made in house. I had the quiche of the day and my husband had the turkey salad croissant. Both were fantastic. We also loved the setting; we sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful Tlaquepaque shopping center and the people watching. Very good service, too!

We went to see the Festival of Lights in Sedona (at Tlaquepaque) during Christmas last year and happened upon this cute little restaurant. Jared had eaten there once before and although we didn't eat anything, we went in so I could check it out and we had hot apple cider...
I looked at the case full of desserts and assorted muffins as well as the menu and everything looked fresh and delicious! The Secret Garden Cafe offers several breakfast selections but what caught my eye was the salad and sandwich options as well as espresso...
They also have a special menu for the kids - 12 and under.... (not that I have to worry about that anytime soon but I thought it was worth mentioning).
Next time I find myself hungry in Sedona, I'll go back to visit The Secret Garden Cafe at Tlaquepaque for sure!Listed in: Splendid Spots in Sedona

I was in Sedona for the weekend and let Yelp direct me to the Secret Garden Cafe for breakfast. We arrived about 10 minutes before they were to stop serving breakfast and the young gal that greeted us didn't want to seat us as they had had a busy morning and she didn't think we could still get breakfast - but a clearer thinking gal, ended up being our waitress, told her it would be no problem.
We enjoyed a nice hour on their patio, relaxing and enjoying our coffee and a good innovative attempt at breakfast - no 'standard' breakfast fare here. The food was very good (not great), the coffee was great, and the service was excellent. As we were kind of in vacation mode, and in Sedona, I didn't really notice the prices or think they were too high.
I will probably return on another trip, especially if I'm looking to linger over breakfast in a nice setting with someone special.Listed in: Places to avoid starving!

We both had the spinach salad for lunch. It was fresh and delicious. Dining on the shaded patio was delightful. The service was pretty good--maybe a touch slow, but that could be because there was a demanding party of eight also in our section.
It felt a little expensive but about on par with resort pricing. -

While shopping at Tlaquepaque we needed to eat. The Secret Garden Cafe caught our eye with the great outdoor seating! The wonderfully friendly staff greeted us as we came in. Be careful the desserts and muffins at the front door are way too tempting! Both the kids had one!
The family run cafe was refreshing! We enjoyed a very peaceful, breakfast of chocolate muffin, brownie and breakfast burritos. It was a nice addition to our Tlaquepaque shopping experience. -

Phoenix, AZ
The place was quite pretty, and the french toast was quite tasty. Now that the good things are out of the way...
Went for brunch and it was not expensive but it wasn't cheap either. The burrito was blah and not very tasty.
The real problem wasn't the food however, it was the wait staff. Waited 20 minutes after getting seated before we got too frustrated and flagged a waitress down to take our order. The food came out without too much wait and we were glad we flagged a waitress down because as our food was arriving we saw the waitress taking the order of a group of people who had been seated before us. Ordering anything extra (such as ketchup or coffee) involved waiting for a wait staff to appear and then flagging them down to ask for something. There appeared to be five or so wait staff who kept appearing but not actually attending to anyone (just cleaning up plates - this was the only time you could get their attention, with an empty plate that needed clearing) so to get what you needed you just had to flag down whichever wait staff was closest.
When we were done eating, we had to flag someone down for the check and then we immediately put in the card. We waited for 20 minutes or so for someone to take the check before we finally got so fed up with waiting and waiting that we went up and paid at the front. Except they said it was (insert waitress's name)'s table. Which was surprising considering I had no idea who our wait staff was. So there we were waiting for 10 minutes for the waitress to come ring us up. Another person came to the counter and asked if we'd been attended to and we replied that we hadn't that we were still waiting. He began to ring us up and our waitress finally appeared and said "Oh you got it? Great thanks" and disappeared. So she didn't even ring us up at the end, this random bloke did.
Waste of time and very frustrating. But at least the french toast was tasty. -

