I have a new favorite gift shop!
There were LITERALLY so many cool toys/gifts/fun whatchamacallits that I only got to look through a quarter or so of them all!
Large store w/ just about everything innocent & fun you can imagine.
Prices are a little higher than I'd prefer but still, nothing but sheer awesomeness here. The service was so-so but not issue enough to lower the rating..
So much awesomeness here that they still deserve 5 fatties. Need to go back to get one of those "EVOLVE" Jesus fish/creature emblems you put on the back of your car (lol).
Can't wait to go back & see what else they have.
Bad@$$ store!!!
P.S. They totally deserve ALL of the "People Love Us On Yelp" stickers stuck to their glass door!
This is my absolute favorite store in Sausalito. They have tons of neat and random things that make it a great place to shop for gifts from Paul Frank to famous people action figures and bobble heads to bacon flavored floss to cell phone trinkets to special occasion cards. And whenever I come, I have to stop and read one of their Mr. Men and Little Miss books. They have a whole rack full of these books and I always get a good kick out of them. Plus, they bring back so many fond memories of my childhood.
If you're out of ideas for a fun gift, then you definitely need to come here ;D
I like browsing random knick knacks and gadgets and this place is THE place to do so! My friends and I had biked over the GGBridge to Sausalito from the Marina district (long bike ride especially when your bike is stuck in 7th gear 80% of the time -_-) and one of them wanted to go here since she was there last time. From the outside the place looked a little unappealing but then I realized there is a reason for why there were a lot of people inside browsing and checking out funny, random, cool, handy, cute, random, and more random things in the store. They have a lot of products here; from cell phone accessories, grow your own jesus, extend-a-forks, a wallet with a picture of bacon on it, wind up toys of little dinosaurs, big teeth, and penguins, and so much more! This is one of those places where you can literally laugh out loud and find one of the most unusual and fascinating toys ever made.
It's fun in here but I don't think i'd want to buy anything for myself, more for people that I think of when I look at these toys. I guess you can call this store a modern toy store for the teenagers and adults. It was nice being able to find a place to find gag gifts (besides Spencer's gifts) that's also local. The prices here are okay but i don't expect it to be super cheap since it is after all, Sausalito.
I'd like to come back to this store again when I come back home and check out any new knick knacks and paddywhacks here again. And hopefully I will have more money to spend on especially for those instantaneous moments of friends that come to mind when looking at one of the unique products on the shelf.
Its a fine store for little gag gift store. But selection is small. Where is Spencer Gifts when you really need em.
I finally got around to coming back for another visit yesterday evening and the service was much better; we were actually greeted and the employees were pretty attentive compared to last time. Still lots of cool stuff there, perfect place to find unique and inexpensive little gifts (especially with Christmas coming up).

This store is fabulosity to the power of 15
I wandered in here while walking the Sausalito strip, and as soon as I stepped inside I yearned for someone to share the experience with. Every corner of this place is filled with something quirky, adorable, and genius.
I discovered:
1.) A Grow your own Cabana Boy kit
2.) A Moses action figure (my mom actually owns the Jesus one...and once pitted him against my Ken doll...bizarre I know)
3.) A Van Gogh action figure (complete with severed ear head replacement)
4.) A Mr Bacon toy
5.) A Captain Corndog toy
6.) An I Love My Penis air freshner
7.) A pair of Candy necklace underwear
8.) A Candy necklace bra
9.) Pez dispensers
10.) Tin Tin books (my brother used to be an avid collector of these. A classic comic)
11.) Tin Tin posters
12.) Breakfast flavored floss, including a waffle flavor.
I could rattle off at least 100 more killer finds.
The point is: Sausalito Ferry Company Gift Store - needs a more exciting name - cause Sausalito Ferry Company Gift Store doesn't give this place enough credit. If you're looking for a unique gift for anyone - you are guaranteed to find something slightly off and oh so perfect here.
I usually don't review stores like this, but the Sausalito Ferry Co. is AWESOME!
