There is only one place I will order pizza from - this is that place. I cannot recommend the pizza, staff and service highly enough so I give it SIX STARS down here.

I bought one of Santonio's Lunch Specials for $7.50 (before tax). The #5: Big slice of pizza, small salad, and a drink. I got tow toppings for the pizza and that increased the price too.
Nothing great here. The pizza was reheated cheese with the toppings added on before reheating. The salad, while very large for a small, had been kept in the refrigerator a little too long. Nothing wrong, just not very fresh.
There are so many good pizza places around that Santino's just seems to be a little tired. -

Studio City, CA
Had lunch there the other day because they won a "Best Of" poll recently.
I'm Italian and I've had pizza everywhere, including Italy (still the best pizza btw).
I have to say that the pizza and salad here were totally average and maybe even below average. The pizza sauce was way too thick and spicy. The crust and cheese weren't too bad but not enough to make up for the sauce.
The salad was just lettuce covered with vinegar?
So far the best pizza and salad I've found in the San Fernando Valley is Caioti Pizza Café in Studio City. Try them and you'll never go back to Santino's. My search for something better continues. -

I am a born and raised New Yorker, and it has been a long hard road trying to find great pizza out here in Southern California!
I mean, I've been to Hollywood, to the Valley and I was sure I would always have to go back to Woodside, Queens to get a"real" slice! But, I finally found what I've been looking for! It took a few years, but while hanin' out in a little(but briliant) recording studio, across the street form a cool bar, there they were! SANTINOS!! They are far from my home in Sunland, but whenever me and my man, or friends want pizze, we will not order Dominos from around the corner! We go get a few pies from Santinos and I am always so happy! -

Awesome pizza place! Friendly fast service. We have only ever picked up from here because the first time I ordered on-line I mistakenly hit "pick up" instead of delivery. The other night we stopped in, ordered and waited. Perfect neighborhood place to walk to, dine in or bring home.

Authentic tasting NYC pizza pie. Simple tomato and basil is excellent!
Parking is easy -- find it on the street. I would eat here more often if it were a little closer to home. -

We found this place a couple of weeks ago while looking for a local pizza place to eat at before a movie.
And wow, what a find!
I've been to New York, I've been to Chicago, and I've been to Italy...and this definitely ranks way up there!!
The restaurant is super casual and teeny tiny, perfect for a quick bite or take out. The lady that takes the orders is so sweet and kind, always checking to see if we're satisfied. Prices are very fair for the quality you're getting.
Highly highly recommend it. Try the "Reggina Pizza" :) We had it two Fridays in a row! -

The person who took my order on the phone was incredibly friendly, listened to what I wanted (garlic chicken pizza) and then suggested something better (the house roasted garlic and chicken pizza with spinach and white sauce). Pizza arrived in about 30 minutes and is absolutely delicious. Even the spinach. I was really impressed because I rarely ever like spinach, but this spinach was not overcooked and soggy-- it was perfect.
This review should be taken with a grain of salt, since I was desperate and starving by the time I actually thought to order food. -

LOVE Santino's....as a tried and true New Yorker this is the best pizza we've found in LA so far. Their pizza, calzones, and sandwiches are excellent. Cannoli was extremely disappointing, which shocked us because everything else is excellent. It was still partially frozen when it was served and had lots of coconut in it (? my Sicilian grandmother is gasping right now), that aside....our absolute favorite spot in the valley for pizza!

For me, this is the best pizza I've tried in LA. Don't ever bother with a big chain pizza like Dominos or Pizza Hut - this is where the good stuff is at.
Havent been here in a couple of months, so I'm a little worried by the recent reviews so I guess its time to try it out again!
Lovely couple that own the joint too.... -

