I have had one good pizza there and three below average ones. They lack a consistent pizza. Very mushy pizza bottom. I have tried to like this place but it comes short. They always it will be ready in 15 minutes and it was always 30 minutes when it was done. Update......tried a pizza on super bowl Sunday for 9.99 and was much better than the other I had before. Good news they may have listened to the prior reviews.

Not the best pizza I've ever had.

We go down to my aunt's beach condo every few months and we like to try new places to eat.  We decided to order pizza on Friday night and there happened to be a brochure for Santino's in the condo...so we gave it a shot.  Unfortunately we missed.

I wouldn't say that the pizza is gross, because it's not gross...it's just not very good.  My friend described it best when he said "it looks like it was run over by a truck." It was greasy, flat and very average, if not below.  The garlic puffs were okay, but again, average.

I will say that they delivered very quickly when other places in the area have either made us wait or just not delivered to us at all.

    Meh...I've had better.

My son and I go to Oceanside every summer, and since money was tight, I did some research on good deals for meals.  I saw that Santino's had a great lunch special, 2 slices of cheese or pepperoni and a drink for $5.95.  So when we were downtown one day, we popped in for lunch.  Since the slices were huge, we shared one special.  The pizza was EXCELLENT!  Reminded me a lot of the pizza I grew up eating in South Jersey.  Thinner, just so chewy crust, tasty cheese and sauce, like a slice of home.

I met the owner who is a lovely woman.  She was very friendly and seemed genuinely appreciative of the feedback we gave her.

We liked the pizza so much we had a whole pie delivered to our vacation condo a few nights later.  We will DEFINITELY make Santino's one of our traditions when we return to Oceanside.

    Good pizza.

I do love pizza and this is a place i go back to, it is in a nice location, they have decent deals for the value. The pizza has a crispy bottom and soft crust, the ingredients are good.

I would stop here before / after a movie or when heading down to the pier. The staff is very friendly.

This small place with a mom-and-pop feel was nearly empty, just four more patrons, eating and watching a football game, when my family stopped in this Sunday afternoon.  "It was awesome," my kid declared, as he dug into-and-devoured  his pepperoni pizza.  This Declaration by the higher authority and the fact that the joint was relatively clean, with well stocked and neatly arranged paper/plastic supplies and a friendly blond (though it doesn't matter) face at the counter, all together, was enough for this place to earn the coveted KID'S BADGE OF APPROVAL or "KBA".

The KBA seal, however, was tempered by my own selection -- The OVP pizza (or Oceanside Vegetarian Pizza).  OVP had a nice well-oiled, garlic-y crust and sauce with farmer's fresh flavors of basil, red bell peppers and onions.  Sun-dried tomatoes and mushrooms were also supposed to be somewhere in there, can't remember if I tasted much of them.  But, artichoke and feta -- I got to kick myself, now, in my shins, hard -- why, I did not say, "hold one of those, please."  How in this world, salt and sour can go together (!) except if it is toffee.

Yes, it was a TOFFEE pizza.  English tea anyone!!

Prices: Medium pizza $13-14, Large is $16-17

Our favorite place to stop after going to the movies.  The slices are big and the crust is yummy.  My only complaint is that it appears they use crushed pinapple for their Hawaiian style pizza which is kinda yuck but other than that the food is fantastic.  Give it a try! 2 slices and a coke for $5.50 + tax.

I wish they would stay open til 10 on Thursdays when the street fair is also going on.  I was sad that they were closed when our movie let out around 9pm last night.

We were staying nearby at the Wyndham Oceanside and had a hungry bunch, the online ordering seemed to be too complex so just called and were happy when the delivery made it to our room in 25 minutes or so!! One suggestion to Pizza places is send crushed peppers with them all the time!  Especially when delivering to hotels and resorts.  Obviously our delivery kid did not have them, but we were so famished we lived through it.  Pizzas were good seemed a little pricey spent $50 for an Xl and a L with a few toppings on each, also had an antipasto salad which was a medium sized salad.  It was great pizza reheated the next night also..

