Resident Bostonian Rebecca Gordon's Second Gallery is something new and exciting to the Boston art scene. Housed in Southie's artist community/workspace epicenter The Distillery, Second Gallery is sure to be the contemporary arts space in the city that it strives to be - going beyond the aims of many galleries driven primarily by profit margins and consumer demand - Second Gallery sets itself up as a space that "engages new approaches to subject matter and media ..... underrepresented in commercial galleries...."

In an era driven by the commercialization of the artist and increasing attention to a business focused model rather than the display of inspirational and challenging art, Second Gallery is making a triumphant stand to re-focus Boston's arts community on the work itself and its message to those paying attention.