What happened to Santino's? Wow from neighborhood gem to neighborhood nada mas. I remember when Santino's would have no seating, and I'd have to wait 20 minutes just to get my call through (they only have 1 or 2 lines). They had 5 Star Pizza. Great NY Taste. Thin and Tasty.
Well UPDATE- This past Sunday at 6.45pm - I ordered my Sausage / Mushroom Extra Thin and WELL DONE. With no problem getting through on first try. Hmmm.
I arrived to pick it up 20 min later. - Normally no parking and it is jammed on Sunday night. However this past Sunday at 7pm The place was dead empty. Not one diner. I picked up my Sausage / Mushroom Exrta Thin crust . BUT MAJOR PROBLEM - Ooops. They gave me a Thick Crust PEPPERONI / Mushroom. When I complained. She said "Oh. Do you want to wait for new pizza....., you know know I'm human and Its just a mistake." Yes she was right it was a mistake. Not even "sorry". The pizza tasted like cheese "flavored" cardboard. So bad it was not worthy of leftover and 2/3 ended up in trash. If this mistake was offered to me as free, it would've been a bad deal.
I wont make the same mistake again. That was the last thick crust flavorless pizza I'll get from Santino's.
Please bring back the old chef! -

San Jose, CA
Their slices misrepresent what this place is. I guess when you order a whole pizza, it's NY style but the slices are nothing like it. They give you two small slices and call it 1/4 of a pizza. Okay. Fine. Luckily, it was really good. Their super-thin crust is great, the pizza was greasy (a good thing, when it comes to NY style), and their sauce had a lot of flavor to it.

My experience may qualify for one of the few 'zero star' reviews....
Like many of you Yelpers, I was in the need for a delivery place in my neighborhood. I researched and put my trust into what others had all agreed upon; that the pizza here is great. I was looking forward to it. I couldn't wait for it. The problem: it never came.
I placed my order on their website and found it very easy to do so. After ordering a New York Jumbo Large with 5 ingredients, the total was $30.52. Not bad for a good pie plus delivery and tax. The website says to wait 45-60min for specialty pizzas. At 1hr 15min I called the restaurant inquiring to where the pizza was. The employee told me he could not find the order. When I told him the order number, he asked, "Did you order it online?" I said yes. He told me that I should have called the restaurant because their online ordering doesn't work. When I inquired as to why I wasn't notified, or why there isn't any note on their website, the response was, "Sorry dude, we are trying to fix it." So at this point I have no pizza, have lost an hour and a half of my time, and have no solution.
Here is where zero stars comes in to play. When you offer a company your hard-earned money, they should at least give you something in return. Mistakes happen. When mistakes happen, solutions are typically offered. I placed an order for a product, gave credit card information, and never received it. When I called to resolve the problem, not only was I told that they had an issue on their end, but I was never offered a solution. Never did they try to make it right. Never did management get involved. Never will I try them again. The conversation ended with me telling the employee that I was hungry, that I had waited for a long time for food. I told him that if he couldn't help me get pizza soon, I was just going to call Domino's. The response: "Sorry man". (We ended up going to Boneyard Bistro for ribs, and it was awesome as usual)
Santino's pizza may be great; unfortunately I will not get to experience it. Never before have I experienced disappointment from so many layers of a single restaurant. From the internet, to the employee on the phone, to the lack of training for him, and ultimately, to the lack of management. -

OK just ordered Santino's for the first time and it was amazing! It was cooked just right and the thickness of the crust was perfect. Not too doughy. The delivery got here in less than a half hr on a Saturday night (like the old days of Domino's) It was a tad bit pricey but it's always worth it for great food! I recommend!

Santinos is a fabulous pizza find! This little neighborhood place has excellent thin crust pizza, and they have a special square cut pizza. Great tasting sauce, real cheese, homemade crust, and good service. We love the place, and they deliver as well!

Santinos has my favorite pizza in the entire world (so far). It has been a few months since I've had it but not for lack of wanting it. My boyfriend and I are pretty simple when it comes to our pizza, extra cheese and pepperoni. Santinos makes something so simple taste so amazing. We are still on a hunt for the best pizza in SoCal and so far none have been even close to being as good as this place.
a few gripes.
1. We are out of range from them so they do not deliver. I have to go pick it up and drive all the way home with their amazing pizza sitting in my back seat and with much anticipation and impatience, I find myself and glancing at my rear-view the entire ride home wondering if it's OKAY.
2. Their parking "lot" is behind the building and it is tiny, crowded and busy. There are apartment buildings back there and cars darting onto this congested spot constantly. Unless you're planning to be stuck back there for 15+ minutes I suggest you pop a quarted in a parking meter and park on the street.
3. Their prices aren't on the cheap side. The quality of the food is good so in my opinion it is worthwhile but that's probably why we don't order from here as much as we would like to. -

Great service both in restaurant and delivery. Try the square thin crust pizza, especially with spicy ground beef and onions! Great crust and pretty good tomato sauce.

