They do have an amazing dark chocolate selection, and in particular, a dark chocolate mocha (bits of coffee in it). I can't give it 5 stars because it's not Neuhaus, but it is pretty darn good stuff. And you can get it in places like Amish Market and Gourmet Garage, too, not just in the store.
I just had a piece of Sharffen Berger Semisweet 62% Cacao chocolate and it was so deliciously amazing, I had to stop mid-mouthgasm and share the secret with the world.

DEE- LICIOUS!
I can't believe this store went in just as I moved *out* of this 'hood...the end of my street too! How unfair! I guess it's better as such as I'd be a huge oopma loompa by now. This chocolate is the best! They're bittersweet is amazing. Plus, they serve Peet's coffee! What could be a better duo? If you havent been/tried? go in for the sampler square pack. You won't be let down. Now if only we could get a Peet's shop here...

Hands down, the best chocolate in the world. I've never been to this store, I admit. But I've enjoyed their fine chocolates bought elsewhere for years. Give the high cocoa content offerings a try - they are the best. Even if you're not into dark chocolate, the complicated flavors of good cocoa will convert you.

So, I was walking down the street with my dad and my husband when I saw this shop out of the corner of my eye. I nearly ran down some woman and her little dog as I took a hard left into the store. Then, I nearly fell over when the lady behind the counter said the store had been there for years.
Granted, I don't haunt the UWS like I used to, but I would have thought that the opening of a Scharffen Berger shop would have tingled my chocolate sense.
I love Scharffen Berger chocolate. I know these are useless words, but I find their chocolate to be richer and deeper than most other mass produced chocolates. And they're based in the Bay Area (which gives them points), but now they're owned by Hershey's (I'll only subtract points if their product goes downhill). I use SB for baking and regular eating. The hubby also makes me a mean hot chocolate with it.

Don't really fancy their dark chocolate but the shop is pretty cool.
