Going on the Pike Place Market tour at the beginning of our visit to Seattle was the BEST way to start three days of marathon eating! Seattle is a total foodie town and after going on the tour my daughter and I had a list of places we wanted to go back and eat at again. Our tour guide was awesome! I'm blanking on his name... so embarrassing! One of the best things about the tour is that they give everyone a speaker to put in your ear (darn thing would not stay on my ear so I had to keep fiddling with it) which makes it easy to hear the tour guide even if it's loud or you're not right next to him/her. It's worth the cost of admission to find so many awesome places to eat that you might miss otherwise!!!

Now if I could just get a cup of that awesome scallop chowder (which we didn't get to try on the tour, but I got to eat when we went back) right now, it would make my Sunday morning!

I was a little hesitant to fork over roughly $80 to get a tour and samples at Pike's Place for my boyfriend and me ... BUT, when all was said and done, both my boyfriend and I were SO pleased with the tour. I've recommended it to family and friends and we would not hesitate to take another Savor Seattle Food Tour!

We did the Class Pike Place tour on a Fall Saturday morning. Our tour guide, Tim, was hilarious, friendly, and extremely informative. All of our samples were delicious. It was a great way to blend breakfast/lunch, history, and fun! We left full and returned to Pike's Place to find some of the goodies we had tasted :)

In sum -- Tim's awesome, the food's delicious, money well spent, will do again :)

I rarely write reviews, but this tour has exceeded my expectations that I would like to drop a word and say, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Gourmet Food Tour, the combination of walking, learning and sitting down eating good food (along with yummy drinks) !

Coming out of the tour, I felt that it was high-quality and thought-through tour.

I think this is the best way to experience Seattle if you don't have a lot of time or not want to worry about where to go/what to see.

I first thought it was a bit pricey, but after going through the tour, it was well worth my money! I was really full (although I did eat half a piroshky and a cup of clam chowder 3 hours prior) by the end of the tour (and people tell me I eat A LOT for my size)

My tour guide Bret did a great job especially for the group of us who were "not-so-energetic" of a crowd. (he must have had a bit of hard time entertaining us..)  (Thank you Bret!)

Can we please do this tour over again? and again?
This was the best part of our trip in Seattle. I would recommend the Classic Pike Place tour to anyone visiting he first time. I would HIGHLY suggest that you take the tour your first or second day in Seattle as it really acquaints you well with the entire market, all he secret places you would have never known existed, the wonderful history behind the market as well as each store but as a perk, you get a 10% coupon to almost half the stores in the place that doesnt expire for 10 days!!!!!

Our tour guide David was just the nicest guy. He was super friendly, entertaining, informative and organized. We trully enjoyed every single place he took us to. We were on the 9:30 tour which was great.
They give everyone individual headphones which helps tremendously when youre trying to hear your guide in the crowded market. This tour is perfect for all ages.

GO HUNGRY because you will be stuffed after the tour. It was worth every penny. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for food tours in Seattle. They call you the day before to remind you where to meet, confirm and give you a number to call just in case. I also got a follow up email. Super nice. 5 stars!!

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!

I've been to Seattle a few times now and so i decided to opt for the Coffee & Chocolate Indulgence tour this past weekend. and WOW, can i say i have a whole new insight to my two favorite things to induldge on!

Caroline was our tour guide and was very enthusiastic and passionate that made the tour so much more interesting. She kept us at a great pace... not rushed, but not slooooooooow like some other general tours i've been on. the group wasn't full, so it was a good 9 people..any much larger might have been not as great. The spots we went to were great. they gave us great samples to try and the space needle part was awesome. beautiful restaurant and oh so yummy mocha braised shortribs. paired with a perfect glass of wine.

so worth the $$ and a chance to try some of the hidden gems w/in seattle. i'd love to try the Gourmet tour next time i'm in town.