Really good pizza!
I came by here one afternoon and ordered a slice with a lot of toppings. I left very satisfied. The slice came out nice and hot. Flavor was great. Surprisingly inexpensive too. There is also a small parking lot in the back for customers. -

Tonight my fiancé and I decided to start somewhat of a tradition. First, we are determined to find the "best" of what the SFV has to offer in the way of fast food (not drive thru), but quick eats like: pizza, wings, hotdogs, you get it.
Our first mission: NY style pizza. I did some research and found that the two top rated places in the valley are Mulberry Street and Santino's - both in Sherman Oaks. (Please note: we realize there are many "best NY style SFV pizza places" but we had to start somewhere).
First stop, Mulberry Street. Right off the bat, it felt right: had that NY pizza joint feel - complete with the nice guy waiting on us, who, by his accent, was not a SoCal native. We each got a slice (cheese) and split a can of soda. The crust was great, and that got me excited. But, it didn't get better from there. I also can't say it got worse, just mediocre. There was a little too much sauce and the cheese was a bit chewy. There really is much more to report: crust good, sauce: good but too heavy on the slice and cheese: chewy. The cost was a bit annoying - two slices total should cost $3 or $4, not each. They do not have a credit card minimum.
On a side note, this was actually the best pizza I have had on this coast, but that isn't saying much. Still, I would just give it a 3 out of 5. I would definitely go back - and try the eggplant parm slice OR BBQ chicken... If those fail me, I would not keep Mulberry on my radar.
Next, Santino's. My first impression was accurate and lasted through (and beyond) our meal. I hated it.
When we arrived, there wasn't a set up to order just a slice. You had to sit down and order. We also noticed that we needed a $10 minimum, so that left out just getting slices. The place was chaotic, not because it was busy, but because the guy, waiter, owner, manager, whatever, he was in a tracksuit, was clearly frazzled. It seemed like his first day.
So, we sat and waited. We ordered 2 slices - these were actually called BIG slices (cheese) and a side of meatballs. The food came out fast and hot. The slices were 2 small slices not fully disconnected. So, not so much a BIG slice, more like two small slices. The sauce was tasty, crust completely lacked all flavor and the cheese was greasy, not at all tasty. The meatball was promising, but when my fiancé mentioned they tasted mainly of breadcrumbs, it was all I could taste. They were mushy, really. The Big slices cost $3.50/each and the meatballs we $5. Yikes.
Side note: the lady at the table next to us found a bug in her salad (just one that is found in lettuce) but gross, nevertheless. The ice cream they sold was pretty empty and looked really sad (empty-ish) so, maybe they are having a slow Spring/Summer? -

What a cool place this is....
Popped in here along with Sammy Q. before heading for some zen-time down Psychic Eye....
We were both starving and craved a good ol juicy meal... Sammy suggested this place as she has dined here before.. Cool beans, always trust a Yelper Elite, right? heehee
This place is super tiny, though felt super kushty and comfy... It was also a rainy day so was an interesting fit.....
The guy at the front/ counter was really helpful..... I went for the pasta something minus thin, plus that kinda thing.
He came back about 10 minutes later with Sammy's pizza and my... Salad? Hmm.
The kitchen guy got mixed up so counter guy said that he will get that pasta made for me for free I ended up keeping the salad too.. Ooooh, Lunch and dinner, SWSEEET!
I was really impressed with the food.. The ingredients were fresh, I had the most amazing, super juicy tomato's I've ever had... Chunky slices, which was greatly appreciated.
Not too much else to add, I recommend this place if you're out and about and fancy a quick Italian grab. The place has sandwiches, salads, pastas, pizzas (obv....) So try this place.. Oh, or Crave haahaahaaaListed in: SFV ( the good, the bad, the…, "Proper" restaurants

