THE GOOD:
The Beer Sampler
THE BAD:
Its too far away for frequent visits
THE LOWDOWN:
My first time here, I got the sampler and really enjoyed it due to getting quite a bit of beer for relatively cheap. The food is standard greasy fried food. Got the fish and chips, they were really good. The beer I enjoyed the most was the Imperial Pale Ale and the Triple, called triple 777. They have a really neat looking growler, but it is $35. But they have standard looking growlers too. I had god service and the beer was fresh and for the most part most of them were well balanced, and good.
If you go to Silvertip games, this place would be good to go to before the game, it is a little bit of a drive back to the arena.
Will be back for sure
This place does not even deserve one star!!
I should have known not to go into a "family friendly" pub, but we were on the waterfront after doing the Float Find on Jetty Island and wandering the art show by Scuttlebutt. The "family" part wasn't so bad, just wanted to sit in a pub though. We were seated near the bar counter (no bar to sit at) and almost had to beg to get a waitress. When we finally grabbed one (brunette) we orderd the Amber Ale. It was the only good thing we had. Placed an order for nachos. When they were delivered, the waitress told us to be careful because the plate was really hot. It was but the nachos were cold. I had to go find the waitress to tell her. She wasn't happy with me, grabbed them and I am sure just threw them under the broiler because now they really were disgusting. Never broil cheese twice! The waitress did not once come to see how the food was or if we wanted another beer.
All of the dirty glasses were stacked on the bar by us. Must have been at least 100 and the counter was not that big! The staff started stacking the dirty glasses because there was no place else to put them. An older woman came in to start loading the dishwasher. I told her if the Health Department saw all those dirty glasses, they would have been shut down. She apparently told the owner/manager because my friend said he kept glaring at me.
When we could not even get our tab, my friend grabbed another waitress (blonde) and explained how horrible everything had been. She was really nice and said everything was on the house. That made us happy, thanked her and we left.
We were about a 1/2 block away when the man who had been glaring at me came running, yelling at us that we had just eaten and run. Say what? Told him everything happened and he said to go f--- ourselves! Say what again? People around us could not believe what was happening. He continued yelling at us as he went back in a back door to the pub and flipped us off with both hands before slamming the door. Obviously the blonde had not told him what happened and the brunette decided to pay attention when we left instead of when we were her customers.
I will NEVER go to Scuttlebutt again! Of course, cranky guy did say we were never allowed in there again anyway. HAHAHA! Not a problem jerk guy!
Gee, Phil, nice of you to pay attention. So we sat for 6 minutes hoping to order a beer. That is not a huge deal. Where we sat was not packed or as busy as you indicate. There were plenty of empty tables.
We were not rude, your waitress (brunette) was. How dare her serve us cold nachos! She not once came to see how we were doing (check your tapes). My friend asked the other waitress (blonde) to come to our table. She was very nice. My friend explained all that had happened and she said it was "on the house". That was not our goal, we just wanted the other waitress to know she needed to pay attention to her customers. We would have ordered another beer as they were good if she had taken the time and just forgotten about the nachos. And you went way beyond rude when you flew out of the bar to yell at us without clarifying things with your staff. The people around us outside decided they would never go to your place after the scene you created.
I went to find this place and drove pased it a couple of times. I went there with a friend that knew exactly where it was. The place was very busy and kinda small. The beers are pretty good. I loves to get a sampler of the beers and this one takes the cake. The sampler has like 10 beers and you are pretty fuzzy when you are done. 2 of them and I love everything. The nachos were great too. There is no doubt I will bee stumbling out of here again in the near future
(((((hick*up))))))
Have eaten here many times over the years. My husband is a fan of the fish and chips, I on the other hand enjoy the prawns and chips. The food is always good, the staff friendly. Given that there are only a handful of places to eat on the Everett Waterfront, this is a good bet.
How to rate this place...
Well their beer first. Their Porter is awesome! Their Black Pilsner is really good. Everything else, don't bother... its pretty meh. Nothing stands out - at least not for being good.
What I did like about this place was the $8 beer sampler. $8! For 8 beers, all 6oz size, but CHEAP! Great way to sample their variety, of course... its not the best beer ever... so...?
We decided not to eat here afterall for 2 reasons. 1) It smelled a little funny inside... not fresh and clean smelling, thats for sure! and 2) the cook came out of the kitchen area a few times and looked downright dirty and unclean... VERY UNAPPETIZING!!!
Try the Porter, but do it elsewhere!
Great food! Fish and Chips is the best thing on the menu. They also have Jalapeno bottle caps that are simply amazing. Bugers are the normal variety. Wasn't too impressed with them or the Philly Cheesesteak. Everything else is great. Service is fast.
Birthday Bash. well maybe not a a real bash but hey it was my dad's birthday and he just wanted something simple. So as we ventured out and came across this place what can be more simple that fish and beer,. Ordered tow of the seasonal beers (dark of course) rate just about 8%. I was really surprised the beer was really good. So we both ordered the fish and shrimp and again very pleasantly surprised. The fish was very good and the batter was just the way I like it. Crunchy but not to thick the bad was the batter for the shrimp to much breading but the shrimp was good. I would suggest to them to use the same batter for the shrimp as the they use for the fish. As for the staff they were friendly and the atmosphere was good. Prices are fair so you really can't go wrong. I think I will try their burgers next time I'm visiting the area. I do have to say I agree with another reviewer on the growlers ,really cool just had a hard time paying 35. for it. If you are near by it is worth a try.
5 Stars for the name alone!
I hate soda, but the root beer is a must!!!
Hummus platter and brew city onion rings :) :P :D !!!
A great atmosphere, laid back vibe. Close to the Marina/Naval base. Dang it, I miss WA :(.