My husband and I took the Savor Seattle Food Tour "Off the Beaten Path" with Brett our tour guide. Being a local, this tour was a delight. The other two "begining"  tours we had already tried those places to eat, "Off the beaten path" is for foodies who enjoy a good drink and food with an exotic flare, think seared duck cakes, pear/basalmic vinegar chocolate or salami made from a 250 year old recipe. Brett knew all the history of Seattle and his jokes were just up our alley. He kept the tour exciting and fun. I give this tour company 5 stars as we would do this tour with anyone both local and out of town.

BEST TOUR EVER!! Yelper are right this tour is a must do tour. We did the classic tour with DAVID (shout out). He was so informative. We totally took advantage of the 10% discount card for the rest of our vacation. Make sure you make this tour your first stop on your vacation. The discount card even work for cocktails at all of the Tom Douglas restaurants.

Thanks to the tour we went back and had yummy clam chowder from Pikes chowder, chocolate covered cherries and smoked salmon.

love it!!

Wonderful experience we did the coffee and chocolate tour. Our guide was amazing her name was Caroline and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.  I thought the cost was high at first but once the tour was over I thought to myself that I would have payed more. If you have never been to Seattle I would say to do this tour on your first day there its well worth it. Thanks again Savor Seattle Food Tours!

Not often do I award 5 stars, but let me tell you, Savor Seattle was awesome. We disembarked from our cruise ship at 8:30, called Savor Seattle and we were on a tour by 9:30! They were so accomodating and the tour was top notch!

It is a well thought out food tour from the pink umbrella that allows you to find your guide, the earpiece technology, the thorough explanations, super food tastings.. I could go on and on. You can tell that they have great relationships with the vendors at the market!

Caroline was funny, helpful and so informative. She allowed us to taste the best that the market offers. The samplings were so good that we returned to the vendors to buy some to bring back home. This tour is a must for all visitors.

When my mother in-law informed us she had scheduled a coffee and chocolate tour with Savor Seattle Food Tours, I was hesitant... did I want to be walked around Seattle being loudly lectured about coffee?

Not really and that was an aspect of the tour.  We stopped at the Darte with our tour guide who loudly explained glossy pictures of coffee beans and told tales of the first Starbucks. For $70, this tour was seeming pretty spendy.

But here's the thing, for  a non-local the Coffee and Chocolate Indulgence tour provides a glimpse into the awesomeness of Seattle...  from getting my mother-in-law to attempt coffee art, to sampling candies from Valentine's Day staples like the Chocolate Box, it is a nice condensed Seattle exposure.

Still $70 a ticket to see the market and Seattle Center is only worthwhile as a family experience, if you know the city very well and could probably do a lower cost version of this tour on your own...

I came across Savor Seattle when planning our first visit to Seattle. After consulting the reviews on Yelp, I decided it would be good to take a tour or two. I ended up booking the Gourmet Seattle Food & Cultural Tour and the Coffee & Chocolate Indulgence Tour. Both of our tour guides, Eric and Caroline, were great. They were funny and informative. Not only did we enjoyed delicious food, we also learned a lot about Seattle. The audio equipment was a great asset.

What we ate during our tours:

*Gourmet Seattle Food & Cultural Tour - $65 per person
Anduluca - duck cake, sangria
Serious Pie - buffalo mozzarella + tomato pizza, roasted mushroom + truffle cheese pizza
Il Bistro - saffron risotto w/ clams & mussels
Creminelli Meats - Felino, Piccante, Tarfuto
Pike Brewing Company - Naughty Nellie beer w/ cheese and bread made with the same beer; Tandem beer w/ Beechers cheddar
Fran's Chocolate - gray salt caramel, smoked salt caramel, pure dark, raspberry truffle
Gelatiamo - raspberry sorberto, cinnamon gelato

*Coffee & Chocolate Indulgence Tour - $69 per person (price includes one way monorail ride to Space Needle and admission to Space Needle)
Oliver's Lounge - Flatliner
Caffe d'Arte - latte, 1/2 lb coffee to take home
Chocolate Box - espresso shortbread, espresso-smoked sea salt caramel
The Confectional - mochaccino cheesecake, frozen Colombian hot chocolate
Starbucks - Clover brewed coffee, sun dried Ethopian roast
Cheese Cellar - barely buzzed, dry jack
Sky City - mocha-braised short ribs + wine

Prices included taxes, a print out of the places we visited and recipes, a bottle of water and a discount card for 10%-15% off for all the partners of Savor Seattle.

