YAY!! Gel nails at their best. I recently had a very bad gel nail botch job elsewhere. Sarah fixed them in about an hour. She took great care with my hurting hands. I have extremely thin natural nails, so we were afraid to remove the bad nails because it might rip off the tiny thin layer they left at the last place. She was able to make them look great with a layer of polish. We are going to have to wait for the old ones to grow out before we can start doing my pretty pink and whites again. My nails are now smooth, even, thinner and more natural looking than I have ever had. She even actually shaped them the way I asked for, stopping after the first to ask several questions about how she was doing and what she could do better. It's obvious that she cares about customer satisfaction.
I see in a few other comments people raise the issue of price. Yes, she is more expensive than the mall, but the quality far surpasses the difference. I have paid half and double her prices before and I have never had such beautiful hands.
Also, she fired the bad pedicurist, as she was not up to Sarah's high standards. I got a fantastic super relaxing pedicure with Kim (?) while I waited to get my nails done. The wait was entirely my fault, as I showed up 1/2 hour early for my appointment, but I was done with my other errands and it wasn't worth it to go home. She was done with her previous client and ready for me at my exact appointment time, but let me finish my relaxing pedicure in peace.
Also, +++++ for how clean everything was.
I have a new favorite place!! I'll be seeing you Sarah! (Oh, and her name is Sarah, and her daughter's name is Sarah. Obviously, she has great taste in names and nails!) -

Sarah is amazing! She is the master of pink and white. Ive been going to Sarah for 10 years. Instead of using the motor pen the whole time, she takes time to file your nails down with a nail file so your nails beds stay healthy.
Best part- they last me three weeks!! -

New favorite nail place! Sarah is very talented and makes you feel so welcome in her salon. She has an amazing array of colors and works fast. She is open by appointment only, but believe me its worth the wait!

I'm really sorry, I would love to love this place. But...my pedicure is awful. There's paint all over my toes, its smeared...they changed people who were doing my pedicure 1/2 way through and I think that had something to do with it. But for $40 for mani/pedi, I really do hope for something better.
On the plus, the mani is fine. -

Sarah's Nail Salon is FABULOUS!!!! She does an amazing gel manicure that lasts a whole month. I feel like a million bucks when I leave. The salon is unpretentious yet clean and there isn't that incessant chatter that you normally get at nail salons.
Go to Sarah, you will not be disappointed! -

Sarah's Nail Salon used to be located in Burlingame, but she relocated to downtown San Mateo this past Fall.
Sarah does the BEST gel nails EVER. For whatever reason, my gel nails NEVER lift or chip when she does them. She also does them thin, so they look extremely natural. They are also very strong, even when they've grown out. Her prices are a bit higher than average but they are definitely worth it!
I highly recommend you to try Sarah. She's super fast at what she does, a clear sign of extensive experience in the field. Make sure you specifically request to only have Sarah do your nails though --- one of her gals did a pedicure for me once and didn't do a good job at all. So if you're looking for a pedi, you might want to look elsewhere, as I've never seen Sarah do pedi's for customers; it seems to always be her employees who do those. -

Sarah is a sweet gal and she does a great job with gel nails. I stopped going to her for two reasons: 1. She charges more than the average nail salon and 2) She would burn and cut me with the electric filing tool. If you can endure the price and pain, then she's worth it.

Sarah does the best gel nails-I refuse to get them done anywhere else. All the pedicures I have gotten have been very neatly done and the color lasts for weeks. The foot massages are always nice too!
If you are having trouble deciding a color, just ask Sarah, she always knows which colors are "in"!

Sarah's Nail salon offers the best GEL nails that last forever. Her method is unique and does not require too much shaving off your own nails (only the tip) and GEL finish. They look natural and they're really strong.
Always ask for Sarah the owner, she does a fabulous job and you'll love it. -

I went to Sarah for about 3 months after having my nails done elsewhere for 10 years. She did a nice job on my nails, doing permanent french gel which I am not a huge fan of but overall a good job. Her pricing is really high though so I am visiting another salon in the area that is a bit more reasonable.

I have been getting manicures and pedicures for YEARS - all over San Mateo and Burlingame, and have NEVER been as impressed with a place as I have been with Sarah Nails. Sarah (the owner) is a true professional - cute and perky, she is efficient, friendly and very, very talented. My gel nails used to need replacement every 10 days (I'm VERY hard on them!), but with Sarah, I go an entire MONTH - no lie!! Her products are first-rate, her work is truly gorgeous - and she "gets" her clients - she didn't force me to move beyond my shortish nails - she just made them look beautiful.
I HIGHLY recommend Sarah for any of your nail needs - she's amazing!! -

Love this place! Sarah is great - nails last a month and look natural, not like dragon nails! Pink and white gel is the best. This is the best place I have ever had my nails done, and I have been getting them done for over 20 years - keep up the good work!

I have been to Sarah's Nail Salon twice. The first time was a very pleasant experience for a quick polish change. Today was my second and last time. Unfortunately for me, Sarah was not there. I came for French pedicure and a manicure. The pedicure was fine, nothing special. The manicure, on the other hand, was atrocious! All I wanted was to have my nails filed and my cuticles trimmed. I am not sure why I didn't say anything during the manicure, I think I was in denial, but I left with my cuticles chopped up and bloody. In my opinion, there are better salons around, especially for $50. Anyone looking for a great nail salon should try Universe Nails on 25th Avenue. I usually go there and clearly should have gone there again today.