When i say 'Stores like this' i mean the stores that sell a bunch of knick-knacks at ridiculous prices. Junk toys that are cool to look at but you don't really need... Gift stores. Touristy stores. Gag stores, you know?
But i swear to you, this is unlike any other knick-knack toy store I've ever been to! The prices are fair and they have things I've never even seen before! I mean they have EVERYTHING here! From every bobblehead of every cartoon character, to every action figure of Einstein! From every Star Wars toy to every animal anatomy science display! From every gift card to every rubber chicken! Every wind-up toy! Every Japanese eraser! lol This place even sells dental tooth picks! Look at my photos! I'm not lying!
This place is really awesome, and i can SERIOUSLY see myself driving all the way from Alameda back to here just to pick a few funny gifts in the future! Great store.
There is quite an assortment of random shit here - from miniature pigs to Paul Frank to Hello Kitty to an Edgar Allen Poe action figure and an impressive Pez dispenser selection...it's a great place to shop for a funny but essentially useless gift.
Classier than Spencer's Gifts, but on a weekend afternoon, it's like trying to walk through Grand Central station during rush hour.
Paul Frank and Gama-Go T-shirts!!
Tin Tin Models
Super Mario Bros Models
Funny Cards to give to your friends
Interesting toys/items ranging from the worlds smallest duck?! to a edgar allen poe Figure!?!? to even wooden designer cars?!!?
A great place to pick up a fun gift for your friends or for yourself~
This store is an absolute hidden gem. They carry items with characters from Tokidoki, Paul Frank, Sunshine Buddy, Doraemon...the list goes on. The thing I liked most about this store was how rare some of the items were. You can tell which toys came straight from Japan. Surprisingly, a lot of the toys weren't as expensive as I would have expected them to be. I've been to a lot of specialty stores that would be selling a lot of the items for much higher prices, but I guess that's what makes this store so attractive. They even had this one toy with these Japanese characters that I haven't seen since I was a kid...crazy.
If you're a sucker for trinkets and cutsie toys, beware. It's hard to walk out of this store empty handed. If you look around hard enough, you can find stuff at reasonable prices. As for me, it's always so hard to say no to Doraemon.
they sell really cute stuff - from bobble heads to animal magnets to vinly figures to an endless assortment of things to dangle off your phone.
also they open a bunch of blindbox items like the ugly dolls and toki doki cactus friends. so you can just choose them instead of not knowing what you are going to get. i know its not as fun. but its less of a waste of money!
Pros: Ridiculously high cute factor, huge variety of tchotchkes, friendly staff and easy street parking.
Cons: Somewhat overpriced and usually pretty crowded.
My shopping list:
rubber duckies
Paul Frank
baby tees
Star Wars (love the adorable new products!)
teeny tiny minis
Sanrio
bendy magnets
Smurfs
Conclusion: I am way too enamored with cutesy useless stuff! ;)
This place opened years ago, and belive me, years ago it was way ahead of it's time. When it comes to out of sight merchandise, which includes, candy, cards, and toys, this place has it all, and a lot of it. I do shopping for Christmas, birthdays, or just because as much as I can. When I was younger and had less kids it was easier to go there. Now unfortunately I can't get there as much, but when I go I bring the kids and they love the place! If you are in, or around Sausalito make sure you checke this place out, it will be hard for you to leave there, and I can guarantee you will most likely buy something. The pictures posted don't even tell a smidgen of what they have here.
Things that you will find at the Sausalito Ferry Co:
- Candy G-strings and bras
- Communist moustache and beard sets
- Instant Gay Lisp sour tarts
- Sushi-print tissues
- I heart Porn magnets
- The complete Monchhichi doll collection
- Sigmund Freud and Couch finger puppet sets
- Marie Antoinette Head Lollipops
- Buddha, Jesus, Pooh bear, and R2D2 Pencil toppers
- Rubber Chickens wearing bikinis
- Dental picks and mirrors
- Paul Frank socks, boxers, sweatshirts, and tanks
- Fart machines
- Glow-in-the-Dark Saints
- Wind-up Racing Nuns
- Plastic Smurf Bobbleheads
....basically, anything you could ever need.
awesome random stuff. good for buying gifts. my sister bought me some random dental tools. yes, it was perfect for a person who's neurotic about her teeth.