Arriving in Seattle, this is probably the first tour everyone should go to.  It's a real nice intro/history to Pike's market.  It will talk about some history there and also a lot of good tasting.  Some places, I wish the portion had a little more.  (maybe blame the economy) By the end of the tour , you should subtly become full.  You won't be bloated, but it's a good feeling of full.  THe discount card that you receive in the end will enable you to 10 to 15% discount on select places in Seattle...

Is it worth the money? Yes

Wonderful! Great tour guide (David) who was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. The food was excellent and it the tour itself was not too long or two short. Everything felt right. We did the Pike Place Market - Classic tour and my favorite thing was the cheese. This is a great tour to take you're first time in Seattle - you won't be disappointed. To top things off you get a 10% discount to the places you tried and more!

I guess the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that for those of you looking for things to do on a budget, you may feel that it is a little overpriced, considering you could technically get all the free samples without being part of the tour. But if you get a great tourguide like we did who tells you about everything, and a 10% discount to some great restaurants, I believe it is well worth it.

My husband and I took the "Off the Beaten Path" tour with a good friend of ours. Our tour guide was Angela and she was extremely fun and knowledgeable! All of the places we visited were definitely off the beaten path and very tasty! I also dug the headsets we wore so you didn't feel you had to be right up on your tour guide to get all the good information. There is a decent amount of walking on this tour but I felt it helped with all the tastings were were doing! My favorite stop was the Bavarian Meat Market--wonderful sausages and mustards!

All told, I've lived in in Seattle almost 3 years. I've taken numerous visitors to Pike Place market, gone with friends countless times, and honestly, I think I do a good job getting to the good stops along the way. I'd like to think I know the market decently well.

Despite that, this tour still blew me away. I learned *tons* of new things, loved interacting with the all the shop vendors (which I've always felt awkward doing on my own if I didn't plan on buying something), and of course, the food samples we got were all top notch.

You might think that the price point is a little high, like I did when I booked the first tour. First of all, the food you get makes it worth it. If you went through and bought each of those food items, you'd probably spend at least half that much. Plus, you'd have to wait in line at each spot (as opposed to getting the VIP treatment).

And I haven't even mentioned the discount card that they give you, which is 10% off each of the stops on *any* of their tours. It's good for 2 weeks, which is awesome for me... since I get to milk it for the entire time.

A Savor Seattle tour is now a definite addition when someone comes to visit. No question. It's a great time all around.

Let's start with "I hate touristy shit", which I sort of thought this was; but was grudgingly willing to try it because I like food more than I hate touristy shit.  I was blown away, definitely the most entertaining tour I have been on ever, anywhere.

To start with, our guide was very entertaining; handlebar mustache and utili-kilt? +1 for crazy characters.  Then we proceeded to move through the market, getting samples of food at the best places there and learning all about the market and it's oddities.

Stops like the 'original starbucks' and the 'pike place fish market' could have probably been skipped, everyone knows about those; but places like Chukar Cherries and the Pike Place Chowder are definitely something you may miss in the noise if were just wandering through (as a tourist).

I would definitely recommend this tour for visitors to Seattle, new residents interested in exploring the market, and old residents who haven't spent the time to truly get to know the places there.

The best part? You get a 10% discount card to a whole bunch of places (any where their tours go) so if you wanted to pick up some of the things you tried, or even try other restaurants, you can recoup some of the cost.

Wow!! My husband and I live less than an hour south of Seattle and only seem to visit the city when we have out of towns guests. Previously we have gone on the Underground Tour and visited Pikes Market. I just can't wait for my in-laws and parents to visit again so we can take them on this tour. Our guide was Brett, a very witty and friendly guy, who was very well informed on general information about the market, its history and the array of stores that we visited. We both very much enjoyed seeing another side to the market and being able to sample from places we would not ordinarily have stopped . The fresh cheese is a great example of this, I don't think that I would have ever tried fresh cheese curds if it weren't for this tour. They were wonderful! I highly recommend this tour for any visitors, it takes the confusion out of the busy market, and even for Washingtonians who like to see another side of the market!

