Santa's Workshop
4 reviews for Santa's Workshop
We were in Colorado for family vacation and in keeping with ther "white winter" motife, I took the kiddos to Santa's workshop at the "North Pole", which is actually right off the freeway, below Pikes Peak. The admission was $17 a person (including kids) but I'm used to paying amusement park prices in Houston so I wasn't shell shocked. Yet!
The park consisted of several smaller kiddie ride, like tea cups and ferris wheels. It was pretty cold outside so we weren't planning on staying long, which ended up being good since we didn't find that much to do.
Good- Sky ride above the park and has great view. The moose puppet show which you would think it corny, well ok it was, but my 4 yr old cracked up at it!
Bad- Frozen metal seats on all the rides. Kids would like the ride but then complain that their bottoms were cold.
One definite plus- Santa in his own little (warm) house, ready to take lap requests, that sounds dirty but I just mean kiddos told him what they wanted for Christmas, and some cute pics. They don't let you take your own, so spent another $20 for them to print some. But they turned out nice, with a border and two ear to ear smiles!

It's a shame people don't seem to be enthusiastic about this place.
I went frequently when I was younger, and it was great. It is definitely not an Elitch's type place, it is geared towards children, and very family friend.
I have to laugh at the fact that people are complaining about a $16 admission. I just went to Disneyland last week and the ticket was $72 for one park for one day. And the lines were so long we only got to do 4 rides in 9 hours.
This place is small, but you will be able to go on every single ride multiple times in one day. Plus there are great shops and characters around.
I have just decided to make a trip down here from Denver when I go home for Christmas this year. Nothing like reliving childhood for $16!!!
Way over priced. Costs $16 per person regardless of age. Do the math. Its not even close to Elitch Garden but a little above the traveling carnivals on Powers/Constitution. Save your money is my recommendation.
I was, for about 7 weeks, a gnome. A surly, miserable gnome complete with velvet knickers, suspenders, and a cap. A sprite-ly, elfin cap.
