This Inn was recommended by Gisele P. who obviously has great taste! The rooms a little pricey at $400 a night. Work hard, play hard right?

Soft bed, indoor spa, LCD TV. and a fantastic view. Can't wait to try out the surfing, hopefully it doesn't disappoint!

+1 Gisele

There are tons of crappy hotels in Santa Cruz, I would say 98% of them. lol. Really! This place has the best view of the beach, the wharf, and the boardwalk!!! In their patio with a million dollar view, you can watch people on the beach, drink beer, and enjoy the coziness of this inn. A bit pricey in the summer but worth it on special occasions. Winter has a much better deal. But overall I highly recommend this place, biatches

The first time my then boyfriend/now husband went away for the weekend we stayed at the Sea & Sand Inn in Santa Cruz.  It was perfect.  We were in that infatuation-falling in love stage so perhaps anywhere would have been a great place to stay...but I highly recommend staying here next time you want a romantic weekend away.

We stayed in a huge room with a jacuzzi, and although it wasn't cheap, the place was totally worth it.  It's an adorable yellow place up on the cliffs, with a gorgeous lawn area with chairs for checking out the view and relaxing.  There was a wine & cheese hour in the lobby in the early evening (as every good inn should have!) and the guy who worked there was really nice and welcoming.

There's a real mom and pop vibe to this place, and it was so much cuter than the big boring hotel next door.  Also, it right next to the dock and the Boardwalk.  Downtown was a bit of a trek but by no means a journey.

Go fall in love here.  I can't wait to go back!

We have been going to the Sea & Sand for 15 years.  It is a very small motel, perched on the cliff, overlooking the beach, the Boardwalk, and the wharf.  The outdoor areas are quite lovely, lots of nice seating.  There is a commons room that can be used any time of the day, but is quite busy for breakfast where fresh muffins and fruit is served with hot coffee or tea.

The rooms are very, very small.  There is hardly room to turn around in some of the rooms.  The furniture is too big for the rooms. Bathrooms are very small, with showers, not tubs, one person at a time.

The overall experience has always been nice, and I love being able to walk to the wharf and Boardwalk from the motel.  Be sure to plan to stay more than one night on weekends.

I wasn't expecting much after driving by and seeing it from the street.  Fortunately, I was totally wrong.  Our room was nice, even if a little tight. The room seemed a little worn but was still in decent shape and clean. We could hear the neighbor's TV but couldn't tell if it was because of thin walls or if they just really had it cranked up.
The view was incredible. We were on the 2nd floor and could see the boardwalk, the beach, the wharf, and plenty of surfers.  The sound of the ocean lulled us to sleep.
We took advantage of the continental breakfast while sitting out in the garden. That was very peaceful.  Because of the view and the extras I would have expected this to be much more expensive than it was.

My boyfriend and I went here last year for our 4 year anniversary. we wanted some place close the beach... We called in and got our reservation just a little late so we didn't have our choice of rooms. But, we still had our room right above the ocean where we could overlook the boardwalk and obviously the ocean ALL NIGHT. I loved it...

I will for sure be going back to this place and next time I am going to try out the room with the private jacuzzi on deck. Will update! :)

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and it was off the hook!!  We aren't rich folk and this seemed over the top!!  Even some of my clients have heard about it and said it was amazing... and that is what got me excited!!!  'Cause really.. boys usually know nothing about this kinda thing.  Our view was impeccable!!  The ocean and sand and sound of the waves!!  So romantic, and special.  The room wasn't 5 stars but it had everything we needed.  Their happy hour was great!!  Simple cheeses paired with crackers and a Chardonnay and Merlot ... very cool!!  And there is several patios you can go and sit at and watch the beach dwellers and waves and the awe evoking sunset!!!  Just breath taking!!  One evening I took some Champagne out there and watched 2 dudes play with their boomerang.  haha... They also have a complimentary continental breakfast.... not too shabby!!  We have been to some B&Bs and this was the better of breakfasts.  OJ, hot choc, coffee, tea, muffins,  bagels with cream cheese, fruit, toast etc... basic but perfect.  And the service!!  WOW!!  The young man who helped us was sooo chivalrous, funny, helpful, charming... just wonderful!  He made our weekend just that much better with his sense of humor, smiles and effortless successes in assisting us.
We are definitely coming back, staying for longer and taking "his"  advice and booking a suite.

somehow, having a hot tub in our room did not make it completely cheesy and trashy like i had imagined. the room was huge and the water pressure in the shower still lingers in my dreams. parking was easy, and the guy at the front desk was really nice. (oh, if you plan on ordering pizza--or any kind of food for that matter--make sure to call the front desk for suggestions. my hubby and i made the mistake of just calling domino's and then got scolded for not asking for help.) you can hear seals from your room, which can be really awesome or completely annoying depending on your love (or lack thereof) for marine mammals and barking sounds. i thought it was awesome.

the description and pictures of the hotel make it seem like it's really secluded and tucked away somewhere on a remote cliff; it is not. it is on a pretty major street and next to a much larger hotel. despite that, when on hotel grounds, you do feel rather tucked away.

what about the hot tub, you ask? well, it was tucked away in the corner of the room and looked like a huge bath tub on a platform with mirrored walls---i know, right? CLASSY. it was actually really nice until we found out that "cleaning mode" basically meant: air dry mode. yeah, the hot tub doesn't fill up with water and run a thorough self-clean cycle like we thought, instead, it just kind of blows air around. i'm hoping that the hotel cleaning staff cleans those tubs. but bring some bleach with you just to be safe.

my fiancee took me here for our 2 year anniversary and we were very pleased with the room, the amneties and especially the outdoor jacuzzi. the weather was perfect and the view overlooked the ocean, the beachfront and the boardwalk! we booked the executive suite and it had everything..even a mini kitchen!
