Scheduled an appointment here with my fiance and SIL for a wedding cake tasting. This was also my first tasting ever and it was MUCH better than I imagined. We tried at least ten different cakes...

    + Green Tea
    + Red Velvet
    + Tiramisu
and there were more, but I cannot remember all of the delicious flavors. Please do pay them a visit - just know that they are not cheap but if you can afford the cake, GO for it!!!

    Revew for wedding cake tasting:

I wanted an Asian cake for my wedding because Asian palettes are really different from other people. Most of us prefer desserts to be light and not so sweet. This was my experience at Satura.

    Pros:
    - Free cake
    - Free cup of tea
    - You get to try over 10 different cake flavors
    - Wonderful tiramisu, mango mousse, and strawberry shortcake

    Con:
    - Some cakes are dry
    - Only a few can be made into the actual cake (You have to order sheet cakes of the certain cakes to have the other flavors)
    - The decorations are not as refined as other places
    - The red velvet is not traditional. It has some raspberry in it which makes it a little tart.

Overall, I like about half of the cakes. A lot of them were dry. The ones I did like, I didn't love so I didn't really want to go with them. Their past designs were not as elegant in detail and piping as I would have like.

The woman helping me was nice, but she was not very informative. The cake is pretty pricey just to let you know.

It's wedding cake time, and Satura Cakes was at the top of my places to checkout. I've been a fan of their strawberry shortcake since the University Ave, Palo Alto location (closed awhile back), and I was dead-set on having a strawberry shortcake wedding cake!

Keiko was super responsive and flexible in meeting us for a cake tasting. When she brought out 2 plates full of different cake flavors I had to reconsider my stance on only serving strawberry shortcake. After thumbing through several albums of wedding cake options we realized that we weren't the stuffy multiple tier wedding cake people--a plus because that's the most expensive option! We finally settled on 3 flavors cakes (pre-sliced dessert bar style with a small cutting cake) and tossed in extra cream puffs to the entire order. Doing it this way with small cake slices allowed us to have the cakeage fee waived at the restaurant/reception place! SCORE! Also, if I signed my contract within a week of the tasting, I could get 5% off the entire order. DOUBLE SCORE!

As far as pricing goes, we were prepared for the worst. At a recent wedding I attended, the bride told me that her beautiful 3 tier cake cost over $1k. I am NOT going to spend 1/10th of my entire wedding budget on cake. Once I let Keiko know I was price sensitive, she provided multiple options that could fit our wedding. But I'm an open minded bride, and even considered serving sheet cake (albeit delicious strawberry shortcake) for my wedding! Yes, Satura isn't cheap (i.e. Safeway/Costco), but for the quality of product--they're very VERY reasonably priced.

BTW, the guest count we're aiming for is 90-100 guests. If you have 200+ guests for your wedding...then it's totally possible you could spend over $1k for cake.

Went here for wedding cake tasting. Keiko was extremely nice and friendly. Lots of pictures from previous weddings- although the round cakes for tiers have standard heights- no variations. Tasting includes 10 of their cakes, and Keiko included a complimentary cream puff to go! If you order from here, they will give you a complimentary first year anniversary cake. The tiramisu and classic chocolate mousse were delicious- -- but these can only be served as sheet cakes. They do offer gluten free (yuna), which makes me sad for people who are gluten free because did not like that one as much. Am thinking of getting sheet cake here (very very reasonably priced $222 for 60 servings for sheet cake, otherwise $6/slice for tierred cake). Wasn't as impressed by the sponge cakes that can actually be used in the cake, although the carrot cake, strawberry shortcake and green tea were yummy as well. If you are doing dessert bar, this place would be perfect

Flavors included: Red Velvet, Mango-Coconut Mousse, Carrot Cake, Classic Chocolate, Yuna, Tiramisu, Strawberry shortcake, Mango Passion Fruit, Mango-Passion Fruit with raspberries/red currants, Green Tea, Caramel Mocha, and Chocolate Cream

The reason for the 2 stars is because there were flies inside the pastry counter.  I stopped by there today to get some cookies and as I was picking out my cookies I noticed 4 flies on the cookies in the glass counter.  I told the staff  who was helping me with picking out my cookie about them and he just seems like he didn't care and said he'd get me the one where the flies did not touch.  I still ended up purchasing the cookies because he already took them out.  What concerned me was after I paid I was looking to see if they will take away the cookies or do something about the flies....but no the two staffs just stood there and were talking and laughing and didn't do anything about it at all even though I pointed out to them twice.
I am sure the pastry there is delicious but I think it is pretty gross how they did not take away the cookies with the flies or tried to move out the flies.  I can't imagine what they do with their pastries back in the kitchen.

