Scarmbl'z has reopened under new ownership. I had missed it so terribly after it closed down so suddenly. You don't know what you have until it's gone, you know?

The menu is the same and you can still get big, yummy breakfast meals. At this point they are only open until 3pm. I had an omelet with pancakes as my side. The foods seems fluffier and fresher than it was before - so very, very scrumptious. The servers are all young and nice - when I went it was rather busy and it was clear that they were working hard to juggle their tables, but the service was fairly fast and attentive.

This place is worth coming back to!

They were closed for 4 months, but reopened about 2 weeks ago.
The menu is the same but the quality has improved since the last time I was here. All their omelets are massive, but not too greasy. They also use very good ingredients. I got the California omelet (chicken avocado, scallions), and the chicken was all white meat grilled separately spiced, and folded in with the eggs. They also do a great egg white omelet if you ask (no extra charge). All their breakfast meats are excellent; the bacon is very thick and crispy. The service was very friendly and fast.
Now if only they could do something about that country music they have blaring nonstop....

Scrambl'z is CLOSED as of June 3, 2008. Check out this article in the Modesto Bee: http://www.modbee.com/....

They didn't inform their employees of the closure. Nice going, folks!

(As an aside, I second LibbyL's review: one star for having a misplaced apostrophe.)

Scrambl'z is the ultimate breakfast place.  It's family friendly atmosphere will please everyone from junior to grandma..

The servings are huge so come hungry... Most of the breakfast dishes come with two sides with a choice of:  French Toast, Fruit, Toast, hash browns, home fries or Pancakes... I ordered the bacon and cheese omelet with hash browns and pancakes.. The omelet was cooked to perfection and there was no skimping on the cheese or bacon in this omelet. The pancakes where light and fluffy topped with homemade butter... My hash browns were crispy and not oily...

Service was friendly...They servers know my family since they come out and eat here at least once a week. They know that my five year old niece will order the mini pancakes with sausage and a cup of hot chocolate with no whip cream..Even when the place is packed, the servers keep a smile on their faces and always treat their customers consistently.. .Now that's service...

Great place for breakfast! The portions are huge and super filling. The wait staff always very accommodating and friendly even when it's super busy. Some of the girls at the front, eh just be glad they aren't the wait staff, their attitudes leave much to be desired. Great place for families, my girls love their pancakes and hot chocolate. Noise is not a factor, the kids can be kids and not look like brats!

***UPDATE****
Um $4 Bloody Mary and Mimosa Action! Oh I'm in heaven!!!!

Great place as far as SUPER large portions... and low price... Good coffee.

BUT...but..

I have given this place two chances.. both times on a Saturday morning for breakfast with friends and the second with my husband...granted that they were VERY busy.. (we were there about 8:30am)

Both times the meals took FOREVER to get to our table! We were past hungry!  And we could flag down the server/waitress for a split second...we had to practically flash them to get our attention for a refill on our coffee. :-(

My husband disliked it...and he is pretty easy going.

I recommend it if you have like 5 hours to spare for breakfast... they take a long time to get your order and to give it to you...

Probably will stick to Perko's, The lunch pail and the Village Baking company for breakfast on the weekends...

Big thumbs down from me to Scrambl'z!

Since the Velvet Grill (in my opinion) is going down hill food-wise, I've been going to Scrambl'z for breakfast outings. The portions are great and you obviously gotta love the campy orgy of random knickknacks . The wait can be a bit long, especially on Sunday, but It's still extremely enjoyable.