Great fun, great food, great tourguide! Enjoyed every bit of it and was sad that it had to end. If you're in Seattle, you have to visit Pike's Market. And if you're visiting Pike's for the first time, you must join this tour! Lots of good insights and suggestions, plus a discount card to use around the market and restaurants in the city. Well worth the time and money. Would do it again, well, perhaps a different tour ;)

Bravo! We went on the Gourmet Seattle tour a couple of weeks ago; it was beyond excellent, and I've been recommending it to everyone I know, tourists and locals alike. We've lived in Seattle for three years and had already been to nearly all of the businesses we stopped at during the tour; however, the ability to meet the people behind these businesses and find out a little about how they make their signature dishes was an invaluable experience. We sampled duck cake and the most excellent sangria at Andaluca (cloves in sangria! who knew?), paella at Il Bistro, salt caramels at Chocolate Box, and so many other amazing dishes... including rice gelato, which I never would have thought of trying had it not been for this tour!

Our tour guide, Eric, was knowledgeable in food and Seattle history. They provided headsets so it was easy to hear the presentations, and our tour group was small enough to be able to ask questions and really engage all our senses in the tastings without being rushed. They were also really great about working around the dietary needs of a couple vegetarians/food allergies in the group (with advance notice, of course). I'm a very amateur photographer and was also pleased that they were so accommodating about my obnoxious picture-taking.

They also gave us a discount coupon to use at all of the businesses visited on the tour, which we promptly used. Visiting the restaurants the second time around on our own after getting an inside peek made our return visits that much more fun.

Two thumbs up! If I had more thumbs, I'd give them more. How about two thumbs and two big toes?

Just took the 9:30am tour on Sunday and it was perfect!  Not too crowded yet and only 7 people in our group so I got to eat 3 hot donuts instead of 1!   Seriously, my favorite tour ever!  If you're a foodie, you can't pass this up!  My bf's family lives up in Seattle and they went with us and learned just as much as we did about the history and food of Pike Place Market.   I can't wait to go back every year for a new tour.  I'm doing the gourmet one next year.  Love love loved the donuts, market spice tea, salmon jerky, chowder, crab cakes, honey pecans, Beechers Mac & Cheese....and best part is with the discount card, you can buy everything and bring home food souvenirs that you can enjoy all over again! :)

First time to Seattle... went with some friends and we signed up for the Pike Street Market - Classic Tour.  It was amazing way to get to know the joy that is Pike Street Market.  Our tour guide Tim rocked - informative, entertaining, funny!  We got to sample a good variety of foods - sweets, salmon, coffee, tea, cheese, chowder, cherries, etc.  Even though it was pouring rain (suprising.. I know), we still had a great time.  Would highly recommend it to anyone visiting.

And the best part at the end was a 10% discount card we could use for a week with all the participating vendors!!!  Well worth it.   If we'd had more time, I would have considered doing one of the other tours as well!

Caroline did a superb job showing us around Pike Place Market. We sampled different types of goodies such as Etta's crab cakes to clam chowder to smoke salmon to my personal favorite, Mac & Cheese. My advice is not to eat breakfast because there's a lot of food to be consumed  in this tour. Savor Seattle Food Tours is the best way to be educated about Pike Place history and importantly, to experiment with food that made Seattle famous. Golden!

I've been fortunate enough to take three Savor Seattle tours.  My previous review was of the classic Pike Place tour (May, 2008).  I didn't write a second review because I took the same exact tour again (Nov. 2008).  The good daughter-in-law I am knew better than to tell her mother-in-law no when she said she wanted to take that tour.  That time our tour guide was Eric and we all loved him.  The last tour we took was the Gourmet Seattle Tour.

We had high expectations since the previous tours were great and this one didn't disappoint.  Our tour guide was Brett and he was just as great as Eric and Tim.  We started at Andaluca and ended at Gelatiamo.  By the end of our tour we were stuffed and exhausted and happy.