Many years ago I was a typical Chinese K-12 student taking piano lessons, and my teacher used to get some amazing cake from a place in Los Altos. This year when my dad turned 60, his only request was to have that cake for his birthday cake. I searched Yelp Los Altos and found Satura Cakes, so I made an excursion to pick up an individual serving Satura Strawberry Shortcake to taste test. While in the very crowded store, the Mont Blanc looked so inviting I couldn't help picking one up as well - you know, just in case the shortcake was so dreadful I needed to wash out the taste. That night my parents and I devoured the cakes; they were so delicious I couldn't even slow down to savor the taste.

The cashier who'd rung up my order was extremely helpful with information about placing an order, even telling me that ordering online would get me a 10% discount. To stop myself from licking the plate, I went online immediately to order the 8in shortcake. The day of the party, I picked up the cake without any hassle - just showed the cashier the invoice and she brought it out for me. They'd written Happy 60th Birthday on a piece of chocolate and placed it in front of the fruit arrangement, and placed very pretty silver candy balls around the edges.

When they say "8in", I think they mean the actual cake is 8 inches; with the whipped cream frosting, the whole cake was easily 9, if not 10inches. This cake served 16 with a slice to spare and at least 3 people getting seconds. My family is typically very wary of non-Chinese bakery cakes (they claim American cakes are too sweet). This cake was just the right level of sweetness and the whipped cream was very obviously fresh. For several minutes, the room was filled with people exclaiming over how delicious the cake was.

The cakes are pricey, but they're definitely worth it for special occasions.

This place apparently turns into a pow-wow place for mom's with strollers. Particularly Asian mom's. That's what i saw when I came in here on a weekday afternoon. The place with very crowded and loud with chatter, but luckily there are outdoor seating. Always on the prowl for ideal macarons, I came here to experiment a few. Selections were small. I think there were only 3 flavors or something. I tried two kind. One chocolate and the other was raspberry I think. I also ordered a raspberry ice tea. The tea was definitely refreshing. As for the macarons, not too overly sweet and they weren't hallow and flaky like other places. They had a cookie texture, which is pretty darn delicious to me.

The drinks were a bit pricy, but I definitely have to try their other delectable looking cakes.

I probably should've ordered a cake  ... but nope, macaron & croissant it was!! It's that kind of season when you just want to eat all these fatty foods... *prepares for winter.

Macarons were $2/piece -- steep prices. Picked out the rose, pistachio, coffee, and chocolate. Rose was excellent -- reminded me of 'lettes. The others were rather disappointing in the order of too sweet (chocolate), too dry/brittle (coffee) , too artificial (pistachio). BOO =*( I almost thought the rose was from 'lettes until they told me they made 'em in house.

Croissants were also on the dry side ... has a honey/orange glaze on top which I didn't think went well w/ said croissant. Chocolate danish was okay, nothing memorable. Hard to find a good croissant these days...

Like I said, if I got one of their cakes, maybe this review might've been different... cakes looked really cute and kinda fru fu (aka too pretty to eat) hehe. =P

Tons of free parking in DT Los Altos, though!! Lots of cute shops to check out.

Satura  Cake, how I love thee!

Your macarons are deadly addictive and I cannot get enough of your red velvet cake. I like how your red velvet cake was not over powerfully sweet and the little tartness taste to it was splendid. I also like your tart citron as well because of the lemon cream on top of baked cookie dough. I am very pleased with the dessert and service. I also liked how it is located in downtown Los Altos, such a chill spot to hang out and catch up with friends.

What a great little dessert spot in a lovely downtown area.