This place is the bomb diggity!
The beer and food are great!
Good beer. Good fish and chips, but not Great. I was on vacation. Had a couple brews and grabbed a T-shirt. It was our going back home on the way to the airport beer and grub, so maybe the mood was solemn. But, I'm never too solemn to know good beer.
I almost gave them a 4 star just for the name but I honestly was a little disappointed. I thought they were a little over priced simply because of the lack of view. I realize the train tracks are right across the street but when you go to a restaurant on the water you don't expect to be hearing the clankety clank of train wheels. Even the seagulls were quiet or if they weren't you couldn't hear them. I ended up with the fish and chips which they boast is their most popular at 7.95. I do like their beer though and chose the Homeport Blonde - beer that is. Maybe I should have gone on Wednesday when it is "Wacky Wednesday" and you get 10% off your entire bill or "Thirsty Thursday" where a 12 ounce draft is $1.00. Go to their website and they have a dollar off coupon you can print off. It's a local brewery I'd give it a try if you're hungry for fish and chips or a burger.
Great place for lunch. The fish and chips is great. Very friendly service, but unfortunately I'm not a huge fan of their beers. They're OK, but I'm spoiled living in OR.
I had the fish and chips and home made root beer. The cod chips were not greasy and the meat was flakey. The coating was a little overdone, but definitely above average. The tartar was somewhat bland, heavy on the dill. The root beer I think was the star, very crisp and refreshing, out of a freshly tapped keg!
If you're a beer drinker then you will also enjoy this place and their variety of home made brews.
I've been here lots of times. It isn't a fancy place but the food is good. I'd stick with the fish and chips and fried seafood, the chowder (it is really excellent), the root beer (make sure to ask for it without ice), and most of all, the cheddar bacon fries. They are worth the trip if you are looking for great bar food!
The beer is great too. I prefer the red and brown ales to the lagers and stouts. The selection varies seasonally.
No the view isn't of the water, but you'll have a good look at creative train graffiti! If you want a water view, you'll pay more. This is a working class place and worth a stop.
I love having lunch at this place, the chili and chowder is hearty and tasty, and of couse you have a great selection of brews to choose from.
It's right next to the naval base so you get a lot of those guys in there for lunch, some older folks, some with kids, and there are games for them to play with!
It's a family owned place so the atmosphere in there is like a family, people saying hi to people as they come in.
The dining area is small, but adequate for lunch crowds. I haven't been there for dinner, or past 1:30 for that matter.
They sell growlers and kegs out of their brewery in back, and I believe they bottle as well. (Growlers are a half-gallon refillable glass bottle, available for purchase, or bring your own!)
There's plenty of free parking, right along West Marine View drive on the west side of Everett.
Is it worth comming from Seattle? I don't think so. But if you're in Everett for lunch, you won't be dissapointed!

After years of driving by I finally stopped. I had a great Reuban. It was a bit different but the menu warns you. The meat was cut a bit thicker and if it was on rye it was a very very light rye.
The best part was the Root Beer, Yummmm and free refills. I can't coment on the beer since I really don't drink, but go Root Beer.
Food: Gross! I thought I was ordering a delicious chicken salad, and what came out was lettuce and cold turkey on the side that they forgot. Other items include regular fried bar food.
Beer: Actually never had it, so I can't tell you.
Ambiance: Dingy inside with poorly set up tables and not very cool or relaxing. I know they play music some night, because it is so loud I can hear it from my house up on the bluff.
Insiders tip: My friend worked there in high school and hated the owners. They wouldn't even give him free food to eat while at work, so he had to sneak food in the bathroom.
The Wait staff is fun, the food is good, and thier brews are the best around. I have lunch here every chance I get.
I have enjoyed every single meal I have had there. Although it is small, BUT expanding now, the food is very much worth the price, clam-chowder is perfect, root beer, fish/chips, etc....Over time, not a single visit there has been anything but perfect. It is a nice choice for a family, or couple....or solo! I do not drink beer there usually when I go, but their beer is on-par with local Puget Sound micros!
We went beer sampling to pick a keg for my friends wedding and since I have had this beer before we went to sample what they had to offer. The restaurant is a not too comfortable storefront to the brewery and they don't really have a bar to sit at. They had a large variety of beer on tap and in bottles to sample and it was all very good. The food seemed to be normal bar type stuff except for the KC fries named for Kimberly Clark down the street. I had the fish and chips which was above average. Directly accross the street is a train yard with trains banging off each other every couple minutes which is a bit distracting. We did order a keg and got a growler to go.
Good pub food and good beer in an unpretentious setting. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is friendly.
I decided to take Pops out to lunch for father's day. He lives way up north and I'm in Seattle, so we settled on Everett. Not knowing Everett at all, I turned to Yelp for dining suggestions. Scuttlebutt Brewery sounded like just the right place. It is reasonably priced, has good reviews and is on the water. I was surprised to find more of a warehouse/brewing area with a restaurant literally tacked on the side, facing away from the water. It was quite a bit more homey and casual than I had anticipated. It was also fairly small. My dad's girlfriend and my boyfriend joined us, so we had a variety of things. We ordered 3 different types of beer, 2 were good, the third, not so much. I had a turkey sandwich, it was tasty, but I wish the hoagie would have been toasted or fresher. My dining companions had fish and chips which got rave reviews, a burger, which was pretty good and a BBQ pork sandwich, which was said to be yummy. Service was fast and friendly. Prices are inexpensive; most things are under $10. I was bummed that they were right on the water, yet our view was the train tracks. Plenty of parking.
Great fish and chips, prawns and chips and sandwiches. The beer and rootbeer is delicious. It's small and comfortable.
