My brother had his wedding here so it was our headquarters for the weekend of the wedding.  I felt like I was visiting an old aunt with a country house who only wants to please you .  I was blown away by the amazing service the staff offered.

The ceremony and reception were both at the mansion.  Ceremony outside on the back lawn (freezing in November!) with cocktail hour inside the mansion and reception outside in the heated tent.  It was not the typical ballroom feel many weddings have and felt like a great intimate party with 100 of our closest friends.

The staff and caterers were amazing. The bride wanted a lambchop while taking pictures so they made the couple sampling plates from the cocktail hour and brought it to her, later during the ceremony my grandmother wanted a cup of tea and they brought a full setup out to her table.  The manager of the mansion was on hand from 11am when we began getting ready until after midnight when things were winding down.

Many of the out of town guests stayed over and the party continued the next morning at brunch.  The convience of Comfort Suites across the street and additional rooms in the building behind the mansion assured plenty of room.

We have stayed at the Sayre Mansion twice.  It is a really nice place.  The first time we stayed in a queen bed room with "fake" fireplace -- the fireplace had the look of a fire and gave off heat.  The room was large (I think it was room #12).  We walked around the place a bit.  The basement was interesting with the various rooms.  Drinks were available all day and at night there was wine.  There was also fruit and cookies at various times.
The second time we stayed we were in the conservatory.  This is a room that has an all glass roof.  There are other nice little things in the room -- tea, small fridge with drinks, plants and you don't have anyone above you.
But..... you better not mind light.  Even with a cloudy night it was bright.  Why? Because the street lights were bouncing off the fog.  Wow.  Never expected that.  It would be neat to be there for a thunder storm.  The morning comes early with an all glass roof.
Breakfast is okay.  It is nice but just isn't what one would rave about.

Watch for January/February specials.  Sometimes buy one night/get one free.

I had my wedding here and loved it. E-mail me for pictures if you are considering it for your wedding. My wedding party/family was able to stay in the B&B all weekend, and everyone was happy with the service and the food.

The location is also great for a wedding, because people can walk to the local bars if they still want to party after the reception. It's also walking distance to the Comfort Suites, which is convenient for guests.

We had both our ceremony and reception here and I can't think of anything that went wrong. There aren't many choices in the Lehigh Valley, but Sayre is perfect if you don't want to do the whole hotel/banquet room thing.