I have sampled the peanut butter cookie (fantastic), dark chocolate chip cookie (so- so) the chocolate Soleil cake and the brioche donut.

The cake is phenomenal and the donut is so well made and not greasy or like any other donut. I can't wait to try their many other amazing cakes!

Since I was in Los Altos for a day, I just HAD to try this place.
I got the green tea cream puff ($3), strawberry shortcake($4.50), coffee macaroon ($2), passionfruit macaroon($2), and their muscat tea($2.15)  to top it all off.

I really enjoyed their green tea cream puff. It's so creamy and delicious! It's a nice new twist on the original cream puff. I thought that the green tea cream inside was  the right amount of sweet. It wasn't overpowering, and it was well balanced with the amount of sweetness and the slight bitterness of green tea.

Right now they're having a promotion in stores where it's buy 5 cream puffs for $10. Since it was my first time at Satura, I didn't want to buy so many at once.

I could've done without the strawberry shortcake. I bought it just to try one of their cakes, and I felt like it was pretty ordinary.

And out of the 2 macaroons I tried, I liked the coffee one the best. It took me 3-4 bites to finish each macaroon. The coffee macaroon was so full of flavor, that  I was really happy to have tried it. The jam filling in the inside really turned it up a notch and enhanced the coffee flavor. The passionfruit was okay, I didn't think it tasted anything like passionfruit though.

And while eating all these desserts, I had a nice cup of their decaf muscat tea, which they hand pack themselves.  if you enjoy grapes, you HAVE to try this! The tea was so good, I loved the scent, and it was a really nice complement to the desserts.

I think the next time I come here, I'll just get a few cream puffs and a cup of muscat tea.

    The best wedding cake ever!!

My (now) husband and I tried out a few bakeries before we chose to work with Keiko at Satura. The other cakes were too dry or the icing tasted weird (fondant is kind of gross). When we went to do a cake tasting at Satura, Keiko sat down with us and had TONS of information. She made us lattes which was very classy for a tasting and had foam cake tier-structures so that we 100% knew how large our cake would be which was helpful and a folder of great ideas for the look/feel of the cake. Also, the cakes we chose (red velvet and chocolate mousse) were AMAZING!! Moist and a big hit with our guests. I just ate a piece a month later that was in the freezer and it was still moist!!

I really enjoyed working with them and would 100% recommend them to everyone. A fantastic vendor experience for my wedding. Thanks Satura!!

Excellent pastry. They serve loose tea brewed in a filled-to-order tea bag. The tea selection is a mix of black teas, Japanese green teas and herbal infusions.

I had the mini chocolate danish which was similar to chocolate-filled croissant (not crescent-shaped). It tasted great. If you ask for your pastry warm, they use a small oven, not a microwave. The result is crisp, flakey and buttery. I really enjoy my treats so I space them out and look for places that will do it right. I appreciate the great care in their work.

I also had an almond croissant followed by another. Be prepared for a very enjoyable Sunday treat.

Despite myself, I am a fan.  I first discovered Satura while on vacation in Hawaii and was delighted to find them here in the Bay Area during a pre-move visit.  Now, they are down to 1 location--this one.  In some ways I can see why.  They are pricey.  Generally each bite of cake you take from the slices is at least $1.  I can get an Japanese style mini strawberry shortcake at Clover Bakery in San Jose for a piece of Satura strawberry shortcake.  Clover's mini is at least double the size.  For that price, it better be fresh--but it's not always.  I have gotten pieces where the fruit looks OK, but tastes moldy.  Bleh!  One way to avoid this is to find an excuse to order a cake (which I did). Still pricey, but a stellar dessert for a group any day if you don't mind sharing.

If I don't go fruity, I go for chocolate.  I love the Soleil, which has a crunchy bottom layer--similar to a cake that Miette only makes in the winter, but much heavier.

Another fav is the kouign aman, which are apparently all the rave in SF these days.  I like Satura's version, which is pretty much a croissant that is caramelized on the outside.  Not quite authentic, but still incredibly tasty.  They run out quickly, so if you see one, either buy it or tell them to save it for me!

Finally, stay away from the french macaroons--they are dreadful.  the crust is crunchy and not soft on the inside and despite the color, you cannot necessarily tell it has a flavor other than sweet.