Whoa. This is mediocre. The menu is misleading and describes some extravagant and healthy sounding meals...instead you get small pizzas covered in greasy and grease-soaked toppings. And you have to wait about an hour plus just to have it delivered...

    No bueno in my book!

$5.50 for 2 slices and a drink?  Very good.
Their pizza was surprisingly tasty.  I wasn't expecting much, my friend and I were just wandering around Oceanside for some cheap food and happened upon this deal.
The pizza's crust was great!  Very soft and chewy, not that greasy texture you get from other pizza places like Pizza Hut.

Overall:  I enjoyed my 2 slices, but their red pepper wasn't very spicy... which was odd to me.

Eh, I'm not really feelin' this place. It's not bad, but it also didn't wow me very much. The restaurant is in the corner of a small shopping plaza. It's a pretty bare pizza parlor; a couple seats, tables, and a pizza counter. I came by this place because of an awesome $25 off for $10 coupon from Groupon. After everything was said and done, I spent about 18 bucks total (tax + 20% tip)  on 2 large, premium topping pizzas. In reality, the pizzas were more like a medium. I think the large was probably 14" diameters. I guess that's okay, since I am trying to slim down. I went with the Semper Pie (the works) and Classic Margarita Pizza. The Semper Pie had generous portions of toppings and not too saucy. The crust that they use is a little thinner and chewier than other places. I wasn't a fan of their Margarita pizza though. It lacked the fresh basil taste and it seemed a bit overwhelmed with cheese. Overall, this place was just okay. They definitely have great slice meal deals though, so it's definitely a great place to come for a quick lunch.

    A little about my credentials:
I first got into cooking & food when I was in college. After being rejected by numerous girls and getting zero action, I decided it was time for a change. I needed a new makeover to boost my geeky, engineering image. I applied for a cooking position at a Mediterranean-Italian  Restaurant near my home and learned to cook all sorts of pastas and dishes. I never became a professional chef, but I continue to enjoy & love food. 8 years later and 55 lbs heavier, I am now an engineer that travels all over the world trying new foods and learning about different cultures.

The Pepperoni pizza was really good. It is one busy area, though, the amount of people in the place at one time is very small. I like it. I could order a slice, grab my stuff from the cleaners and have a good afternoon.

This place is nice when you don't want chain pizza. It's close to our house and they deliver so that is even better. The lunch special is great. The Pier Puffs are AMAZING! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that delivery can take over 2 hours!

Okay, so I have a small dog and pretty much all fast food restaurants in oceanside would let me take her inside while I place my order.. Didn't think this place would be different. I walked in today, and the blonde girl who works there and happened to be right at the door as I was entering was rather loud and rude when telling me that dogs are not allowed inside, even if it was just for one minute. I would have appreciated it if she had been nicer about it or not too loud. I really didn't want everyone to know that I am being kicked out!! Fine, if that's their rules, I asked her if I can just give her my order instead of walking to the register myself. I asked for 2 plain cheese slices and a diet coke, and then waited outside. I was really happy when I she gave me my food 2 minutes later (super quick!) but she forgot my diet coke. I told her that she forgot my diet coke, and she came back with a bottle of water?!?!!?! fine! I just wanna eat! Pizza crust was really good. thin and not greasy. but there was NO cheese on one slice it was like eating plain bread., the second slice had cheese on only half of it. I wonder if they picked the slices with the least cheese because of the "dog" situation? hmm. and both slices were not warm enough, I guess that explains why I had my food within minutes of ordering.
what a disappointment. this pizza had potential and if it weren't for blondie, I would have definitely given it a second chance. what happened to customer service??

Went here and ordered a Antipasta Salad and a large Little Italy pizza. Salad was big but short on toppings, pizza was great but missing the meatballs on it.  There was only one shaker of red pepper flakes in the whole place and everyone was going table to table asking if they could use it. The pizza crust is what made this place great but they need to pay closer attention to the details to make this place even better. Will I return? Maybe, maybe not.

