I started going to the Scissors Edge about a year ago, when I was DESPERATE for a haircut, and my current hairdresser was booked. I had my hair cut by Ina, and she did an amazing job. I actually cut 9 inches off, which was pretty dramatic so I definitely took a risk which turned out great. After that experience, I realized my old hairdresser basically sucked. Ina incorporated some layering in my hair, which for years now I have been TRYING to get my old hairdresser to do, but she wouldn't. My hair is super fine and loses volume, so the layers made it look more textured and volumized. I also had my haircut another time with Christina, who also did a great job.
I think I paid 50 dollars for the cut, which isn't exactly cheap but for how pleased I am with my hair, it was worth it. NOTE: they no longer allow you to place the tip on the credit card, so be smart and come with cash.. because I had to learn that the hard way.
This is the best haircut of my life.
Salon style at barber prices.
Growing up I used to come to this place whenever the hair got out of control. Ike was always there to give me the "New Trier". Ike has moved on to Florida, but the women who remain are both beautiful and talented. I now live in the city and its more convenient to get my haircut down there, but this place is the place to go if you need a trim. The prices are a bit high, but the service is always friendly.