I am very happy with the fondant cake they made for my son's 1st birthday party.  The chef was able to create an octopus and under the sea inspired cake within a week's notice, while most bakeries require at least a month notice.  The strawberry shortcake was delicious.  The red velvet cake is also one of my favorites.

I studied at Satura Cakes a few times a week back in May and I always appreciated the clean cafe, the soft music playing in a non-obnoxious way in the background, and the delicious drinks and desserts. My favorite cake is the coconut mango, followed by the strawberry shortcake. The texture of the cake is perfect and the cream filling or topping is soft and light, not like hard American frosting. Drinks wise, I would not recommend the Chai (go to Coupa for that and get the elephant spice chai). I like the lattes and I always appreciate the designs they draw in the coffees. The chocolate nut cookies with salted borders are my family's favorite cookies, so grab a bag of 3 (or 8!) on your way out.

We love going to Satura Cakes, it is in our neighborhood, and their food and drinks are delicious!!! We always bring our guests there.
We just got married a week ago, and of course we had to order our wedding cake at Satura Cakes.

Keiko is in charge of wedding orders at the cafe, and she is super nice, she fed us those cakes so we could choose the best taste for our special day, she was very specific and careful with all the information she received. She double checked everything a month, a week, and a day before the wedding, she was very excited for us, and she even told us something in Russian (we speak Russian with my husband).
We received a lot of emails with congratulations and nice words from her. She said we are getting a free anniversary cake next year=))

On the wedding day something happened, and there was no topper on our cake=((( The topper that I adored, a dancing couple that was supposed to be on the cake (we were taking dance classes for our wedding). We emailed Keiko right away, and we she offered to bring the topper, but we could not take the suggestion because our wedding was on board the yacht, and instead of cutting the cake at 7 pm, we would have to do it at 9 =((( It would be too late, and some guests would not be there anymore (the cruise was till 9, and then we had an hour at the dock). We decided not to let it ruin our wedding, and to forget about it.
The cake was super tasty and beautiful, everybody loved it!!!!!!

Keiko was very sorry about the topper, she wrote a lot of apologies to us, even in Russian, and Satura cakes refunded us all the money for our wedding cake, and they said we can still come and get our anniversary cake for free next year.

We got our topper, and a check for the whole refund, in the mail two days after our wedding.
I still love Satura Cakes, I think their decision was very professional and correct.
    Thank You Satura Cakes!!!!
    We love you!

Let me just say that if I were basing my review on the cake and the cake alone, Satura would definitely get 4 stars, or maybe even 5.

We met with Keiko for our tasting and immediately hit it off with her. She was very sweet, and the tasting included more than we expected. So many cake flavors! She was very excited right from the start about our ideas for the cake.

A couple of months later, I decided to order a groom's cake as well, after trying to find a different bakery to make it. After all, I knew what flavors my future husband loved, and they said that they would be able to do a version of the design that I wanted. (I had wanted a Tardis cake.)

Fast forward a few months, and it is the Friday before my Sunday wedding. I got an email from Keiko letting me know how excited she was, which was super nice, but when I emailed her back letting her know that we would be by to pick up the groom's cake, she sent me a reply saying that it would not be ready until Sunday. Apparently, there had been a miscommunication and she had thought that I wanted it for the wedding. It wasn't easy letting it go, because I wanted to have it for the rehearsal dinner, but in the end I had to. I canceled the order and moved on.

On Sunday, after a whole lot of other things, I arrived at the reception hall with my new husband, and the party started. About a half hour after it began, my mother came up to me and asked if we expected to feed everyone with the smaller wedding cake that we had chosen. I informed my mother, "Oh, don't worry. We have a sheet cake in the back!" The look on her face told me everything, and it was confirmed by her saying, "Um, no... but don't worry, it'll be okay."

Long story short, my wedding coordinator called and figured out that they had forgotten to bring the sheet cake.

    What, really? No way!

    Yes. Really.

In the end, the wedding was nice, and I had great fun at the reception. However, it sucks that more than half of my guests had left before the cake was cut, seeing as how we needed to wait for the sheet cake in case we ran out of the original wedding cake. There was no need to worry, though. That original wedding cake was barely touched other than for the ceremonial cake cutting. It was truly a waste.