I would give it 3.8 stars if I could. This is a cute cafe with a laidback, charming ambience. They were still serving breakfast at 10:59am when we arrived, which was nice (the menu said they stop at 11am). The food was just okay (ordered the breakfast burrito, and the croissant sandwich), but their kona coffee (!!!) was divine. (My review would just be 3 stars if not for their coffee.) The wait staff were very friendly and attentive. I guess it was a little on the pricey side for breakfast (~$25-30 for our breakfast items and 2 endless-refill coffees), but like someone said earlier, it's Sedona...
Yumm.. I'm still thinking about their coffee... -
Review from Steve M.
Valencia, CA
We came here in the afternoon and found that at 4:15 they were closed for lunch but were still open for afternoon coffee and dessert.
The garden ambience was very peaceful and tranquil. In the back they literally have a "secret garden" with a nice water feature. It was a great place for coffee and dessert. I had raspberry cake and it was overwhelmingly rich and smooth. According to the owner it was an award winning dessert and it certainly didn't disappoint. The Oreo cake was good if you are a chocolate lover. The lattes were good but a little on the lukewarm side.
So why the 3 stars. The price. For three people for coffee (2 lattes and a soda) and dessert it cost us $40. A little steep. Otherwise if the price was less it would have had more stars.
Quaint in a pretentiously expensive sort of way. -

Portabello mushroom sandwich was excellent. Coleslaw was excellent.
Veggie sandwich looked promising based on the menu description but had way too much pepperjack cheese. Every other flavor of the sandwich was overpowered by the cheese. If you order it, ask them to dial back the cheese and it will probably be much improved. -

Cute little cafe. Outdoor seating was alright to start with until the patio misters came on. Kept blowing in our face not very impressive. Food was alright. Coffee wasn't all that great.
The animals come right up to you for food. This little birdy came to us and the people around us for food. -

Ordered the croissant sandwich and the world famous Candace's Deep Dish Quiche. Both dishes were great and the morning's breakfast was quaint and cozy.
The service is a little on the slow side, but when you're surrounded by beautiful scenery with a cool breeze, you don't really mind too much! -

Before setting off to explore the shops in Sedona and go on a hike, we stopped by this cute cafe for lunch. We sat out back in the patio/garden area, which was very quaint. Most chairs offered blankets to keep yourself warm with, which I thought was a great idea. I'm always cold, so it was perfect with my hot tea. All of my friends ordered sandwiches, and everyone was pleased, but what makes this place four stars is the appetizer we started with. We ordered the hummus pizza which was topped with hummus, black mission figs, roasted red peppers, caramelized onions & feta cheese. Now I know hummus doesn't sound so exciting, however, all of these flavors together were amazing. My friends all agreed it was "heaven in our mouth." We almost went back for round two. Order it. It's excellent.

We liked it! We liked it!
On our first ever trip to Sedona today we ate at Secret Garden. The Portobella Mushroom sandwich and Gorgonzola Cole Slaw were excellent. Yes, pricey, but it's Sedona for gosh sakes. Relax and enjoy it. -

Stopped here with my family this past weekend. I ordered a veggie burger (which turned to be homemade and super delicious!), my husband got a portabello sandwich (he loved it) and the grandparents both got rueben sandwiches. Granddad counted 14 pieces of meat in his and they both gave good reviews.
It was kind of chilly and they had mexican blankets at every table outside so the chill wouldn't affect us. What a nice touch!
The service was kind of slow, which is why I only gave this 4 stars. It seems like we had to wait around forever to get our cheque. -
Review from Ali P.
The morning after our long drive to Sedona I was in the mood for something hearty that would last several hours. After all, who comes to Sedona and doesn't hike? We read about this place and decided to pop inside for a look.
Location-wise, the Secret Garden Cafe is in a nice shopping center in a good part of town that's close to many other stores and sights. Menu-wise, it is a bit expensive, but the service more than made up for the prices. While most of their menu items are over $10, they do have an "Economizer" breakfast for only $5 that comes with two eggs, toast, bacon, and fruit, which is actually a lot of food for that price! My friend had his with scrambled eggs, and mine over medium. We were both very satisfied and wouldn't mind returning in the future. I would love to try their other foods, but with such a great $5 deal, I'll most probably stick with my original choice. -

This was our first visit. The place is beautiful and inviting. The food was scrumptious and the pricing acceptable. The service was inattentive, slow, forgetful and unfriendly and there were very few patrons. Tables were left to be cleaned for 15 minutes or more and it's a small facility. Service does not live up to the surroundings. Very disappointing!

Definitely worth checking out. I've read what all the yelpers before me had to say and the common negative response was price. Get over it. It's worth it for all these other factors:
Service: Excellent = Everyone there was extremely attentive
Food: Chicken Cobb Salad & Chicken Salad with Grapes on a Toasted Croissant = YUM
Ambiance: Garden Setting = Normally its more beautiful but Sedona just flooded the week before so the garden area is wrecked right now