I really liked this store for a number of reasons:
1) The endless amount of Paul Frank items that they carry.
2) Containers upon containers at the counter filled with random trinkets and goodies.
3) Random and hilarious items that would make great gifts to your random and hilarious friends.
The prices are retail, so no discounts here. They do have some things on sale, but not that much.
Went in a few times this holiday season for Secret Santa gifts, stocking stuffers, and birthday presents -- the staff was uniformly helpful and accommodating, and they have some great new Star Wars novelties to delight any age.

Not a tourist trap! Sure, tourists come in; but according to the owners, we locals are their bread… Read more »
Wow, this is totally my kind of store!
What an adventure... you never know what you'll find here, including but not limited to...
* Huge Julius monkey on display on the window, for all you Paul Frank fans. They've also got a ton of PF merchandise, including a very cute SF edition t-shirt. For some reason, I liked the selection here better than at the PF Store in Union Square.
* Interesting selection of candy. Especially enjoyed looking at the gum/mints which included "Ass Kisser" and "Shut the Hell Up" packaged gum. Fun for work, eh?
* Lots of random toys including Nintendo Famicom paraphernalia from Japan and cute solar powered desk toys.
* Largest selection of Emily the Strange clothing, bags, etc I've seen yet in a store.
* Weird, but they sell assorted dental tools like mirrors and plaque removers. I hope those are sterilized. Weird!
* Knick-knacks galore, right by the cash registers. If you've been wanting to decorate your office or cubicle, you should definitely check this out.
* Cute cards and touristy postcards (hey, I guess they have to live up to their name)
I love it!
Great Stuff! The owner has branched out and now makes personal trips to Japan for the trendiest things that nobody really needs but loves. Great selection of greeting cards that are unHallmark like.
Tourists and locals frequent this establishment.
So I hate to admit this, but I spend waaaayyyyy too much money at this store. The greatest little toys (smurfs, smurfs, they have smurfs) and action figures. Who can live without the Crazy Cat Lady Action Figure? NOBODY!!!! Seriously, stop in and have some fun.
this is by far the best toy store i have ever been in my entire life. so many little items i want that are so afforadable. where else can i go to buy a toy that only cost $0.12? on the front counter there are all sorts of miniture figurines that i would love to own all of wich is under $1. toys all over the walls and counters! i could visit this place everyday and still have fun wow.
The child and random traveler's gift store of even more random stuff. Great puzzle assortments as well if you're looking for something unusual. Their focus is obviously to get you to purchase at least one thing before heading out. Fantastic candy assortments, very cool brands as well...
Sausalito is a great place to stay for the weekend, just a little ways off from San Francisco. The mood itself is far more relaxed and mellower than SF, and there's some pretty interesting things to be seen here. Sausalito Ferry Co. is one of the cutest places to shop here. If you're a fan of buying your clothes online, you'll definitely love this store. They carry clothing from threadless, oddica, gama-go, emily the strange, and paul frank. There's also a really nice selection of knick knacks, like rubber ducks, Ugly Dolls, pins (gama-go, paul frank, oddica.. and some other random ones), grow your own.. (bf, gf, sister, handyman, etc) , magnets, cards, etc. there's some pretty cute things to be had here.
Four *s because you can find the majority of the clothing online for $5-$11 less.