Satura Cakes was alright, and they were nice enough to offer us 50% back, which we gladly took. Also, Keiko felt really bad, and she was super nice to us as well, beyond her duties.

    Bottom line:
Satura Cakes has great-tasting cake flavors and yummy pastries (albeit somewhat pricy), but our experience with them have us being less than enthusiastic about going back to them, or recommending them to other people. Keiko was nice to work with, and without her, we would be walking away totally unsatisfied, and more than just somewhat irked.

My Maid-of-Honor's sister is getting married in September, and they chose Satura Cakes before this whole mess. If they screw that up, I am thinking about reporting it to BBB. It's not like a birthday party, a party that you'll have next year. It's a wedding, and more than likely than not a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

It's almost like a ritual for me now.  Everytime I'm in the area, I would come and get a treat here with a friend.  Our favorite piece is almond croissant.

Having tasted lots of almond croissant at other eateries, I love how they do it here.  It was crispy especially with the baked almond on the top (as well as on the bottom sometimes).  It wasn't too sweet and soggy.  The amount of dough was just right.  After one bite, you want another one.  Embedded in the fluffy layering is the almond paste which adds a bit of sweetness into it.

Their pistachio cookies are also very good.  It's buttery and perfect for an afternoon tea.

The place is not big but not small.  Located at the corner with lighting (Starbucks I did wish their lighting was better. it's way to dark in there for me for some reasons).  So if you want a morning treat, you can come here.

They are not famous for their coffee but if you want to have a treat, it is definitely worth the money and ...consuming more carbohydrate than you probably need to.

I really want to fall in love with this place but I just can't. The ambiance is great. Satura cakes is a cute little cafe in downtown Los Alto. Excited by the eye catching display filled with all kinds of beautiful pastries, I was ready to be impressed.

After a few bites into my tiramisu, I was perplexed. It was a very different version of the stapled Italian dessert. This tiramisu tasted no different from just any chocolate cakes. What happened to the liquor and coffee? Left a bit underwhelmed, I continued onto their signature Satura Cake (Strawberry shortcake). I could no longer contain my disappointment. The cake has a good light and puffy texture but the strawberry later is paper thin with barely any bites of the fresh fruits. Is this really the cake that everyone raved about? Their champagne and raspberry chocolate were good if you are into milk chocolate. I found them too sweet and the cocoa flavor is almost nonexistent. The macarons were the better of all. The texture was right and the filling was distinctive. Although they still hardly compare to those from Pamplemousse in RWC.

Although I am a big fan of lighter and more delicate Asian desserts, pastries at Satura were just too mellow and unfulfilling. Perhaps I really should have came here earlier for the cream puffs.

    - 4 different kinds of mini cakes (Yuna, Red Velvet, Tiramisu, Mango Coconut Mousse),
    - 2 kinds of cream puffs (green tea and vanilla), and
    - 6 flavors of macarons (passion fruit, rose, citron, chocolate, coffee, pistachio)
    - we also got a 6" red velvet cake for us to cut.

We worked with Keiko from our tasting to the final contract, and she was very prompt and thorough in her responses.  We had initially chosen some additional cakes in the mango passion cream with red currants.  When they could no longer import these red currants from France (this is what we were told), Keiko promptly notified us.  The delivery and set up on the day-of went well without a hitch.

The best part of all this is - we get another 6" red velvet cake as our 1-year anniversary gift for free!  We are definitely looking forward to it!

This place is a little out of the way for me and the drive rounds to about 20 minutes. With that being said, I will still make the trip to taste their highly impressive cakes, which are just the right amount of texture and flavor. I highly recommend the mango mousse cake and the strawberry shortcake.
Also note that if you want to buy a cake that serves more than 6 people, you will have to special order it. They only carry 6-person cakes in the case.

Satura Cakes is a bakery/patisserie/cafe located in downtown Los Altos.

The space is bright and welcoming.  Cafe tables inside and out are filled with patrons, pastrys and espresso.  Illuminated glass cases hold trays of pastries of all varietys.  Many are interesting and not your everyday cookie, cupcake or pettifour.  These desserts run the gamut from typical to unexpected.  All appear perfectly presented to entice you to buy them all.