I'm not sure if the owner's Italian, but I have very high suspicion that he is of Italian origin.
The reason it's important is it will justify the amazing tasting pizzas Santino's produces. It's authentic to every degree of an East Coast pizzeria, except it's in the valley.
I'm pleased with the ingredients, the quality, the preparation of your pizza and of course the great service.
Too bad they aren't open late hours, but it definitely is a gem of a pizza spot in the valley.
Mouthwatering delicious pizza! Make sure you get a whole box for yourself the first time around. -

Sherman Oaks, CA
Ive lived in Sherman Oaks for over three years and have driven by this place many times. I for some reason never went in partly because I always see a closed sign in the mid afternoon yet it turns out it is the business next door. So I went there seeing what their hours actually are so I would come in when they are open. Thankfully they were open so I walked in.
The man in the counter was very friendly as he took my order and he was promoting their food big time. For my order I just ordered a pizza slice with 3 toppings. It came just at 5 bucks. The slice served was smaller than slices I've seen at other places but make up for it by piling on the toppings. When I took a bite of it, I realize I finally found a kickass pizza slice place. Everything about it is perfect. The dough and sauce are top notch with the pile of toppings makes it quite yummy. I normally prefer extra sauce on my pizzas yet this one was just fine.
When it came time for dinner the same day, we placed an order for a sandwich, salad and another pizza slice. The Italian cold cut sandwich was superb. -

A well-kept secret, for some reason.
Santino's is my "go-to" pizza joint and the only pizza place I will confidently recommend to my Valley friends. Not as yapped-about as Joe Peeps, Mulberry Street or D'Amore's, but far superior to all, in my opinion. The thin crust square pizza is the jam. My lover and I have had several discussions on whether or not the square tastes different than the traditional round, but have never verified. But I would just listen to me and get the square.
We love the traditional pepperoni or veggie-style so much that we've only ventured to order one of their many gourmet pizzas. Sadly we didn't like it as much, but that's okay because we are happy with plain old pepperoni, anyway.
Warning: Santino's is not an especially great place to dine-in. I would definitely recommend delivery or pick-up (there is parking in the back). A bonus is that they will give you a punch card with which you can receive your 11th pizza free (with some restrictions).
The pizza boxes implore you to ,"Enjoy your delicious moments!" I always have to laugh at that. Not sure why. -

Santino's deserves MORE than 5 stars!!!
Myself and my friends Samantha Q. and Wendy P. came here after an amazing and THIRD eye-opening experience, because pizza just seems to hold a special place in every cosmic soul!
BIG EXCITEMENT when I see that pizza by the slice in an option! We all got that. It starts at $3.99 and it's $0.35 per additional topping. Wendy got sausage, red onion and pineapple, Samantha chose the Hawaiian combination of Canadian bacon & pineapple and I got red onion and grilled red peppers marinated in olive oil & garlic. We were surprised that our orders came out to like $6 - 7 each.... but what can you do? We sat at our table, slightly confused... and continued to talk about our spontaneous and filled with good energies Sunday :)
The man brings us our pizza (DAMN I wish I remembered his name!?!), one at a time... BUILDING OUR ANTICIPATION! First Wendy, then Samantha, finally meeee!!! The dude brings it out on foil... no plates! The pizza DOESN'T look greasy, which I am eternally grateful for to begin with. It's thin... which worries me, since crust is my 2nd favourite part of pizza. But the toppings on all of our slices look delicious. Technically, you get TWO slices, but I suppose it makes up for the price.
The guy (he was the only one there, so he's the one I've been referring to this entire review) is tidying up around the place and I turn towards him and before I can even open my mouth, he swiftly grabs a red pepper shaker and it's in my hand so fast, my head is spinning! The girls' jaws are on the table, slices in hand and I spit out in slurred words "How did you know!?!" He replies with a big, paternal smile, "I know my babies!" and chuckles. Amazing!
.....I take a bite. I SEE THE LIGHT! I now understand why we were charged as much as we were. And I want to pay more. This is epic, I am in disbelief. LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING, let me tell you! I inhaled my slices before Wendy or Samantha even got halfway through their firsts. No joke. There was also Spumoni ice cream, which I wanted to have some of sooo bad! But couldn't this visit. Next time for sure!
It is now a tradition: Every time I visit the Psychic Eye, I will also be paying a visit to my Pizza Poppa! This place makes me so happy :)Listed in: Vegetarian/Vegan FOR LIFE

