Pizza - I tried the whitte/white, mediteranean, and sav-veg.  All were mediocre I thought. None of the pizzas were bad. It's thin crust and I prefer thick crust.
Service - good. No complaints. I went with a large group and were allowed to do 1/2 and 1/2 on all pizzas including the specialty pizzas, which usually most places don't let you do.
Atmosphere - very casual with indoor and outdoor seating.
Parking - in lot
Summary: everyone was satisfied but not sure if this one will be a repeater.  I still like Mellow Mushroom better!

Love Savage pizza!  Remember how school pizza had that perfectly browned...almost burned cheese?  That's Savage and it's heavenly.

Excellent pizza place. My favorite appetizer in all of Atlanta resides here - breadsticks with the cajun pizza sauce. Good pizza, servers, location and bathroom art.

This is my favorite pizza ever.  Really.  And I've tasted a lot of pizza from a lot of cities.  Savage's pizza is always fresh and hot, and their toppings are all deliciously recognizable as real food (e.g., no crappy canned mushrooms here).  The crust isn't too thick, but it's not too thin, and it's always toasted just right.  I almost always build my own pizza, and usually use either their garlic tomato sauce or spicy tomato sauce.  Absolute heaven.  If my husband would agree to eat there five times a week, I'd be very happy.

I honestly have no idea how anyone could not be in love with this pizza, but that's ok -- that means I won't have to wait to be seated when I go there.  And by the way, the service is really good, there's free parking, they serve mammoth-sized drinks, and it's really affordable.

God help me for saying this (or God protect me, really) but I don't like Chicago pizza. It's too thick, it's goopy and I have yet to find a white sauce. Yes, it's become easier to find a pizza I like in Chicago since Neopolitan places are springing up all over the places, but I still prefer this place to all the fancy brick oven Nepolitan pizza joints.

The crust is thin yet chewy and their white pizza is amazing!  Garlicky goodness that is accentuated with sun dried tomatoes, artichokes and proscuitto. How I miss that combination.  Oh how I miss this place.  Plus I love the bathroom wall art.

I have a problem. As much as I would like to erase my memory and just forget what I know, I can't. More and more, as I try restaurants in the young-hip-trendy and pierced Little Five Points, I'm finding them not worth the trouble. Savage Pizza, with it's unique and interesting comic-book theme, serves pizza. They'll put anything on it you want. Sure why not, that doesn't mean it'll taste good. Well, okay let's be fair, it'll satisfy you less than delivery from Dominoes.

I don't know why some people seem to really like Savage Pizza, there's so much better available. Fellini's and Mellow Mushroom are both great alternatives, and nearly 200% better - all the time.

They cook up a thin crust at Savage, but it doesn't really do it for me. While not as bad as the cardboard you get at Peter Piper's or Chuck-E-Cheeses, it's nearly as boring. The topings are heaped on top, and the pre-designed pizzas seem to have been made with no thought other than, I like all of these items together, let's throw a lot of them onto the pizza. The combinations are not only uninspired, but don't really add up to anything worth your time.

Understand, I don't have a problem with the service, I don't have a problem with anything at Savage Pizza except the pizza.  It was really disappointing, especially after so many great experiences with no problems - ever, at Mellow and Fellini's.

Sorry, but save your money and go someplace else.

Maybe I'm just looking back on my high school experiences with rose-colored glasses (doubtful), but it seems to me that the pizza I had at Savage way back in the early '00s beats any slice I've eaten in Brooklyn or the greater NYC area since. Go figure.

I recall the tomato basil pizza being especially tasty.

I've been in the northeast for going on half a decade now, but the idea of being able to legally drink a beer on the Savage Pizza patio is one of the most tempting reasons to return to the ATL.

What can I say...Savage Pizza is fair at best.  It is o.k. for a quick slice, but there is much better in Atlanta.  There is a problem with the crust: while it is thin, the underside has this strange smooth texture, kinda like old leather.

The sauce has a nice spice to it, but the cheese is a combo of moz, provolone and parmesan.  What's up with that?

Overrated.  I give it my 'just plain ole cheese in Atlanta' rating...from the NY Pizza Guy.

