I was staying with a frind about an hour form Long beach and the next day I was running the Marathon in Long Beach, so we decided to go there and get a hotel for the night so on the race day I donot have to drive an hour.
We reserved two rooms and got there around 6PM the rooms were clean and smelled good when we walked in. The front desk people also were friendly.
We did not have any hot water and decide to check out at 5AM before the race the next day and drive back to the my friends house after the race for shower.
The plan was to shower at the hotel and eat before leaving LB.
It was kind of Spookey area and could not help myself but to keep looking behind me and make sure no one is going to put a gun to my head.
The hotel is good if you are staying for just one night. I donot think I will be staying there again unless i am forced due my own poor planning.

We stayed overnight because we were at the club that's connected to the hotel. Not a whole lot to say about this place. Its a hotel. Nothing special. I had a friend who gave us a discount on the room.

We slept. We showered. We left.

Three stars means average, right. I don't really like the "A-OK" description that YELP gives with the three star rating. A-OK makes it sound as if I liked this place...I wouldn't go that far. I would be willing to stay here again, if the price was right. I felt the need to elaborate...forgive me :)

WARNING: Do not eat at the restaurant in the hotel. Go anywhere else.

You're welcome.

If you don't mind, "antenna" TV (I hear it's a throwback fad), and potholes in the parking lot, that you really only need a roof, decent air conditioning, parking lot accessibility, and you're only staying one night - it works in a pinch.

If you don't expect much, and only ask for a decent shower and a bed, this is for you.  It's a simple place.

I stay here at least once a year because it's next to Marine Stadium (because of the annual Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival) and it's diagonal from In-N-Out.  Mind you, during the festival, this place is bustling.

I want to say, you get what you pay for, but I hold back and say it with a grin.  Bring a roommate.  Why I don't go elsewhere is beyond me, but for the reasons above, I always come back.  Call me a creature of habit?

Then again, when I stay, I'm here with friends and other dragon boat teammates of mine - which makes the stay that much more interesting and fun times.

We took this trip to garden grove, It smelled like lou-dog inside the van, oh yeah, This aint no funky reggae party, $5 at the door...except that it was $14 last night for the So Cal Rocks Music Fest, which was exactly $9 too much for the lineup of high school bands that were playing. So, instead of heading east for Garden Grove, we went to a place that could only be described as one of those tacky 60's motels that tried to keep up with the times but found out it ran out of money sometime in 1988. The "club" was laughable, the bands inconsistent, the LA gang element was in full effect, and generally I wouldn't have gone had not the only band I went to see not been playing, namely THE PLAYERS TOUCH, who you can listen to on MySpace I think.

I stayed there about 2 years ago while attending a conference in Long Beach on International Relations. Someone booked this hotel for me... and when we arrived, we found that the hotel was hosting some transvestite convention. (I swear to God) Without going in to all the details, someone set up a taco stand on the back of my buddies Honda, some woman in drag asked us if we wanted to shoot up when we went to get ice, and I saw a guy in full S&M attire strolling the halls around 2am.

You can't make this stuff up. The weirdness was a pleasant distraction from the horrible decor, 25 year old TV, and everything else you would expect in a 1 star motel. You'd be better off sleeping in your car than paying for a room in this hotel. The only way you would EVER want to stay here is if you come in from out of town to party at Sachi, the club located surprisingly in the back of the hotel.

Claims to a "new renovation" were completely unsubstantiated; everywhere we looked, my roommate and I found peeling paint and dirty tile.  On the night we stayed, the entire hotel was without hot water (after suffering through a shower which was lukewarm at best, I mentioned it to my teammates staying in other rooms and found that their experiences corroborated my own complaints).  A woman at the front desk assured me that the water would warm up after "just a few minutes" of letting it run, but this never happened.  Beds were unusually short.  I'm not a tall girl (5'4"), but whenever I happened to uncurl from fetal position during the night, my feet were hanging off the bed's edge.

The furniture was clean enough, and our wake up call prompt, but that's the extent of my praise for this place.  I would not return for a second visit.

Despite the fancy name, this two-story property - which caters to families and groups - falls squarely into the motel category, and not quite as nicely as some of the national discount chains do. When I stayed here, the place seemed eerily deserted, as if it was on the verge of demolition and no one had thought to advise the front desk staff that guest registration had come to an end. The public spaces and hallways reverberated with the unsettling sounds of silence. Although the room was clean, its decor was cheerless and everything was worn around the edges, and there were few guest amenities, not even the coffee maker that has become standard equipment in even third-class dives. Water pressure was weak, and the noise made by the air-conditioning unit embedded in the wall suggested it was working better than it did. It was conveniently located for my needs during a two-night stay, but I hardly would recommend it to anyone for a week-long vacation. Current rates start at $107 per night, more than the place is worth.