Love this place! They have one of the best BBQ Chicken pizzas I've ever had and we've just recently started ordering the Pizza Renae (chicken, artichoke, pesto, mozzarella) which is just great.  Their pizzas are creative and the crust is fabulous- crisp and just a little chewy.  Really like that they have Fat Tire on tap too although I wish their liquor license included the outdoor patio.  The only bummer pizza we've ever had there was their pepperoni- kinda weird since it's such a simple pizza- but the fancy dancy pizzas totally make up for that.

We stopped by Santino's a while back and ordered a couple of slices of pepperoni and it was actually pretty good.  Maybe a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10.  So we took a menu home with us and started placing some orders.

Overall, not too bad - the first pizza was okay.  Very fast service and friendly staff.  Unfortunately, the last two pizzas we ordered were horrific.  They were so bad we threw them into the trash after having just two slices.  In fact, the pizza was so bad, we thought maybe it was a fluke or something.  So we ordered another one a few weeks later - it was worse!

The final pizza was the nail in the coffin for them as far as we are concerned as customers.  We've now wasted over $40 on their pizzas.  I don't know what they did to the last one, but it was so bad that it has taken away both our appetites for pizza for the last several weeks.

With that said, their Pier puffs are very good.  Their cheese bread sticks are so, so.

We had been very excited about them, but again, with the last two pizzas - something was wrong with them or something.  It was like they were raw or something.  In one case, we ordered sun dried tomatoes and it appeared they ran out on our pizza.  They just chopped up some raw tomatoes and threw them all over the pizza - WTF?  Are you kidding me?  It was horrible.  The pizza didn't even seem cooked all the way.  It was so bad that after each having a slice we threw the rest into the trash.  I darn near called them to complain and get our money back, but we didn't feel like hassling with it over $20.

We probably won't be going back anytime soon, which is a shame because they started out really strong.  However, we are not willing to risk any more of our money on a restaurant that can't cook a decent pizza.  If you go there, stick to the peir puffs (which are very good) or maybe order the pizza by the slice.  Ordering a full pizza with more than a single topping is a recipe for wasting money as near as I can see.  Maybe they recently changed cooks or something.. who knows - all I can say is that there's no way these people eat their own pizza.. anything beyond the pepperoni is terrible.

Really fresh tasting.  Very unique menu choices.
We had the Calypso pizza and loved it.

My wife loved the crust.  A nice crisp chewiness.

Don't be fooled by the fact that is looks like a part of the strip mall and theater.  It tastes a lot better than the outside store looks.  The customer service is great too.  Real friendly people.

Their pizzas are a bit overpriced compared to the competition, but we still decided to order.  Got one large pizza for $24 incl. pizza, delivery and tip, so it was a bit expensive. However their toppings and sauce selection was much better than pizza hut etc. We were VERY disappointed at the amount of toppings. It was so minimal that it felt like we were just eating the pizza without the toppings (we only ordered 3 veggie toppings). If only they could improve the amount (quantity) of toppings, I would order from them again.

Their pizzas are not at all greasy and are on the healthier side (less oil, grease). So good job on that.

Will try ordering again after they read this review. Hope they make it better in the future. They are one of the few specialty pizzas in the area.

I'm usually a "Pepperoni" Pizza kinda guy because; 1) you can never go wrong with pepperoni and; 2) I really like Pepperoni Pizza. However, my wife is anti pepperoni and likes to order the unusual (i.e. BBQ chicken, artichoke on white sauce, etc...; artichoke pizza, come' on) and sometimes wins-out on the order menu much to my chagrin. This time she won and we ordered a specialty pizza at this place, she compromised by including some meat on the pizza. Well, let's just say I'm glad she won because the "specialty" pizza we ordered was exceptional and if I ever visit Santino's again I will for sure order one of their specialty pizzas again. I will probably order a slice of pepperoni on the side so I can at least try it and compare it to other pizza joints.

The pizza here is delicious.  Every time I walk to the movies I smell the fresh baked pies and I have to grab a slice before I go.  The crust reminds me of pizza back home - the perfect balance between chewy and crunchy.  There are great "normal" pizzas like the red white and green margherita or the three cheese, but my favorites are the calypso (caribbean jerk chicken) and the tailgate (spicy Italian sausage).  If you live in north county or are just at the beach for the day, you gotta try this place.