*Driving down to Woodman.*
*Car conversation*
"Does anyone know a pizza place close to here?"
"I think I see one down the street!"
"How do you know it's a pizza place?"
"... It looks pretty Italian from here."
"Alright, let's go."
I'm so glad that we happened upon this place. When the three of us came in we were greeted oh so kindly but the man behind the register. I WISH I knew his name! He was very nice and was keen to have a conversation. He even let us know the special deal on large slices all day for less then $4.
We each made our orders and sat down to admire the decor. I really liked all the old movie star pictures. At first I though it was a little weird that there was a really large mirror on the wall but it was actually pretty cool. The place was very clean and quiet.
Our pizzas arrived in less then 15 minutes all together even though we all ordered something different. Amazingly fast service! *Nom Nom Nom* Very very good pizza. I got the a Hawaiian slice which came with generous toppings. I was a very happy pizza muncher.
Will totally come back whenever I am in the area!
Next time I go though I will definitely have to get Spumoni!!Listed in: Valley Grub

I'm giving Santinos 5 stars for being humble.
They are not trying to do anything great except pizza.
They do it spectacular.
These people are not trying to be in a reality show, sell you vitamins, rob your soul ; or what's left of it, date you, buy your car for less than it's worth, steal your lovers, bootleg your art and or music, stud your dog - no none of that.
They simply provide an unpretentious and great location to eat VERY well priced food.
Can you imagine that! In la no less.
Nice people and great food - this is one of those places it's easy to get into the habit of eating at. Tasty ass pizza baby. That's it !! -

I really like Santinos. They have great pizza!
I usually get a simple order like mushroom or pepperoni but my boyfriend likes any kind of pizza and we usually order Santinos once a week or two weeks because its walking distance. We are super happy we found it. The owner is really sweet and he sort of melts your heart when you actually get him to talk to you ....
Its not cheap. FYI -

Los Angeles, CA
For now, I can only say it's "a-ok". I have only tried it one time, a small NY round pizza. Pretty good, but nothing jumped out at me.
Crust- not the best "NY" crust I've had, but decent. Somewhat thin, somewhat crisp at the bottom....foldable. Taste was good.
Sauce- a little too thin on the sauce for my taste. Some areas were a little lacking. As for taste, the sauce was good.
Cheese- was just fine, but to be a 4 or 5 star "NY" pizza, I'd expect a little more, and also expect it to be a little oily on top.
Toppings- didn't order any as I just wanted to test the pizza
For now, I'll say it's "a-ok". -

Excellent pizza. But....I've encountered a busy signal many times when calling them for delivery. Today, their phone has been busy for the past 15 minutes. I find this really unacceptable. In this time of technology, how is a busy signal even possible? Or could they actually have the phone off the hook and are clueless enough to not notice it for such a long period time????

I decided to write a review of Santino's after not being completely overhwelmed by Mulberry. Santino's is much better, and I think cheaper. (Disclaimer: It's been a year or so since I've been here.)
Their garlic pizza is terrible, terrible to eat before tango (The Tango Room is across the street). But who needs tango when the garlic, olive oil, sauce, and super thin crust form an unprecedented connection that makes you want to dance on the ceiling in jubilation. -