I have to admit, I would have like to discover more places in Belltown/downtown instead of going to Pike Place again.   For me, some of the stories of Pike Place were a bit redundant but I loved the stops there (Salami Tartufo?  To die for!).  That said, I would gladly take another Savor Seattle tour or recommend them in a heartbeat!

Still Savoring Seattle!

I'm so glad I took this tour last month. I had a few days to experience Seattle, and wasn't sure where to begin. Of course there are the classic tourist spots, but I happen to prefer the kind of souvenir that I can put in my belly. For me, Savor Seattle Food Tours was perfect. In a couple hours, I sampled a full meal's worth of food from Seattle's best! I also learned a lot about their history, and was able to appreciate the food so much more.

I took the Pike Place Market tour and the Downtown tour. Both were amazing experiences. At first I was a little disappointed because I had been to several destinations on the itineraries, but they were able to show me (and my belly) something new at each stop. I also liked how the owners/managers of the stores/restaurants often spoke to us directly about their food and philosophy.

The only downside to these tours are the small serving sizes -- sometimes the samples were so delicious, I had to resist the temptation to abandon the tour and chow down! But in the end, your patience is rewarded with a discount card for all the vendors on the tour.

Tips: They accommodate folks with diet restrictions.

Excellent food tour!  This is in my top 2 tours of Seattle (along with the Underground tour).  Fun tour guides, great food.  Do NOT eat before you go - you will be stuffed by the end!  The only reason I did not give it a 5 was because I think they could incorporate more history and architecture in the tour.  However, the food selection was delicious and I enjoyed the restaurants.  They also accommodate different diet preferences when you give them notice when you sign up.  The headsets do make you feel like a tourist, but having the ability to hear the guide at all times is well worth the potential embarrassment!  If you love food and love to eat, be sure to take this tour!

A shout out to Tim and his pink umbrella.  We couldn't possibly miss him as we pressed through the Sunday morning crowd.  Tim did a great job and we enjoyed eating our way through the market and getting special attention and treats from the vendors.  The audio headsets made the tour even more enjoyable as we didn't have to strain to hear Tim over the fish mongers and some occasional protestors.  I would suggest taking the tour on the weekday or as early as you can on the weekend to avoid the crowds.  You can get a great deal at the Western Avenue parking garage on Sunday of you park before 9:30 AM.

The Classic Food Tour is an excellent choice for a couple of hours if you are new to Seattle, or even if you're not. I have been on tours where the foods were all foodie tortured food (to me). This one was not that way at all. Classic fresh and the best of introduction to the area itself by Caroline, our guide.  We returned on different days for the chowder, the bisque, the Russian baked meals in a roll, and bought a bunch of cherry/chocolates with the 10% discount from the tour, as well.

I strongly suggest you do this one at the beginning of a Seattle visit so that you can use all the great discounts for the rest of your stay.  We used Tom Douglas related bistro at 3 other places in the 6 days we were there.

Loved the history, as well as the food.  I can remember Chicago's Maxwell St. market very well- and it was a damn shame that they didn't  proceed with that and the old Italian neighborhood as they did in Seattle with Pike Place.  They could have put the U.of I. anywhere within 20 miles, quite truthfully- without a pause.

Normally I talk myself out of going on tours but this is definitely worth the time and money - did the Pike Place Market tour. You get a good VARIETY of sweet-savory samples from the plethora that Pike's Market has to offer. I never knew smoked salmon could be so good. Other highlights (chocolate covered bing cherries, clam chowder)

In addition to the food, you get to interact with some of the business owners and learn about the business' history/products. And our guide, Eric was nice and did a good job of keeping us entertained - not just with his hokey sense of humor but with his kilt and pink umbrella.

Plus you get a discount card, good for 10 days so if you do this, go at the beginning of your trip so you can make the most of it.

Going in, I didn't know WHAT to expect. I'm not really what you'd call a foodie, with 5 different kinds of truffle oil in my larder.