I love savage pizza.  This is my favorite pizza in Atlanta.  I guess growing up in NY has made my stomach somewhat used to pizza being on the greasier side (if you fold a slice in half and hold it vertically over your plate, a nice steady orange stream of oil should manifest itself indicating that this is not good for your cardiovascular system).  I think what does it for me is the garlic tomato sauce... you should definitely try this if you like garlic.  They also get bonus points for having anchovies on the menu... too many places these days have shied away from these lovely overly-salty fishy toppings.  I don't often get them, but I appreciate having the option.

My other favorite Atlanta pizza joint. I really like going to Savage, and unlike Johnny's, I can go here and hang out for a few hours easily.

With the one-of-a-kind comic book themed decor, there's no mistaking Savage for any other pizza place in Atlanta. The inside is filled with plenty of booth and table seating, and there's a small-ish outdoor area with ample seating for several small parties.

Your beverage of choice is delivered in the old skool GIANT plastic cups, which I love. The pizza itself is always great. Much in the same style as Johnny's, although I feel Savage's slices are a bit smaller. There are a lot of great slices to choose from.

The service is pretty good, not great, but the wait-staff is usually friendly enough and attentive to your order and refills.

If you manage to save room for desert... a little known secret is that Savage stocks Alon's Midnight Cake - and it is HANDS DOWN the best piece of cake I've ever had. Get a slice to take home, you'll thank me for it.

Plenty of parking in the lot, but watch out for the Lot-Nazis. They'll try to get you to pay because they think you're going to go roam 5 Points. Just inform them that you're eating at Johnny's and they'll leave you alone. Can't say the same for the homeless dudes... you're on your own there.

You gotta love Savage for their off-the-wall decor, and super tasty slices. Another place that everyone in Atlanta should visit at least once.

I really love Savage Pizza.  It's my second-favorite pizza in the whole city...nice and gooey calzones, too!  There's a fun atmosphere, decent prices, and good service.

As a visitor to Atlanta for work, I needed to get out of convention center hell and venture to a cool neighborhood for an evening. Thankfully L5P and Savage provided a great night out with a couple of girlfriends. I loved that we could each get our own small pizzas and didn't have to negotiate on toppings. I loved that they had choices for sauce and wheat or white crust. All in all, I would definitely come back if I lived here full time.

Savage Pizza is a good, solid pizza place.  What I think sets it apart from other places is the variety of different pizzas.  Who knew you could turn an enchilada dish into a pizza like the mexican deluxe pizza.  Or a Cajun pizza; hmmm, that is interesting.   Pricers are standard pizza prices in Atlanta, the large is $15-$20, medium about $15, and the small about 8-10 dollars.

It is located right at the in little 5 points at the edge of little five points so you are lucky enough to find easy to get to free parking.

This place was super cool back when it was off of briarcliff back in the 56k days....or course that was in the get loaded and get pizza days too.

I returned there recently and found myself the loan slacked and dry cleaned shirted amongst the skinny jeaned two tone haired crowd.... man did I feel senior.
The waitress knew the deal and made me feel "in" complementing me on my shiny brown penny loafers.

I sat down and the Blackberry went off. Micheal had downed a server in Australia and I had to spring into action. I booted my trusty D610 and VPN'd in. The users would be up soon and we had to get Exchange replicating before it was too late.

Sweat came down my brow. The girl with the skinny jeans kids was sporting a Saosin shirt.. I wonder if she could conceive that this corpo guy liked them too.

Regardless, my spinach salad arrived and I had upgraded to a Heineken from water with lemon. It was time for action.

As I hastily put in a change request, I caught her eying my desktop.. it was a shot of A7X  I took at a Warped tour some time ago... I smiled, she smiled.

The Heineken called me to the restroom, when I returned there was a napkin with "Sara 678....." and a heart on it; written in Sharpie.

I never called, but I know I've got to get back to L5P and to Savage Pizza.

Like most who are emotionally still twelve years old, I could eat pizza for three meals a day and be content. In college, I was so well known to my local pizza delivery joint that they recognized my voice when I called and were crushed to find that I was graduating and cutting  their income so dramatically.