CPK-NO WAY! Santino's ALL THE WAY. This place is a true gem in a sea of mediocre pizza joints in LA. Its a hole in the wall but when you enter the joint, you KNOW IT's GOING TO BE AMAZING. This is the kind of place you order out on a friday night and cuddle up on the couch with the BEST PIZZA EVER and a bottle of wine. I ordered the SQUARE PIZZA, a thin crust little piece of heaven topped with sweet tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, crumbled spicy sausage, pineapple, and fresh cilantro. The sausage tastes homemade, is lean and doesn't have a greasy taste at all. The ingredients are portioned precisely and there is a prefect balance of sweet and spicy.
Honestly, I know this is my first review and you may be thinking, "what does this guy know?" Well, its been around for A LONG TIME and judging by the walls in the place, which are covered in signed head shots of celebs, this will be a new Friday night tradition. -

I drove 50 miles to try this place...
50 freakin miles!!!
I was telling my friend that this place better be good! If i'm spending 10 bucks for gas this better be good!!!
Actually i never heard of this place, just because I live on the other side of the world which is known as IE.
So we got in and the place was empty, hmmm.... empty on a sunday night but i was assured it was hella good. We looked at the menu and they got some specialty pizzas and i wish i can order all of them but sadly i can only eat so much. When ordering a pizza you can choose between a round or square/rectangular pizza. So what's the difference? The round one is rested for 2 days and the square just a day, you might be thinking what's the difference right? The longer you let it rest the softer the dough is, and they also use different types of flour. But personally i prefer the square ones and you can ask them to make them crispy.
After debating for 2 seconds on what to order we started with a large square pizza with clams in it and a medium round Blanco with extra sausage. After 20 minutes and 2 bottles of wine we have to get another round one which is a shrimp on tomato sauce with feta cheese. All 3 pizzas that we got were great! But i love the clam the most!!!
5 stars for the service, for the food, and for free cork fee!!! Hell yeah!!!
we had 2 and a half bottles of wine here!!! (that's for 2 people)
If you're in this area or you live in this area and you haven't tried it you're definitely missing out on something.
I just wish they can do overnight shipping so i don't have to drive that far....or maybe i should move closer...
ITS TOTALLY WORTH IT!!! -

Can I give it 10 stars?! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Santino's!! The BEST pizza ever!! No more Papa John's or Pizza hut or whoever else. THIS is the best pizza! We found it after moving into the neighborhood, and will never go anywhere else for pizza!
We are pretty simple, getting pepperoni and mushroom on the round style pizza, then we add some peppers and parmesan and voila! The PERFECT pizza experience!
It is totally a guilty pleasure, but at the same time the pizza is not heavy it's light and doesn't feel weighed down by gobs, and gobs of cheese! It is delicious! Very friendly owner and staff. Oh and the chopped salad is pretty yummy too!
HIGHLY recommended!

CANAL STREET, NY
Out of Sunday boredom came an intense pizza craving yesterday afternoon, and it had to be quelled. So I did what anyone ravenous pizza-craving animal would do and talked Marlon http://www.yelp.com/us... into driving 50+ miles to begin a pizza binge with me. Why? Because I knew that one pizza would not quiet the craving, and if I had a friend with me we could try at least 2. We took it to another level though and ate 3 fairly large pizzas!
We started off with a square Baby clam pizza, like Marlon mentioned the dough rests for a full 24 hours prior to being used. The owners described the dough being used in the square crust as a more adult sophisticated crust and they were 100% right. While the round crust is delicious in it's own right, the square crust has a nice soft/crispy/chewy quality you don't find in dough very often. It is DELICIOUS! Not only do they use a different flour for the square crust it also doesn't contain sugar, which IMO lets you taste the flavor of the hearty dough much more.
We followed our clam pizza with a round Blanco with sausage. It was good, but not anywhere near as good as the clam.
Last but not least we cracked open a bottle of Sauternes for dessert and ordered the Shrimp and Feta Pizza. But.... we didn't stop there, we added clams and roasted red peppers. It was really really great, although my favorite still the square clam.
My main reason for upping Santoni's to the full 5 stars is the square crust. The edges are SO SO crispy, and the owners mentioned that upon request they can make it even crispier! While Mozza may have them in the inventiveness category, Santoni's prices are more reasonable, and their pizza is more substantial.
Definitely a must try if you live in the area, or not.
