Love the gals at a Work of Heart! Andrea and Christina are a class act. The store was smaller before with a much more limited stock, but now with all of the space and the new stock, it is even better. I stop by every once in awhile just to check out the latest and greatest products. Gotta protect your wallet when you are there though, cuz there are so many things you have to have. I brought a friend there the other day and she loaded up with almost $100 worth of goodies... :)
If you are looking for a place to get awesome scrapbooking supplies in San Jose, this is your place! The work area is cool, but I have not had a lot of time to spend there. You can use their tools and workshop space for a small fee or take classes I think. The cool thing is that you can try techniques and new products in the work area.
I've recently taken up scrapbooking and I am on a quest to find all the local scrapbooking shops cause I like a variety.
My friend found this store online last nite, so we decided to check it out today. Its kinda small, but boy do they have a great selection of stuff!! I love love LOVE skulls and pirates and they had a nice assortment of papers, rub-ons, embelleshments, etc.
I also found the outer space themed stuff I was looking for, which I hadn't found at 3 other stores. Oooh and they even had the Autism stamp set that I could only find online. Saved me $7 shipping!! cha-ching Altho I did end up spending that $7 and then some. =) I also found some GREAT deals in the bargain bins.
Andrea who assisted me was SO patient with all my "newbie" questions, and very helpful as well.
They offer several classes, craft raves, art classes for kids, etc. as well as a frequent buyer program where you can earn dollars back w/your purchases.
If you love scrapbooking, check out this store in Willow Glen!

Nice selection of embellishments. Just an "okay" selection of papers. I'm a paper freak - can't have enough, but I couldn't find any here that I had to have. It's a pretty small store, but they do have a bit in it. I think I'd really enjoy cropping at the store - seems like a fun environment. The staff was very friendly - I got the impression they would have been more than happy to help and/or give advice if you needed it. I just wish they had more products in the store.
Grand opening is on August 26, 2007, 10am - noon!
It's a small shop that has the potential to really put out some neat things you won't find at Michaels. They've just moved and are in the process of getting a lot more inventory.
Like I said, it's kind of small with a large table in the back, but it might work if they have classes one at a time. Craft classes are available like knitting, beads, scrapping, and card making.

I am so happy this little gem of a store has moved into my neighborhood. I have met both the owners (Andrea and Christina) and they are very friendly and helpful. I have already made a few projects using products I purchased from the store, and I can't wait to go back!

I enjoy the women who work at the store, and I am hoping to one day use the studio with my daughter. She was admiring it today and liked all the stuff available. There's a little bit of everything, and it's close to home. Very inspirational and helpful, too.
I *heart* a work of heart. I attended the grand opening..and they HAVE added a lot of stuff with a lot more. Looks like they ventured with online store ScrapLovers. The owners said they'll be adding even more items in the next few months as the building owners bring it up to date.
The make & takes were a ton of fun and right in line with the trends
I also attended a crop here a few weeks ago and there was plenty of room for me and my friends (there were 8 of us). The owner is happy to reconfigure the tables how you need them for space and has other tables as well I'm used to working at the dining room table at home..so to come here and have table space and EVRY TOOL IMAGINEABLE..it's a luxury.
It's a bit of a drive, but as my scrapping friends are in the south bay..I'm happy to make it and love supporting an independent business
Very nice selection of scrapbooking/altered art supplies and their classes are wonderful! The owners are very helpful too. They get new stock in frequently so although the store is small, there's always a good selection of new items I've never seen before.

Cute store, the ladies who work here (the owners?) are very helpful and friendly, and the merchandise is abundant. I was tempted to buy some rubber stamps and a few rub-on embellishments. I did notice that they are priced a little higher than Paper Source. (Paper Source carries Color Box brand stamp pads for $5.10, this store charges a few dollars more!) The next time I stop by here, it will be to purchase some scrapbooking paper.
I have only been here once, when i was putting together my wedding album. But I thought it was great because I wanted to just make some ovals, and I didnt want to buy the oval cutter just for that! (They charge by the hour)
They also have other cutting machines that you can use - like a big collection of the cutterbug (or was it cricut?). Now that I have a baby on the way, I will probably go in to make some things using that machine, since there are some really cute designs with cutterbug, but the machine is so expensive if you arent planning to be the crafty mom (like i dont expect to be!)