Savage Pizza is the latest fling in my long affair with pizza. The pies are expertly made with a wide range of toppings and sauces to choose from. The decor is all comic books and action figures, which is great for other aging twelve year olds like me.

Until 4 PM, Savage offers pizza by the slice with your choice of toppings. The specialty pizzas are my favorite, particularly the white on red pizza and the chicken florentine pizza. If you want other options than pizza, give the eggplant parm sub or the lasagna a try.

I love pizza places that aren't chains, and Savage has quickly become my favorite spot in Atlanta for a slice at lunch or a big, hearty pizza for dinner with friends.

Savage Pizza is a well known staple in Little 5 Points.  I've been a few times and the pizza was good, but not the best I've had in Atlanta.  While they offer a variety of signature pizza's, I've gotten so used to Felini's that its definitely my first preference for pizza.   If anything the ambiance is cool showcasing comic book imagery.  The restaurant space is very intimate and great for groups of four or less. At this quick serve restaurant, prices are very reasonable and consistent with what you'll find at other neighborhood pizzerias.

Home of the Bill Special, a pie with tomato sauce, pesto, mozzarella, feta, and pineapple. Yes, the pesto makes it a little greasy, but it's a good greasy.

Savage is considered by many to be the best pizza in Atlanta. I wouldn't go quite that far, but I would recommend it to anyone looking for a tasty slice in a fun, family friendly space.

Savage Pizza gives me another reason to love Little Five Points. (Like I don't already have enough?!) This location is fantastic. And who doesn't love pizza? I get bored with chains, and prefer Savage when I am willing to make the drive. The toppings are always fresh, and they give you the option of whole wheat. The only downside is parking. It's a pain to drive in circles then walk twenty minutes to reach your destination. Guess that's  the price you pay for living in an awesome city with countless places to eat!!

My favorite thing to order off of the Savage Pizza menu is actually not pizza, but the calzones. I've tried all sorts of combinations and keep coming up with winners. My favorite is the chicken calzone. with either broccoli or spinach. Either eating in or dining out, the taste is the same. I would suggest asking for extra marinara sauce because you will most likely run out dipping piece after piece into the addictive red sauce.

The location, Little 5 Points, is home to many of the best boutiques and bargain stores in the city of Atlanta. Make Savage a stop after a day of strolling through the shopping East Atlanta has to offer.

I love having choices when it comes to pizza. You pick the crust the sauce and the toppings, fabulous!  Savage makes excellent pizzas with options like whole wheat crust and pesto sundried tomato sauce.  They also serve calzones, salads and other pizza fare.

I'm quite fond of the decor, super heroes everywhere!  There's an outdoor patio and indoor seating.  They deliver or you can eat in and the prices are around $10 for a medium pie.  THe pizza is comparable to Northeast pizza and not super greasy which is much appreciated.  They're a local business and a staple in Little 5 points.  Staff is friendly and it has a parking lot, which is rare in little 5.  The lot is a pay lot but not if you're eating at Savage. Variety is the biggest plus, I love choices.

Great food, service, and atmosphere.... horrible parking

I guess it comes from Little 5 Points being so busy but come on between the Vortex and Junkman's Daughter it is nearly impossible to find parking in proximity to Savage, but it still is worth the walk.

Little 5 points. Atlanta's little bohemia. On every corner theres a clothes shop, a bookstore, a pub and ..a pizza place.

Comics is the theme of Savage Pizza. On the walls are posters and blowups of various comic books and heroes. Large plastic figurines dangle from the ceiling. Smaller collectibles line a shelf on wall. Most are  easily identifable some are a little obscure.

Theres lots of wood here.  Some of the chairs look like church pews.  Solid but comfortable.

The atmosphere is friendly and the waitresses were helpful. The menu did feature quite a few meatless offerings but I decided to get the chicken ceasar salad. The salad had almost as much meat as greens..mmm.. I also got a small pepperoni pizza which was also good. Oh yeah, the place is non smoking.

If you want just a sample and get pizza by the slice, make sure you get in before 5pm.