The buyers for this store never met a tchotchke they didn't like. Apparently every gizmo, gadget, and novelty item ever granted a patent occupies a spot in the shop, which is overflowing with merchandise ranging from the sublimely ridiculous to the surprisingly sublime. Absolutely none of it qualifies as a necessity, and friends and I have managed to waste two solid hours here gleefully sorting through it all, trying to find the oddest, the funniest, and the campiest of the lot. It's a treasure trove of gag gifts for any occasion. A word of warning to parents: bring your children here, and they will want everything. More than once I've seen a frustrated father, his patience sorely tested, drag a screaming youngster begging for 'just one more' out into the street. It's an embarassing scene, as I well know . . . the last time she was in town, my own mother threatened to take the ferry back to the city without me if I didn't leave right that minute.
This place is USELESS ....but I could spend all day in it. I don't know when I'll ever need bacon bandaids, candied g-strings, mini-figurines of Hello Kitty, cards celebrating one's divorce, gum with packaging aimed to test one's sobriety, candied caterpillars, and Paul Frank backpacks. The owner manages to stock the most appealing, but random and useless selection of gifty goods.
As much as I like goofy gift stores, I don't really see a need for them. This place does a fairly good job however. Unlike Spencers or Hot Topic, they actually have a bunch of hard to find toys and crappola-related gifts such as the Jesus Action figure. They have some cute asian toys as well. A nice place to kill half an hour, yet you'll most likely find yourself leaving empty handed.
Don't be fooled by the name, this is actually a really cool store. Slightly touristy? Maybe, but they have some fun and unique figures and displays. A good place to look for one of a kind gift.
Lots of useless, interesting, cute little nifty toys. I just like this place because I found my Golden Poo cellphone charm here. :D
There's absolutely nothing you NEED in here, but you'll probably find at least a few things you WANT. They have plenty of action figures(librarian, cat lady, etc.), tons of Pez, loads of Ugly Dolls, and a great selection of cards. This is a great place to find a gift when you have absolutely no ideas. There is literally something wacky for everyone in here.
Absolutely nothing you need been lots of stuff you just gotta have when you see it. Pez dispensers, rubber duckies, cheeky money t-shirts, cellphone charms, trinkets, nick-knacks and little do-dads. Lots of fun just poking around.
this place is absolutely wonderful.
you can find something for anyone (especially if they have a sense of humor)
i love ridiculous, cute little things, and so i freaked out and dropped $50 before leaving. i'd go back to sausalito for this place.
cute store, i like it! fun and cheeky vibe
This place is like a chunk of ebay shoved into a small touristy store. They do have a whole lot of funky, wacky novelty items. Includes a range of band and tv t-shirts, simpsons wall clocks, tiny naked pink babies, plastic fish and insects, hemp bracelets, greeting cards, football alarm clocks, glowsticks, old tin lunch boxes, etc etc etc
I've been going here since I was 6 years old. They have a lot of imported Japanese stuff, so if you're a Japanophile, this is your store. They have a huge selection of unique/funny/sometimes inappropriate cards for all occasions, clothes, toys, knick knacks. I always go here to pick up little presents for people (great stocking stuffers, little pick-me up gifts, or mini-presents to add to a main gift). This store is definitely a highlight in downtown Sausalito, and much more fun than Games People Play which just feels like a stuffy toy store-cheesy souvenier hybrid.
Cooling down from a bike ride across the Golden Gate, we decided to walk around the quaint downtown Sausalito area. Sausalito is a very pretty town, though dangerously close to the aesthetic of Thomas Kincaid paintings. The shops around here tend to be geared towards the tourist set...a bit of a yawn for twenty-thirtysomething urbanites. Right before I was ready to write off all the shops here I came upon Sausalito Ferry Co. A fun store that has many of the ironic, wiseass novelties of stores like Therapy in the Mission, a lot of the cute tchokes that you would find at Giant Robot, and a penchant for Paul Frank stuff. Cell phone charms, Ugly Dolls, edgy greeting cards, and lots and lots of mini-animals (I am a TOTAL sucker for things in miniature form; see the picture I added)...I lurve it! It's not quite as subversive as stores in SF that sell similar items - after all it is located in a tourist spot - but it is definitely a nice change of pace for this ho-hum downtown shopping area!