HOWEVER, this tour was entertaining AND fun. I guess you'd call it  "infotaining" (rimshot please)...............find out how to tell boy from a girl eggplant, and which one tastes better!

Do it NOW!

Ever gone to a really popular tourist spot, got overwhelmed by the crowds, could not find your way around, and left feeling like you were just trampled over? Yeah, I am not a fan of crowds and popular tourist spot because of it. You can never really enjoy it since you are trying to just survive!

Savors Seattle Food Tours solved that issue for me. My fiancé and I went through two of their tours: Off the beaten Path & Gourmet Food tours at Pike Market Place. Both were great. We were able to walk to interesting stores and chat with the owners / staff about their offerings. On top of that, we were able to taste some of the best foods in the market. We were so stuff at the end of the tours. Glad we did them on separate days! We were given wireless ear sets and a bottle of water. The ear sets were a great bonus, since we didn't have to try to hover over the tour guide. I was able to hang back a little to take pictures and still catch up with the group. With the constructions going on all overt the place, I am glad I was able to hear all the historical tidbits and bad puns!

A tip for those planning to try out Savor Seattle: go near the beginning of your Seattle trip. You get a 10% discount card at the end for all the places their tours visit. I would've loved to tried out some of the restaurants the tour went to, but we went on the last two days of our trip. Bummer too, since we went of a not-so-great brunch place on the first day. Wish I know about Andaluca's egg benedicts then!

My man commonly says I have three states of being: grumpy, hungry, then sleepy.  Why do I mention this you ask?  Well, mostly because this food tour eliminates the first 2 states, causing a state of somnabulence and bliss.

On our first trip to Seattle, we wanted to do something a little different.  We also love to eat.  Thus, the idea of taking the Downtown Seattle food tour was born.  It did not disappoint.

Starting off with a nice glass of sangria and a duck cake (kinda like a crab cake, but duck) put us quickly in the mood for more deliciousness.

Highlights include:
Pizza at Serious Pie (God, the pizza was mouthwatering here)
Mussels at Place Pignalle (everything is better with bacon)
The yummiest version of a Slim Jim I have ever had! (at the Bavarian Meats place)

Our tour was conducted by the owner of the company, Angela, who was charming, loves food, and surprisingly knowledgeable about Seattle's sordid past.  After all, who doesn't love stories about brothels and loggers, and the need for "legitimate" entertainment places.

I highly recommend this to anyone who goes to Seattle (or even people who live in Seattle).

Definitely worth it!  I moved to Seattle recently and my gf's were coming up to visit for a weekend.  They wanted to do everything touristy so after the Space Needle and countless museums, Savor Seattle Food Tours was perfect!
I learned a lot about the history of Pike's Place, and fun facts like the difference between a female and male eggplant! And honestly... I love knowing that kind of stuff!  I would even recommend it to those who call Seattle their home.  What a fun tour!

Oh and for the Pike's Place tour, meet inside Seattle's Best Coffee.  Oops.  We waited outside for a long time until I got a call asking where we were.  So I also think it's great they actually call to follow-up on you!

What an amazing way to experience Seattle. Anyone who loves food should definitely come on this tour. My family and I had a spectacular time on the downtown tour. We had Angela as our tour guide and it was great because she is the one who actually founded the company. She not only took us to wonderful food locations but also shared Seattle's sordid past with us.. the R-rated version of a city tour that you definitely wouldn't get on a duck tour! I would lay out our pit-stops but would feel horrible about giving away all of the stops and little secrets.

Initially I was worried that we wouldn't get enough food on the tour but rest assured, your appetite will be satiated after the multiple stops and various alcoholic beverages. Next time I go to Seattle, I'm going on the Pike Place Market tour.

I did the downtown tour along with Elizabeth C, who was visiting from California (it was her idea, and what a fine idea it was).  Our tour guide was Angela, the founder of the company, and she was a great guide.  Each place we stopped by felt extra special, because of the special treatment by the business owners/managers giving us the backstory of the selected bites and sips.  Also, the bites and sips were absolutely delicious.  In addition, Angela displayed a lot of knowledge of the city of Seattle, so it's more than just a food tour.  You learn, you experience, and you get full!