I tried the tarte citron.  It was magnificent.  It was like the best lemon bar I've ever had.  It was topped with a little cream and a candied lemon slice.

The desserts here are magnificent and you pay the price of their perfection. However, most are less that $5 which you would pay for a some crappy dessert cake at Applebee's or Chili's and wouldn't you rather have something glorious instead of frozen and adequate?  I know I would.

    Amazing.
I must say the cream puffs here are amazing. I love beard papas but i think satura has it way better! Its moist and crunchy and the custard is sooo good. I can eat it alllllll dayy!

Also I have all the mini pastries. The strawberry shortcake, los altos roll, tiramisu, peche lily, classic chcolate. Their all my favorite. Depending on my mood but, their all GREAT!
I defiantly want to buy their cakes

I would recommend this place to ANYONE.

    Green tea cream puffs?

    5 flavors of macarons?

My indecisiveness left me 100 lbs heavier.

Green tea cream puffs.  I die.  Perfect pastry shell with a luxurious creamy green tea filling.  So much better than Beard Papa's.

The best macarons in the South Bay. One does not need to drive all the way to SF for macarons anymore.   Perfect almond cookies, not too dense nor too crispy.  Delicous buttercream filling, not too sweet, and perfectly flavored.  Loved the passionfruit, raspberry/chocolate (valentine macaron).

My wife and I got our wedding cake here, and it is really our favorite wedding bakery out of all the ones we tried.  Being Asian, we tend to like out cakes lighter and less sweet. Satura's flavors were perfectly suited for this.

I think they do a much better job with fruit cakes here than their chocolates, but my wife likes both of them. I do have one complaint about their otherwise wonderful cakes, which is sometimes their lines and finishes could use a bit of a touchup.

One worthy thing of note is for wedding cakes, you can save a ton by getting a smaller cake to cut and sheet cakes in the back. This also allows you to have multiple flavors. My wife and I saved about $500 for 200 guests this way.

My americano was a little disappointing but the orange brioche I had was pretty darn amazing!  Normally I'm not a huge fan of baked goods such as these but somehow I know I'll be back for more!

After hearing that Satura closed down in PA, I made my friend venture out with me to the new Satura in Los Altos. Of course he could not say no to my puppy dog eyes, so we drove out to grab some desserts. To my dismay, they did not have the dessert cake cups. I loved those. We picked up a few pieces of cake, mango and strawberry and they tasted just as I had remembered. Great dessert spot nonetheless. Either eat there or pick up.

A Japanese Cake shop. That was new to me. With too many beautiful sweets to choose from, I stood there for a good 10 minutes before deciding what I wanted. In a perfect world, I'd be able to sample everything in the glass counter for the week. In reality, I had $15 to spend on goodies with less than 1 hour on the clock.

Their Cream Puffs are too die for although kind of high priced I can't resist!  Also extra yummy is the Strawberry Cheesecake and Chocloate Decadence.

Let me start out by saying, I'm not a big dessert person.

Occasionally, I'll get a hankering for something that's neither savory, nor alcoholic, okay who am I kidding?  I always want something that's savory AND alcoholic!

Anyway, I thought I'd be a good guy and bring home a selection of treats.  Little did I know it'd be me that would wrestle them away from their intended recipients.

The Lemon tart (http://www.foodspottin...) was really nice.  Not too heavy, with just enough citrus kick.  The Soleil (http://www.foodspottin...) was also light for having so much chocolate and hazelnut.  For overall presentation though, I think the Berry Rouge (http://www.foodspottin...), quite literally, takes the cake.

The only drawback for Satura, is that it's directly across the street from my office, and since they're open from 8am - 8pm, I feel I'd never leave

Satura Cakes is a quaint little place.  I like the ambience; it's perfect for a little break, or a study session - though, if you choose the latter option, there is a possibility you may pick at a couple desserts and gain that holiday weight you never want - no matter the time of year...sigh.

I have a soft spot for tiramisu, so take it with a grain of salt when I say I really like it...

