I've stayed at Seabird Lodge about four times now and this place certainly beat other inns in the area. Here are just some of the things I found great about this place:

- The front desk people were knowledable and always willing to help.
- The rooms were clean
- There was a microwave and mini fridge
- The place is centrally located in Fort Bragg. One mile from downtown area and about 5 miles from Mendacino
- Has a pool and hot tub
- Allows dogs
- Fairly price with AAA card

My husband and I just stayed here for the first time on 9/10 and 9/11.  Since I'm a stickler for customer service, I have to give them 5 stars.  The gentleman behind the check-in desk was not only helpful, but genuinely cheerful.  Just talking to him made me happier!  Yes, the building is a little out-dated, but it is VERY well maintained.  The pool and hot tub are great.  A HUGE plus for us is that they are not just dog-friendly, they seem to really love dogs, and have pictures of prior customers' dogs on their bulletin board & in 2 large binders in the lobby.  They have LOTS of menus for many local restaurants, and are more than happy to answer questions and just be generally pleasant.  Maybe a little pricey, but in this day & age where customer service is usually delivered with a grunt and a glance at the floor, it was well worth it.

Well they are pet friendly which is hard to find these days. They are a friendly staff and helpful mostly. The one thing I do fault them for is giving a room to a bunch of 20 somethings and letting them have party in the room next to ours. After attempting to call the manager and not getting an answer at 10pm,  I had to call the police and make a complaint. I hate being the bad guy, but sleep is sleep.

The Seabird Lodge is one of many hotels/motels along Highway 1 in Fort Bragg.  This is a kid friendly and pet friendly hotel.  In terms of quality, I'd say it's a 3 Star motel.  But it is a very good 3 Star motel.

Pros:
Indoor Heated Pool and Jacuzzi.  The coast is often cool.  Being indoors let's the kids swim.  The pool is kept at a very comfortable temperature.

They let pets stay there, if you have them.

The rooms are clean, nicely decorated and come with a mini-fridge.  Everything in the room was in nice shape and in good repair.  We stayed 2 nights and everything was quiet during our stay

The staff was helpful and was happy to recommend places to go to us, and tell us how to get places.

Free wi-fi in the room.

Well located, just a mile or so from the Skunk Train and with 4 restaurants within a block, Perkos, Homestyle Cafe, New Buffet and Round Table Pizza..

Cons:
Beds were very firm.

We paid $126 per night in August with a AAA discount.

Bottom line, next time I am staying in Fort Bragg, this will be where I stay.

This hotel was okay. It had a mini fridge, WIFI, and cable tv. The front desk people were nice and recommended some place to eat. The rooms were clean. Right off of Hwy 1 so it was easy access. It's a good overnighter place to stay.

The only plus was that they allow dogs (for a fee.) Otherwise, it's just a standard roadside motel. It's on highway 1, but you can't see the ocean from there. The room was large, clean, and empty. We only stayed here because it's all we could find on short notice. I think the price could have been lower. The lady that handled my call on the phone up-sold me to the King room, raising the price by $35 for no extra benefit.
