I am constantly on the go.
I need a hair regime that works with me rather than against me and I think I finally found it.... it might be much to call Sarah Mya a miracle worker... but if the shoe fits!
she is like a fairy godmother with a pair of shears!
i have never had a hairstylist proactive enough to bring examples of her ideas to an appointment... and yet she still remained open to brainstorming while suggesting the most flattering options for me...
and of course we all like to be flattered.
and let's face it, when random men feel the need to tell me i have a cute hairstyle as i walk by AND also elicit the agreement of those around.... well, that's just magical!
So, my hair is naturally a kinda drab brown, so I decided to highlight it a few years ago. I was horrified by how the texture of my fine, silky hair was noticeably coarsened -- what would it look like after a few years of this stuff? Is drab brown but healthy and shiny better than pretty color but dull? Then, I started reading about all them chemicals we're exposing ourselves and our environment to, and really started thinking about going back to my drab (and now graying) hair.
But then, Sarah Mya saves the day! She uses this new kind of color that is very low on the chemicals and very gentle on the hair. For real. It doesn't change my hair texture noticeably, and it's supposedly safe for pregnant women to use too since it's low on the chemicals. My hair is still shiny and soft and now also a lovely color. I pay slightly more than I did previously for a color, but I think the small additional amount is well worth it to save my hair.
Oh, and Sarah Mya herself it awesome. She actually studies up on all the chemistry of the color, and REALLY knows what she's talking about. Apparently she teaches coloring too. And she really listens to me, so I always end up with exactly what I want.
I had just moved to SoMa and found Sarah online - based off some reviews on http://citysearch.com. My hair and style were simply average. Step in, Miss Sarah Mya and voila! I get compliments all the time, even when my hair grows out into a different look. Also, I'm more daring and bold with my look (I got bangs and went chin length - all that from long layered locks with no bangs) because I trust her completely.

She gave me the best hair cut I have ever had and now my mom and friend go to her. She has revived their color without damaging their hair! I highly recommend Sarah.
Have you ever had a hair experience where you realize that while you imagine yourself to be a wild and crazy girl you don't actually want a retro 80's hairstyle. Superhero to save the day! Sarah Maya. She is the queen of hair color fixing, I didn't really want bright pink perhaps a more staid magenta would suit? Lets fix that weird wanna be haircut and get it to look half way decent? No actually it was fixed to fantabulousness and she has managed to ellicit curls from my dead straight hair with no chemicals. Go figure. She listens and produces a style that I'm happy every time. Short to long still satisfied. I've followed her for years.
Sarah Mya has been doing my hair for eight years and I have never once been tempted to be unfaithful. She's that good. I'm usually indecisive about my hair and she's really great at helping me figure out what I want and what will be flattering, but she also asks for my feedback and makes sure I leave with hairstyle that makes me happy. She's also a supergenius with color and really makes the color and the cut work well together. And to top it all off, she's a warm and down-to-earth person and her salon space is really cute and inviting. I highly recommend her!
