I've used these guys many times. The work is far superior than any other shop I have ever used.  Complaints of cost are unwarranted.  Cost is inline with the quality of work they do.   Only negative they do tend to take a long time to complete the job.  That is a small price to pay in my opinion

Took longer than promised time to fix a bumper.
original estimate is 2-3 days, now become a week, possibly longer.
Cause inconvinience in car rental/auto insurance.  No apology.

Also replacing the whole bumper instead of repair(minor fender bender) seems unecessary, although the cost is covered by insurance

Seriously epic customer service. I've had to go here twice in the past 3 months and I have left with an awesomely new-looking car and perfect service. The first time I was responsible for the accident so I had to pay my deductible and the second time was completely free. They have worked on both the front and rear ends of my car and I have been happy all around. They did take slightly longer than the initial quote (7 business days) for the front end the first time (~2 weeks) but there was a sizable amount of damage. They quoted me 4 business days for the back but it only took 3!

God forbid I have another accident, but I know I am coming back here if I do! :)

Okay updated review.  Took my car here a second time (I know, it's my fault).  They are taking a long time again.  I told them to order a used car door from salvage and if they couldn't find one within 3-4 days, to order a new car door from the dealership.  After that, they said it would only take a few days to fix the car.   I called a week and a half later and they were still waiting for a used car door!  They didn't even order a new door. You definitely have to keep on calling or your car doesn't get fixed.   This sucks.

Got in a bad auto accident and was referred here by State Farm Insurance.  I had to get my car towed there, and this place has a contract with the tow company, which happens to be across the street.  The tow yard kept my car and brought it over at no charge to me.  I had to pay my deductible, but State Farm took care of the rest.  The people there are really nice and friendly and even stowed my surfboard there until I got my car fixed.  The reason I give only 4 stars is because they took a little over a week longer than they told me, and this caused me some inconvenience.

I read the reviews and went to this place with some trepidation but I was pleasantly surprised at every turn.

I brought in my Prius after an accident that basically left the whole front end of the car out of commission cosmetically though it ran fine. I planned to take the bus or walk back to my house, about two miles away, after I dropped off my baby but they offered me a ride and a nice man drove me back to my house.

They called me the next day with a quote which seemed pricey but they went through the costs line by line with me and I could understand why it was so expensive. My car was ready two days EARLIER than they told me it would be and when I picked it up it looked better than the day I bought it, gorgeously clean, shiny and detailed. Also, the repairman offered to fix some scratches from a previous accident for free! I can't say enough good things about this place and if (heaven forbid) I need my car fixed again, I will bring it here with confidence.

Took my car here to repair a left front fender and left side rear view mirror which was all crumpled up from a sideswipe accident.

Ole and his crew did a great job.  I just got the car back today and it literally is as good as new.  The fender fitting is perfect, there are no gaps or unevenness in the alignment of the fender.  The paint match is perfect and the whole car is detailed for drive off.

Only downgrade is the car took about a week longer than it should have due to a mistake with the parts ordering and a little bit of fumbling from the front office- but nothing worth missing out on a good auto body place for.  I definitely recommend this place.  Their rates aned estimates are reasonable and accurate.

Took my car here (a BMW e36 M3) after a fender bender. While it ended up taking a while to fix (mostly my fault for ordering after-market glass headlights), the guys (and girls) at Scandinavian Coachcraft know their business. Armando, their BMW specialist, was extremely helpful -- not only with the repairs, but with some additional replacements and suggestions as well. In addition, after the lights (umnitza) turned out to be a major nightmare, the owner (Ola) and Armando did their best to help make the lights work correctly, even repairing them complementary.

My advice: if you have a BMW (especially an M3) in the Santa Monica / Brentwood area, go see these guys, and feel free to drop a reference. My other advice: Stay the hell away from aftermarket parts.

A few years ago, after my car was smashed (the first time) I went to one of those places recommended/affiliated with the other guy's insurance company, and they actually put non-volvo parts on my car, specifically the rubbery thingamajig that keeps the rain out that goes between the door and the rest of the car body.  Boyfriend at the time figured it out.  I took the car to Volvo of Santa Monica, and they told me to go see Ole Vandborg at Scandivian Coachcraft.  So, needless to say,  I was all hyped up about the fact that my car had been screwed over by another body shop.  Ole calmed me down, fixed everything fast, and for the life of me I can't remember how much it cost.  Which means it didn't cost much, because I can pretty much tell you the price of every pair of shoes in my closet.

Sadly, I've had to bring my volvo here a few times after that for some minor scratches, etc.  Ole has always fixed the car perfectly, and quickly, for a reasonable price.  What makes this place a five star experience, however, based on the last time I had to bring the car in.  In May 2010 I got rear-ended by some drunk guy going at least 55.  I was at a complete stop, so you can just imagine the damage.  (Note: I will forever love Volvos after this crash, since I walked away with just a knee injury).  But back to Ole and Scandinvian Coachcraft - the car was almost totalled they again fixed it perfectly within a reasonable period of time, but best of all Ole seriously went to bat for me with the other insurance company.  He just wasn't going to let them nickle and dime me, and ultimately they didn't.  Moreover, Ole and his staff were able to tell that my brakes lines had severed in the accident (not really their job) and brought it over to the Volvo mechanic to make sure it was safe for me to drive.

Can not say enough nice things about them and the work they do.

So, I had an untimely fender-bender occur and State Farm gave me a list of places of which Scandinavian was number one.  So, after going there, and meeting Patty, I felt confident that they would be able to fix my car at a reasonable rate and let fate take care of the rest.

While there was a small delay in the return of my vehicle, it was very professionally handled and the company agreed to pay for my rental car to compensate the error.   That, dear yelpers, is the sign of a high quality business... realizing a mistake has been made and actually doing something to make it better.  For that, I would recommend them in a heartbeat of a minute.

When I did get my car back (three days after dropping it off), it looked better than the day I drove it off the lot!  They had waxed it, cleaned out the inside, and made it sparkle!

For those that complained, I can only say your experiences seem very isolated.  This company is reputable (as noticed by the BBB sign sitting in their lobby).  If they are members of the Better Business Bureau, they are for a reason.

My 50th review and a place that holds dear to my heart. From 2007-2008 I got in 4 accidents, yes 4.. and I brought my car here each and every time.  From my engine falling out due to a loose spare tire on the 405 at 2am, to a fender bender on my back bumper they have done an awesome and professional job on my past, poor volvo s40.  Patty has always treated me like a friend and always remembers who you are when you call.  Ole, the owner, took care of me during my tragic engine accident and even lightened the mood with light jokes.  My car always came back better than before, amazing clean and with a lifetime warranty of their repairs. I moved to Pasadena last year and sadly most likely will not be taking my car in the future if need be.

Do not go here unless insurance is paying. Their charges are ridiculous. $110 forklift charge for moving a car 200 feet on a forklift.
Although they do have a reputation for quality work.

Well, I unfortunately had to have the front end of my Porsche Turbo repainted so I headed over to SCC.  Once again, they delivered the car in beautiful shape and even washed and waxed the whole thing.  It was like brand new again, on time and done right.  Patty, Armando, Ole and the crew took great care of me and gave me regular updates and even called me with questions/concerns instead of just moving forward as they know I'm anal about my cars and want everything "just right".  Great job and thanks again to the crew!
