HOSTEL - Sea Star - U (unaffiliated) (not part of Hostelling Intl.)

I'm a frequent hosteler, and The Sea Star Hostel was one of my Oregon coastal favorites.  My favorite room had a loft spot to sleep, and was private with a great view of the harbor.  Kitchen and lounge areas were clean and I met some nice hostelers too.   If you enjoy hosteling, this is a good one to visit.  They also rent full guesthouse rooms, separately, with views, but I have only stayed at the hostel.

Hosteling is very different from hotelling, and it is NOT for everyone, so I would rate this 3 or 4 stars for a hostel, but if you compare it to a regular hotel, i have no idea.  Hostels are not camping, not bed and breakfasts, but nor are they hotels or motels, so I have no idea really how to rate them, except  hostel to hostel.  Hosteling is affordable, social and educational.  Someday I'd love to own a hostel.