My favorite stops on the tour:

Serious Pie - their special style of pizza is crazy delicious
Bavarian Deli - some of the best meats I've ever tasted
Place Pigalle - mussels - with BACON!
Gelatiamo - the gelato/sorbet dessert was a great closer to the trip.

I don't generally like tours, but this one was very well done.  It's very intimate and it makes you feel like you're really experiencing Seattle, instead of just seeing landmarks that you see on postcards.  I highly suggest anyone visiting Seattle to take the tour.  In fact, I highly suggest anyone living in Seattle to take the tour as well.

My wife and I took the "Gourmet Seattle" tour this past Saturday and would recommend it highly to anyone new to the area or just visiting. Our guide, Brett, was polished and informative, kept the tour moving and interesting and the three hours flew by. We were treated to some incredible food and drink, learned a lot about the history of the city, and were extremely impressed by how legitimate the gourmet experience was. This is truly a sample of some of the best that Seattle has to offer its visitors and residents with a focus on regional, sustainable products, local chefs, and privately owned shops and restaurants. It's a perfect tour for foodies and those who love them.

I had the most wonderful experience on my Savor Seattle gourmet downtown tour last month. I was impressed with the whole setup of the tour; it flowed smoothly from start to finish and it seemed that representatives at each stop were ready and waiting for us. Our tour guide, Brett, made everyone feel welcome and we even did a quick "get-to-know-you" activity, which was especially nice as I did this tour solo. As we walked from one establishment to the next (7 total), Brett shared some history of Seattle; he also shared some of his other favorite eateries with us.

As for the food...it was delicious - all of it! I enjoyed everything and appreciated that more filling items seemed to alternate with lighter fare, allowing time for me to create some room in my tummy for what was next.

This is truly a great way to savor some of Downtown Seattle's offerings! My friends who live in Seattle were disappointed that they weren't able to go with me (they had to work) but decided that they may check it out too. If you're visiting Seattle, try to find some time in your schedule to check out one of the tours, you won't be disappointed.

I should be listed as the first review because all the other reviews are from girls!

Guys, listen: I know your girlfriend or wife has been wanting to take you on a site seeing-type adventure for months.

Here's the thing: it doesn't have to be painful, and if you choose to follow my all important strategy, I virtually guarantee it will be worth your time.

First, consider this: what if you went site seeing, and got to EAT FOOD ... that's right ... you heard me ... you get to EAT. Not just any food, but GREAT FOOD.

AND ... in addition to eating, here's the real kicker: If you play it right with the Mrs, she'll think you're doing HER a favor by going, which means ... that's right ...

FOOD and WHOOPI.

Where else can you eat great food AND get some WOOPI just for eating it?

Only on the Savor Seattle Food Tours. The other tours may have the WOOPI, but they don't have the food. Trust me, I've been on them, too.

So, next time the little lady gets it in her head to take you on a weekend excursion, say "No", but then relent so as to make her think she owes you something in return. Then go on one of the Savor Seattle Food Tours, talk incessantly about how great the food is and how thankful you are to your lady for "finally talking you into this", ask a few questions of the guides because they're funny and knowledgeable, then execute on the WHOOPI part.

No need to thank me. But you're welcome, anyway.

Godspeed.

A very satisfying, entertaining, and informative tour around the Pike's Place Market in downtown Seattle. Appetite fulfilled and palette delighted by tasty treats and delicious delectables. Our tour curator was very interactive and informative of the historics behind each market stand. She did a swell job in describing the ingredients and processes behind the foods that were served to us. Strapped with radio headphones so we can clearly hear our curator was efficient. The curator also carried a ridiculous but effective standout pink umbrella as a way for our group to follow her lead and track her down through the crowds. My favorite was the salmon jerky from the infamous fish stand, where I got to witness the throwing of fish. I was full by the end of the tour. A big part of the experience was sharing it with family, while making new friends. Highly recommended. Toured on September 18, 2009.
