AHH this place was a mini taste of heaven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I called the same day to make a reservation..(how nice i didn't even need a credit card). Done oh and not to mention i was able to get one with a lovely balcony ( they gave me a choice 1st or 2nd floor) I went with 2nd...and it was PERFECT!
The staff OH so friendly, kind, and informative!
I checked in room was spacious smelled just flowery and the view out the balcony refreshing. I even made an order to the SIERRA MADRE Pizza place i must say very good (see that review).
At this point I will tell you my only NEGATIVE aspect MORE T.V CHANNELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Since I go to these places to just get away...relax and shut my phone off for the weekend...I depend on being able to relax in the room get away and well i need T.V YAY for HBO but I was saddened by the few choices I had......IS THERE ANY HELPING THIS?? Lol
The surrounding area of the hotel is very colorful with lush vegitation..flowers birds..oh and the ADORABLE sweet little Siamese kitty that was strutting around ...I never made it to the pool or jacuzzi BUT that's for another time !!
and lastly MMM BREAKFAST: It was very nice and quaint for a continental Breakfast: 3 cereals...fresh fresh fruit..mm melon ...the danish and muffins were fresh and very tasty!! Hard boiled eggs again very num nums with a slice or two of toasted bread...COFFEE was good too!!!..Juice and a PAPER
all in all for the price.....place...and people YOU WILL BE SEEING ME AGAIN!!! Thanks
I stayed here last spring with 5 of my friends. First of all, let's just say we would not go there again. It is so expensive and the service is almost nonexistent. I mean they had this mattress in the middle of the room that had a large dirty rag for a blanket and food crumbs all over it.
Then we asked for some more towels and was told there was a limit?! Come on now! Even if it were only 2 people, I think we're entitled to more than 2 measly towels.
Now, I'm not a fastidious person when it comes to lodging and am not asking for 5-star Las Vegas style settings. But I know that even Motel 6 is a better choice.
I spent nearly all of June and July of 2006 in this inn. No, I'm not homeless. I run an archaeological dig up in Angeles National Forest and have a bunch of students who work and live with me in the summers.
Working in LA is nearly impossible as an archaeologist - the cost of food and housing is astronomical as opposed to such places as Ojai or Sequoia. So when I found this place with its incredibly reasonable rates for huge suites, I booked it immediately.
This place kept my students super happy and entertained - they had their own televisions, bathrooms, tiny fridges, and a nice big pool and hot tub to relax in after long days working in 110 degree heat. The staff kept our rooms incredibly clean...which is a HUGE challenge when you have 10-15 people tracking in dirt, equipment, and dusty artifacts into the rooms. They provided us with extra towels, sheets, and beds throughout our stay - they didn't charge us for all these extras either. They also have washing machines and dryers available for guests.
They really made us feel welcome...which is something we dirty archaeologists rarely feel from hotel and inn owners. Usually they think we are the nastiest, dirtiest people who make their lives a big pain in the butt because we mess up their rooms with our dirty clothes, equipment, and artifacts.
We rented out between 2-3 rooms and suites at a time throughout the summer, and I only paid about $270 for each week. Yes, $270. This place is awesome!
Oh yes, and it's right across the street from the Santa Anita Racetrack and the mall. For once I didn't have to worry about entertaining and cooking for the students on a dig. Thank you Santa Anita Inn!!
This is a comforting throwback to the former style of independently-owned motels (motor hotels) with two-story buildings spread out over a lushly-landscaped grounds with waterfalls and beautiful flowers. The staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms offer plenty of space.
We had many family members and friends stay there for three nights over busy New Year's Eve when our daughter was married and everything went very smoothly and all our guests were very happy.
They also enjoyed being so close that they could enjoy pleasant walks to the race track for the morning workouts and down the street to the Historical Museum and the beautiful Arcadia Park.
nice friendly staff and very clean place to stay for a friends wedding reception.