The shortcake is soft, delicate, amazing.  Ah.

The green tea cream puffs...ok, don't cyber-kill me, but I think they're alright.  I'd give them 4 or 4.5 stars out of 5.  I'm sorry, I just think that a flavor as delicate as green tea should be enhanced, and not overwhelmed by sweetness.  Other than that, the shell was wonderful, and the cream...creamy!  Yay.

Now, to the people.  Keiko is very sweet.  This place took part in two of the weddings in which I participated, and I've found her to be very pleasant.  Happy face.

Some guy (tall-ish, Asian, and a permanent apathetic look on his face) in there, however, was not particularly pleasant.  I like places that have friendly workers, people who greet and at least reciprocate a simple upward mouth twitch when dealt a smile.  This cashier did not exactly fit my criteria.  When he finished packing my order, i took the bag, but had a little trouble figuring out how to carry the box (it's justified; I had other stuff to carry).  Instead of offering to help, or even standing there patiently, he muttered, "I can just put it on the table."  Chalk it up to PMS, but I thought that was a little rude.  Unhappy face.

As for the pricing...let's let my wallet recuperate.  Case closed.

All in all, deserves a 4 or 4.5 for the goods, but taken down a notch for...unpleasantries.  Sorry!

Enough have been said about their cream puffs and strawberry shortcake that I won't belabor myself. This review is about macarons!

I picked up half a dozen last week, a flavor each. They are light and airy with just a thin crisp crust, but it's the fillings that got my attention. Flavorful and chewy, but not too sweet that your teeth hurts. Yum yum yum~

I have no idea how authentic these little cookies are compared to their French counterparts, but with most baked Japanese goods, I see the deviations as improvements.

Also love their puffy marsh mellows, pricey but worth every penny :-)

I've always enjoyed buying small cakes from Satura. They have a great passion fruit and mango mousse cake. I gave them a shot for my wedding.

Cake was one of the most important parts of my wedding. Above anything, I wanted to make sure it tasted good. I hate going to weddings and eating cardboard flavored cake. I started the cake search almost immediately after getting engaged (so a good year before the wedding) The original coordinator was nice, not the most helpful, but she was definitely nice. She was there during a transition phase between permanent coordinators, but I was immediately sold on the cake so I put my deposit down.

About two months before my wedding, I got an email from the new coordinator, Keiko, who is AMAZING. She actually clarified a lot of things that the girl before didn't. (The fact I could have a five tiered cake when I was originally told three). Keiko had some great ideas, studied my wedding invitations and sent me drawings to see what I would like. I gave her my feedback and put my faith in her and the chef. I ended up with a five tiered, offset cake with three different flavors. It was GORGEOUS! The decorations on the cake resembled my invitations and fit perfectly with the nature-like theme of my wedding.

I had passion fruit, red velvet and carrot cake and oh man, they were DELICIOUS. The cake wasn't dried out like some wedding cakes, it was moist and definitely fresh. I was so incredibly happy with the cake and really happy I put my faith in Keiko's ideas and the chefs.

I highly recommend Satura cakes for any occasion. But if you're shopping around for cakes and aren't sure, definitely think seriously about them. I went on many MANY cake tastings and they aren't ridiculously more expensive. They're actually on the better end for price for something of their quality and Keiko is great to work with as she is patient and full of good ideas. Words cannot describe how beautiful and delicious the cake was. Satura was always a suggestion for birthday cakes for friends and family, but they just sealed the deal. I will always provide cakes for occasions and those cakes will always come from Satura.

Goodness, this little cake shop never fails to make me drool.

We came back again in attempts to try the cream puffs, unfortunately on a saturday by 3pm, their long gone! I'm still dying to try these bad boys.

Meanwhile, the Chef's Special (about $4.25)..... AMAZING! The perfect blend of lemon cream and Chocolate tart with raspberries and pieces of white chocolate. Seriously, I'm gonna faint from this deliciousness.

Red Velvet Cupcake - super appealing and cute. with the cream cheese cream consisting of streaks of red. Very rich, soft and moist. They know their cakes.

    - The cake shop is always clean.
    - Very accessible parking.
    - Outdoor seating available.

    pure mouthgasm.
