As a volunteer on the security crew for the last two years, I must say this is a great event.
Mind you the 2010 show I felt was far better than 2009 in that the art was more focused around a theme rather than a sporrhadic conglomerate of "WTF?!?!?!" kink. Not to mention, I liked the layout in that you weren't assaulted by the more graphic images upon IMMEDIATELY stepping into the venue (the button adorned walls in the entry were ingenious).
The performance art was incredible (my favourite was the trapeeze artist).
And the interactive painting with artist Nancy Peach was kickin' (did some painting on it myself on Thursday)
The drawbacks of this year however were:
The adjustments to the camera policy (why have posters EVERYWHERE saying no photos at all and yet allow people to take photos with their phones...contradictory to say the least)
The lack of enough seating (despite there being several FABULOUS beds strewn throughout).
As with any festival however, there is always room to improve and well if it was a "perfect" festival, that would take so much of the fun out of it.
Kudos to Allena G. and the CSPC/FSPC for such a wonderful event (glitches and all), without this event I would not have half the KICK ASS art on my walls that I do. ;) -

2010.... I wait every year for SEAF with bated breath and a feeling of anticipation... I was totally let down this year. Instead of the usual debaucherous evening surrounded by fabulous art and even better people watching I was subjected to 3 hours of burlesque done to very dark loud classical music and strange performance art ranging from puppets to boylesque. Now I like all these things but put together it was a bit much, the major problem with this was that they had very few chairs to sit on to watch the show and instead of leaving dimmed lighting on the art most of the lights were completely shut off. People were walking around with flashlights and opened cell phones to view the art while the show was going on.
I was really disappointed in it overall. The art itself was pretty good but it was very limited to mostly paintings and photographs, very little to sculpture and even fewer mixed media pieces. At about 11:30 we had enough and jetted, I was overwhelmingly disappointed. I will go again next year but if they still don't have the dance floor or more seating or a better setup it will be the last year.Listed in: The Naughty Bits

Hey, this thing was fun!
Even if we went on the Sunday, which is the free, low-rent version of the other two days, The Seattle Erotic Art Festival had a lot of stuff to look at.
So many weiners! oh my.
Plus, it inspired a lot of hot making out between me and my lady.

This was my first year to attend. I was amazed. You can hear about it .. ..the name may evoke ideas.. then you read about it. A juried art show and a literary contest. Acts: pole dancing, dancing, aerialists!!!!, an after hours party..
Quiet days with lots of time to view art and purchase items from an upscale store.
Night time things change.. crowds arrive dressed in many erotic costumes.. tasteful. Some more erotic than others. All with creative expression of an area of eroticism or sexual expression. -

I can't wait for this, personally!
This will be the biggest and best year yet for the Festival. A massive amount of interesting art, four hours each night of live performances, and a kick-ass afterparty each night that goes to 4:00 am.
For $20 (advance) or $25 (door) for all of the above, it's hard to beat this kind of value for your entertainment dollar.
Plus, the Festival offers the best people watching of the year. Seriously.

If you're tired of what's available in Seattle's galleries, I recommend checking out some of the awesome and affordable art at the Seattle Erotic Art Festival. I've been to every one, except one, since it started in 2002 and I've always found something worth looking at.

I can't fairly rate this, as I've never been. I'm intrigued enough to give it three stars.....BUT have to take off two because of the back-to-back years that featured edible bread and drinkable beer made from an artist's vaginal yeast. Yes, that's what I just said.
